Wings were very good, best ive had in Mount Juliet so far, burnt ends were good, we asked for no jalapeños but still got them anyways, had to pick them off since we arent fans of anything spicy. Ribs were tender and cobb salad was a great option minus the guacamole, its obvious its not made fresh and most likely from a jar i expected freshly made guacamole at a restaurant but still decent to eat. Drinks were really good! My boyfriend got the old fashioned and i had wine then a cocktail. Service was subpar, waitress didn't give refills on water and very passive instead of proactive. I have to say, everything we've eaten at Barrel House has been absolutely amazing. My personal favorite is the curry chicken salad--it's truly divine and packed with flavor. The French fries are perfectly cooked and easily some of the best around. My son ordered a burger and loved it, and my friend had the chicken, which was also fantastic. I've had the strawberry salad there before as well, and it's fresh, flavorful, and definitely worth ordering. And don't skip dessert! The croissant pudding is incredibly good, and the bourbon brownie is rich and delicious--the perfect way to end the meal. Every time we go, the food is consistently great. The employees are great and friendly, lots of space, etc. today I had the pork chop and subbed green beans for the white bean salad and it also came with creamed corn. The chip arrived and it looked fine but it was dry and overcooked. Please use an instant read thermometer and you'll get it right everytime. The corn was fine, no problem there. The green beans were pretty bad. Cold. Hmmm...is this supposed to be a cold bean thing? I touch the black oval serving dish they came in. Warm. Ok, another bean. Cold. I'm confused. I try another and it's warm. The whole green bean dish was a mix of cold and warm. I'm not going to complain and send back a side, instead I've decided I'm done with this place. What a gem! Upon arrival to this restaurant, we were impressed by the very nice ride outside (not sure if it belonged to the owner?) We were seated right away and greeted by a very nice gentleman. I decided to start with a Kentucky Mule which was perfect. For my entree, I ordered the Bourbon Braised Roast & my husband ordered the salmon. Both dishes were absolutely amazing!! The roast was tender & full of flavor. My husband loved the salmon so much that he ordered a SECOND entree. (Extra protein that day!!) Overall, great service, great drinks & amazing food. We live between Lebanon and Murfreesboro and wanted to try a new spot for a late dinner last night. Based on Yelp reviews, we decided on Barrel House in Mt. Juliet. We arrived around 8:40 PM and confirmed they were still serving food, which they assured us they were until 10 PM, even with the storm. We sat in the lounge area, which had a modern feel with nice high-top tables. Our server was incredibly attentive and sweet. Since I have an onion allergy, she made sure my meal was completely onion-free. My husband, a whiskey lover, ordered the banana old fashioned and absolutely loved it. I tried a smoked blueberry lemon vodka cocktail, which was also tasty. For our meals, he had the filet with a twice-baked potato and swapped the asparagus for green beans. I had the Strawberry Fields salad with chicken and a side of brussel sprouts. Everything was delicious and came out quickly. My husband is one of those guys that does not rant and rave over anything - he's very nonchalant and everything is always "pretty good" - but he made a point to say the filet was incredible, very tender and perfectly cooked to medium rare and said the Banana Old Fashion was delicious. Overall, we had a great first experience at Barrel House and definitely plan to return! It looks like they rotate the cocktail menus out so I am excited for our next visit. read more

Had Valentine's Day lunch with G and it was great! Roses on the table, a barbershop quartet and terrific service and tasty food. I had the Bang Bang Shrimp and G had Chicken Wrap. I made a reservation ahead of time, but when we arrived, we were seated at a small two-top even though several four-top tables were completely open. That should have been the first red flag. It was frustrating, especially once other couples were seated at larger tables, and we quickly realized we didn't have enough space for everything we ordered. We got two appetizers, a main entrée, and a side, with drinks. --and the table was overflowing because it was so small. Mozzarella Arancini (V): 3/10 - Very mid and lacking flavor. Bang Bang Shrimp: 10/10 - Easily the star of the night; fresh, homemade, and delicious. Steak Frites (DF): 4/10 - Ordered medium rare, but it came out much rarer. We couldn't finish it because it felt unsafe to eat. The fries were the only redeeming part. Gouda Mac N Cheese: 2/10 - Dry, unseasoned, and disappointing. Well, we loved Catch 22 and were sad to see it go, but we tried Barrel House today and would say...we are happy to have our local spot back! Not much has changed inside, aside from some upgraded design elements, more tables and less booths (good). For food: we tried the pesto flatbread and the po boy tacos. The flatbread was good, a little too cheesy for me but really good flavor. It was those tacos for me though! Super good! I think I will get them the next time I come but with such an amazing sounding menu, we will be back again and again to try it all out! We decided to stop by on a Saturday afternoon hoping to miss brunch, but there we were looking at the brunch menu Well, I will say I'm glad I ate brunch because it was delicious. The location has plenty of parking and outside seating. The inside has a "come in for a drink" type of vibe. Which to me means, it's comfortable for a drink and conversation. We were seated quickly and our waiter was friendly. I ordered the shrimp poboy tacos, and potatoes. I also ordered a sangria, which had brandy...deliciousness! The food came hot and fresh. We didn't wait too long. Those potatoes are so darn good! I put them in my tacos and each bite was an explosion of flavor with that yummy sauce. The boyfriend ordered waffle fries, which were average with his tacos. They were nothing compared to those potatoes. Get the potatoes. One of our favorite happy hours. We like the bartenders and the other patrons and the happy hour prices are great. Appetizers like the bang bang shrimp are great. We finally had the opportunity to have dinner and invited guests. We dislike complaining, but sadly the filet was not good. It was fatty and looked to be steamed as it was pale, so sear. It's market price too? They allowed a new entree to be chosen, gracefully. The pot roast was fabulous. Mushroom risotto was good. The wings were good, but not crispy as preferred, and both sauces, the sweet chili and chimichurri were very good. Smash burger was good. The fries were good, but would have been better if served hot. Service was very good and friendly. The dining room wasn't what we expected it to be. We went here for Brunch on Sunday. We started with the fried green tomatoes and we both enjoyed them so much, we had eaten them before I could get a picture. My wife got the grit bowl, which has pork belly,creamy grits, sunny side up egg and wilted spinach. She gave it a 5 star. I got the Southern skillet, which is roasted potatoes, scrambled eggs, bacon, red peppers and onions topped with gravy. I give it a 4 star. The gravy was awesome, but it didn't have enough peppers and onions. I would order it again. The service was very good and the ambiance is comparable to a sports bar. This was not my first visit to Barrel House but my last visit was not at all memorable. This visit was different. The pastrami is house made and absolutely delicious. The restaurant was crowded and pretty noisy. It would have been helpful to turn the music down. The patio is small but nice. The parking lot is very tight and there are additional spaces in the back. The service was good. Be cautioned, however, if you use a credit card, you will be charged an additional 3% processing fee. Credit card fees should be paid by the restaurant as a part of doing business. This is not a cheap restaurant. Prices range from $15-25 for an entree. Add sides and drinks, maybe dessert, and your total for a single person will be in excess of $35. All said, the meals were so good that I'll be back. read more

I've been waiting in anticipation to eat here after stopping in a month ago and looking at their menu. The old restaurant that was located there (Catch 22) was always so amazing, and we were told that the food was pretty consistent with how it use to be. We were told it was a fantastic chef from a downtown restaurant. Not sure if this stands true or not, yet it was pretty disappointing. The appetizers (deviled eggs & cheesy garlic bread) were fantastic! The Cubano was okay, yet I wouldn't order it again. Lots of places do far better. The biggest disappointment was the Ahi sesame tuna. Market price was $25. The bartender seemed not to know too much about any of the preparations of the tuna dishes. I asked if maybe it was like Catch 22 use to prepare it. She thought so, so I ordered it with the marinade on the side. When it arrived, the sesame seeds were on the side and she had to get me the side of marinade. This has me wondering if this dish wasn't prepared as it should have been. It was an 8 oz tuna (very fatty on one end) served over a small portion of julienne vegetables that were next to impossible to pick up with your fork. Overall, just dissatisfied. We could have spent our $80 elsewhere. read more

My wife and I were told that this place was very good, so we decided to try it. The food was very good, and the restaurant is very nice and kind of has a cozy feel to it. The service was really good as we were greeted as soon as we walked into the place and seated. We started off with their Tavern Chips. We enjoyed them and they were regular chips with some unique toppings which made them very tasty. I might have given this restaurant a 5 star but there was a big piece of fat in my pastrami sandwich. I would've preferred that they leave off that slice of pastrami fat so that it could be an excellent sandwich. The cook should know better. read more

We visited Barrel House on a Friday evening, and we were seated promptly. Our waitress was at our table soon thereafter and we placed our order for an appetizer of fried green tomatoes. Usually I love fried green tomatoes, but these seemed to have a thick crust. They were kind of hard to cut and eat with my fork and they were served with some kind of relish and a hot pimento cheese. These weren't my favorite and my husband and I agreed that we probably wouldn't order those again. For my meal I ordered the smash burger. While it was tasty, it wasn't really a smash burger because it had two thick patties which made it hard to hold together while eating, but I made it work. The fries it came with were fresh and hot. My husband had the fish and fries, and that fish had great flavor! He loved it. The service from our waitress was stellar, too. I look forward to coming back to try some other menu items. read more
