Hot chicken pickle back shot - where else can you find something so fun?
    Jenn N.

What a fun flight. We got caught in a downpour & were expecting to have to hang out under an awning but this place opened a little bit early, so we were so grateful for the reprieve from the onslaught of drops. Service was phenomenal. The decor is dim, comforting & classy. The whiskeys themselves are all so diverse. The two of us loved the OG bourbon, that was our absolute favorite. The cinnamon rye is like drinking adult apple pie. The coffee rye is so smooth. Can I have a bit of that in my coffee please? If you are an adventeror, the hot chicken pickleback shot is so fun. We are flying, so packing bottles really isn't feasible but we will be ordering online!

Did the whiskey tasting/cocktail class with Katheryne -- absolutely amazing!!! 10000/10 they were so detailed and knowledgeable. Made amazing recommendations with phenomenal quality ingredients. Tried 8 different house whiskeys and a few cocktails. Went on Monday so we were pretty much the only ones there. Super chill vibes, class happens at the back bar with a chance to go behind the bar and shake for urself. Best experience in Nashville with the best teacher/tender!

After walking for a bit and trying to look for a chill place to just relax and do some whiskey tasting we stumbled on one of the coolest spots. The vibes were chill not too packed like the other places which was a bit overwhelming to be honest. We walked in and sat by the Bar and were attended by Jeremy who manages the place. He was honestly one of the chillest person ever, and knew his Whiskey and made our experience one to remember and took his time with us and made conversation. The other bartenders were very easygoing as well. The drinks they made were phenomenal.. love the garnishes and how smooth they were. The vibes here were great, there was great music playing in the background not too loud so we can still hear conversations. Loved the art and portraits around the place as well. Don't leave without taking pictures on their Photo Booth literally super fun and try and squeeze as many people in there guarantee it will fun! Their bathrooms were clean. I really loved that there were many areas you can sit if you were either a group. There was the bar area, tables, and some cool couches as well if you wanted to hangout and have a drink or watch sports in their TV's they had. Highly recommend this spot you will not be disappointed and ask for Jeremy he's the Best and so down to earth.

    Poor service, messy bar!
    Tina P.

Very disappointed in the place. It was a mess, as the server behind the counter had not clean any glasses from prior guests; there was no clean area to sit. She was sloppy dressed (oversized sweats) and the whole time stood and talked with a guy at the corner of bar. We only ordered one drink as we sat for 10 minutes with empty glasses. Finally we called her over and asked her to cash us out! There was another party of ladies who sat at a table and they had to come to counter to check out cuz she never went back to check on them! We won't be back!

    Welcome sign with false advertisement

We were visiting Nashville and thought this place looked cool. We decided to give It a try based on the sign outside that said happy hour all day Mon-Wed. We came in on a Tuesday and so we thought the sign would apply. We went to the bar and they said that sign wasn't true. I went and took a picture of the sign and showed It to them so they went and took the sign down but wouldn't honor the sign. We decided to stay and try the bourbon which was good but based on the customer service I can only give 1 star. Hopefully they can own up to their mistakes in the near future.

Upon approach, the property itself is visible from the highway and was impressive, almost to the point of breathtaking. Justing seeing this was simple reminder on why doing this tour was a must for me. The welcome center was just that, welcoming! It was clean, modern and displayed history of Nearest Green's lineage, facts about the art of distilling, along with display cases filled with tools from the original distillery/farm. There was also a display case for their world-renowned Uncle Nearest Tennessee Whiskey. All the staff I encountered were kind and welcoming. The tour guide for my tour was Terrell Johnson and he was phenomenal! It was obvious from the beginning, that he thoroughly enjoys his job; he was funny, personable, and very knowledgeable. He shared that he's been at the distillery for the past 5 years and has received lots of recognition for outstanding work as a tour guide. The entire property exceeds 450 acres which is massive. That said, the tour only covered a small portion of the property. We did see one of the barrel houses which actually contained barrels of whiskey that were in the aging process. We were also able to see the onsite bottling area which was in operation at the time. Because it was staffed and operational, pictures and video were not allowed. Towards the end of the tour we did a tasting which was included with the tour. During this time, we also got to label our own bottle of Uncle Nearest 1856 to take home with us. Terrell encouraged us to do something unique with the label to ensure it stood out from the bottles that can be purchased at most liquor stores. After completing the tasting, we went back to the welcome enter which and the opportunity to peruse the store which contained numerous Uncle Nearest branded merchandise as well as numerous bottles of the various types of Uncle Nearest whiskey. The unique part about this is they have a few that can only be purchased there which was a nice treat. Lastly, their bar, Humble Baron, is located at the rear of the welcome center space. Unfortunately, I went on a Thursday afternoon and the bar is only open on the weekend. Needless to say, I will make a return visit just experience a pour or two in their bar. Overall, I am pleased with the tour experience and would participate again. was a good experience. As someone who has been supportive of the brand and the Nearest Green story, I hope they quickly resolve their current issues so the focus can return the Nearest Green story and his legacy can continue to live and grow.

Dodging yet another storm that rolled through when our group was here, we posted up in Nelson's Green Brier for an hour or so. I haven't struggled so much like I have here to pick a craft cocktail. There are so many good ones on the menu that fit any type of pallet, that it took me so long to decide. I got a modified old fashioned and then there was a martini-like drink that I tried. Both really packed a punch, luckily we were walking to our next destination. In the store they seemed to have a flash-sale going on for one of the bourbons. It was normally around $75 or something and I got it for $45. I am sure that's not normal but it really made the selection even better, because the wall of whiskey/bourbon is also really tough to choose what you want!

Meanwhile, the other members of my group, all around the same age and carrying valid IDs, were able to order drinks without issue. As an Asian customer, I left this establishment believing I was racially profiled. I was singled out, denied service despite presenting valid identification, and never given a legitimate explanation for why my ID was supposedly unacceptable. Since the incident, I have found multiple reviews from other customers of color describing experiences that raised similar concerns about profiling and disparate treatment. The entire experience was humiliating, unprofessional, and unacceptable. There are plenty of businesses in Nashville that can verify IDs without treating customers this way.
