The former was not needed because I wanted an appointment as soon as possible and presumably not seeing a dentist could expedite scheduling; the latter was not needed because I am actively trying to become pregnant. The office told me that I would not be able to have a cleaning without an x-ray because "the law" requires that dental patients get x-rays at mandated intervals. I have researched all Florida statutes and regulations concerning dentistry: There is no such law. Apart from this lie, the office also informed me that pregnant women were fine to get x-rays which cause less radiation than "going outside." While I don't have data on that point, surely that cannot be the case. Moreover, it's worth mentioning that the one time I did have an issue, it could have been diagnosed with the x-ray Dr. Bailey performed. She, however, apparently didn't review the x-ray.

He has a condition that prohibits enamel growth so dental work is fairly regular for us. The front office staff were very welcoming. The front waiting room had plenty of seating, toys, and TVs and reading materials to entertain. The chairs are all very new and Netflix on the ceiling was the perfect touch of distraction. The day we came for the procedure the office lost power and they weren't able to proceed with the surgery. The level of unprofessionalism and disregard for the safety of the patient was unbelievable. I asked what would have happened had this incident happened during the procedure (i.e. losing power) and they said they would stop with it and reschedule for another day. Just imagine stopping a surgery in the middle of it and letting the patient leave with an open cut and god knows what else. I asked, do you have a generator that could provide power in case this happened in the middle of the procedure? They looked at me like I was from another planet. We both walked away never to return. I had an absolutely disappointing experience and extreme lack of professionalism with my…read moreinteractions with this office. I felt like nothing more than a quick cash grab and here are few of my grievances. I specifically requested NO narcotics for my recovery from surgery. I was instead prescribed twelve Hydrocodone that were included in my prescriptions upon pick up. I advocated for myself and my medical history in this office and I was ignored. I then got a follow up bill 5 months after my visit informing me that I owed them over $2,000 for the medical code being used for sedation. This was after I had paid in full for my surgery at the time it was performed. This was doubly frustrating as I had requested preferably no sedation and just a topical or localized analgesic. The doctor was adamant I needed to be put under. After calling my insurance and verifying the codes, not only did I not owe money... but I was overcharged. I have now been waiting over five weeks for my owed refund. The first check was sent to the wrong address because even though I spent the time to update my address on my forms during office visits, it was never properly entered into their system. I can't in good faith recommend this practice and would recommend traveling a city or two over for your oral and facial surgery needs as that would be an easier process in my opinion.
