TLDR: Handy Toyota told me they could provide me a new RAV4 Prime XSE with both a kick sensor and…read morehitch installed - the kick sensor would just be relocated, no worries. However, instead of relocating the kick sensor, they removed it and disposed of it. Now I'm out a kick sensor... and apparently they can't actually produce the car they sold me, one with both a kick sensor and hitch installed. In 2024 I was considering a new car, but only if it was the right one - information I shared with the sales person when I emailed to ask Handy Toyota if the kick sensor on the RAV4 Prime XSE worked with a hitch. Handy Toyota responded that "If you get the Toyota hitch they relocate the sensor so its nothing to worry about. Aftermarket ones wont do that." I relied on their expertise as a Toyota dealership to my own detriment, as it turns out this is NOT true. After some run around, and a complaint to the VT AGO CAP, asking them to show me where my kick sensor was now located, as I hadn't been able to work it since the hitch was installed, the General Manager of Handy Toyota acknowledged that the kick sensors "are not able to be relocated on the Rav 4 Prime" and that my kick sensor was "physically removed and disposed of at the time of the hitch installation." The only explanation I have received from Handy Toyota for why their sales person misrepresented the compatibility of the kick sensor and hitch on the 2024 RAV4 Prime XSE was that "the technology in these vehicles is complex and ever changing." It took Handy Toyota approximately six months to provide me this rationale. I have not received an explanation from Handy Toyota for why nobody reached out to me to confirm that I did not want my $340 kick sensor returned as I'd specifically requested the four blank lug nuts that my new locking ones were replacing. I paid for those, and I paid for my kick sensor. After sharing a draft of this review with Handy Toyota to contest, they made a limited offer to buy my car back; however, they still won't provide a replacement kick sensor (nor reimbursement, outside of the conditions they've stipulated) for the one they told me would be relocated, but instead was removed from my car. Handy Toyota will only provide a replacement kick sensor in conjunction with their removal of my hitch and returning my 2024 RAV4 Prime XSE to original stock as well as a refund for the hitch and installation labor determined by them, plus they'd pick up and drop off my car while leaving me with one of their loaners. I don't trust them and I won't have them work on my car, even if it means eating the costs and getting the work done elsewhere. If you are looking for Toyota sales or service, I recommend skipping this option.

The service we received was excellent and the salesman went above and beyond to ensure we found just the right vehicle at the right price. No games, no hassles, just a great experience. I would definitely do business with this establishment again. I have purchased many vehicles over the past 30 years, both new and used, and this was easily one of the best transactions I have been involved with. For those who have had issues with Progressive in the past I offer this advice.....When purchasing a high dollar item like a vehicle, the consumer really needs to do their homework BEFORE the sale is complete, not after. The dealership can only be held responsible for the performance of your vehicle up to a certain point and most business owners will step up and meet you half way in most cases. If you have any doubts about a specific vehicle, don't buy and save yourself a lot of hassle.

After having the car towed to an independent, reputable garage for analysis, we received the shocking news: the vehicle requires a brand-new engine. Progressive claims on their website: "We want every visitor -- online or at the dealership -- to feel welcome, supported, and confident in their vehicle purchase. That's why great customer service is at the heart of everything we do." Except "great customer service" apparently includes selling a vehicle that was clearly a lemon and needed a major, costly repair just weeks after purchase. Where is the support and confidence they promise when we're facing the cost of a new engine? The only thing we feel is regret. Do NOT purchase a used vehicle from Progressive. You will absolutely regret it and end up paying far more than you bargained for when your "new" car breaks down almost immediately. Buyer beware. This experience has been an absolute nightmare.

After a week we finally received a call with a costly repair estimate. We decided to get a 2nd opinion and paid for another tow truck to go to Handy's to bring the truck for a 2nd opinion. The tow truck arrived to be sent away by the service department. After not hearing from the 2nd service shop we called and were told it never arrived. When we called Handy's we were told yes your truck is here , we told the tow company to leave because you owe $179.00. No one called or emailed us we owed any money. When asked why we were never called to be given the chance to pay before sending the tow truck away we were given 3 different answers. 1. Billy called but you didn't answer. We have no record of this call 2. We thought we saw the tow truck driver on the phone so we assumed it was with you. 3. Maybe we called the wrong number. Poor customer service and questionable business practices at best. I was told by the owner that sometimes they have employees in service that are good at repairs but not with customer service. Unacceptable answer. We immediately paid the $179 when we became aware of the bill and paid for a 2nd tow cost because Handy's refused to pay for the tow they turned away. We purchase new truck from Key in South Burlington and received excellent customer service.

What he does should and probably illegal. We bought a car from Don Cobb 2/7/2023. We drove it less than 20 miles before it overheated and completely broke down. I called Don and he refused to do anything for me stating I bought the car as is. We brought the car to a mechanic who noted metal flakes in the coolant a sign that Don had put Barr's Head Gasket Seal in the car. I was mortified and called Don who refused to do anything. My husband and son lost their second jobs without a car to get too work. I continued to call Don begging him to make this right and just take the car back and refund me. He said no, so I left a review. Only then did he call me upset about my review telling me he is ordering parts. Our mechanic already ordered parts but I told Don to bring them to our mechanic. Appreciating he was trying to do at least something even though he was clearly angry I left a bad review and demanded I remove it. I was obviously not trusting they were the right parts or quality parts which turned out to be correct. Our mechanic could not use the water pump as it was not the right size. Bottom line it's now 3/21/23 and our car is finally drivable. It's not fully fixed as there are many other issues with it. Our first round of repairs is over $700 I feel like I should note most concerning conditions that Don Cobb and his employees attempted to hide on the vehicle. They applied the tape over the two front axles to hide their condition, they need to be replaced asap. They poured Barr's Head Gasket Seal to hide a leak, which clogged up all the hoses and caused the car to overheat. They applied paint covering numerous rust spots, at this point even with the $700 in repairs this car will not pass inspection. Don is a crooked auto sales man do not trust him, nor anyone who works for him. Trust me I am following this up with the DMV, Attorney General, and the town of Saint Albans.
