Just moved 2 minutes away from this restaurant. Everyone that comes to visit me, I bring them here. My favorite is the Tavern Sirloin tips!! Absolutely cooked to perfection . The huge burgers and fries, all the young people love them! Always friendly and attentive service!! Don't forget to try the homemade ice cream desserts and the fried Oreos... absolutely delicious!! In the mood for some classic diner food, we stumbled across the Kozy Nook. It was nice and spacious inside, and the booths were very comfortable. They have a good variety on the menu; so there will be something to please everyone. I went with the fish and chips. Although the coleslaw wasn't my favorite, I absolutely loved the generous portion of delicious fish. It was really delicious and I would definitely order it again next time! As soon as the waitress brought my order out and place it on the table in front of me, I automatically knew this food was going to be bland. A business trip took me to the great state of Massachusetts. I ended up stopping in for dinner at the Kozy Nook Restaurant. Chicken and Rice Soup I was starving so I ordered a cup of chicken and rice soup as an appetizer. This dish was actually pretty good. A sprinkle of salt, pinch of pepper, and a pack of crackers, the chicken and rice soup was a great warm up for my empty stomach. The Sirloin Tips I normally order my steaks medium well. This time I opted for medium. The sirloin tips were the best part of the dish. You could taste the grilled flavor in the meat. The meat was very tender and juicy.... kind of made me want to order just a side of the tips to take some home.... to eat with grits of course. The Corn Nothing much really to say about the corn. The corn tastes just like corn. It was warm. No added flavors. The Mashed Potatoes and Gravy Too start..... Throw that gravy away. The gravy taste as if they scraped the bottom of the pot and diluted it with water. The garlic mashed potatoes could have used a little bit of salt... Otherwise it was fine. Creamy. What I will say though is on the way out, we walked past this couple's table. They had ordered three different types of pizza. They looked really good. Somebody let me know how they taste. Came just before 11am and was told the wait was going to be 30 minutes. It was busy, and on Sundays we know we will have to wait, which is fine. We waited outside, and I put a timer on my phone to go in at the 15 minute mark. Ended up waiting some more, finally asked how much longer. She says condescendingly, "we called your name, like, 5 times. No one answered." Why tell someone the wait is going to be 30 minutes if it's really going to be 10..? We were seated a few minutes later. Was taking my jacket off as I sat down... wasn't able to fully take it off and even look at the menu before she asks us what we want to drink. Not once did our waitress check on us, even though we were seated in front of the waitress's stations where their registers are. Waited for her to come back, you know, like, halfway through so I could get a side order of home fries but decided to just ask for a cinnamon roll when she came back to get our plates. Came back with the check, said "no rush!" and ran off before I could even say anything. Felt rushed, food was okay. We usually go here on Sundays but I'll have to check out other places with better service next time. read more

Went on the recommendation of family - however didn't realize that breakfast ended at 11:30 am (arrived around noon). Lunch menu is extensive - husband had a BLT which he said was good and I had the crab cake app special. It was OK - consisted of two crusted mounds with an aioli sauce. Service was OK. My friend and I went for lunch on Saturday. We always look forward to having the Tavern tips. They're usually so tender and delicious. My friend always gets 2 tip plates to go as well to bring home to her family. Well not this time. They were very tough. I get it that you can't always get a perfect cut of meat. However when I told the waitress her response was i'm sorry. She offered us a bowl of soup in place of the 2 Tavern tip meals at $ 16. a plate. I asked to speak with management and she came back to the table saying no management was on today. I'm pretty upset at this point. We have no lunch now and are out $ 32. +. I can assure you that I will definitely not be going there again. I paid the bill and we left. Meanwhile we were being stared at by the kitchen staff like we had done something wrong. ( we were seated outside the kitchen doors) I have to say that it's a pretty greedy person who charges you for food you can't eat. Shame on you Kozy Nook and staff ! You lost a very good customer. Love Kozy Nook! There's not much that's fancy or elegant about the Nook, but everything I've ordered there is tasty, prepared and presented well. The breakfast menu is HUGE... almost anything you want... eggs, French toast, biscuits and gravy, omelets, pancakes, etc. And the dinner menu is even LARGER. My grandson and I recently stopped at Kozy Nook for diner Saturday night; to start... The Servers: Not exactly polite, was not to caring about her job. We had to ask for a pen to sign the check, after 5 minutes of waiting, we got one. Really.... 5 minutes for a to-go box, that I had to get myself because she didn't come over to our table!!! not good. Fish & Chips: Fish was mediocre. More than 1/2 of the French Fry's, were white and not cooked. Diner Rolls: My grandson: " Can we please have some bread for the table?" Server: " YEP, 2 rolls for A DOLLAH". Daily specialty: Prime Rib: Supposed to be medium rare, came out Over done and was barely edible. In the servers words " YEAH.... I GUESS THATS BECAUSE THERE REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY Short staffed in the back". It was not just us that had this expperence out neighboring table requested to speak to a manager after 1 hour of waiting..., we waited 45 mins for ours. Fish, perhaps I'm a bit more choosy? It was merely ok. But biggest issue that evening, my friend asked if she could have the onion rings rather than fries & is there an extra chg? The place is not a 5 star dining experience, but I am sure glad it is not. During the winter we come here at least once a week. The servers are great and the service is usually very fast with no problems. The food is super affordable and simple. There are no complex items, just straight cooking and food flavors. I hate eating a piece of chicken at Apple bees or Fridays that is fiesta lime seasoned with dragon fire salsa, or lemon zested herb spinach, blachhhhhh. We went here at noon on a Sunday for breakfast since we knew the wait would be less than IHOP. We were able to sit right down. I had low expectations in the first place for some reason, so they delivered on my expectations. The service was friendly and nice, but she did seem to disappear after we got our food. If we had needed anything it would have been bad. My mom didn't seem to like the coffee. My friend thought the biscuits were too soft for that type of gravy compared to what she has had in the past. I personally felt that my banana pancakes needed more bananas. I will say, I was impressed that the syrup container was not sticky when I picked it up to use it. read more

My family has eaten here several times, and every time the food is meh. They have a clam boil stew that I like a lot but each time I order it, it seems to be lacking more and more. The last time we ate there, the place was less than half full at 6pm on a Thursday, and it took forever for us to even get drinks... Our waitress was on her cell phone constantly, for 5 of us to eat dinner took an hour and a half. Our waitress was rude, the food wasn't that great, and it took forever. Well I decided to give this play ago again. A friend and I decided to come and taste the meal again. We both like the spicy boneless chicken appetizer so we ordered that and we also both ordered the Texas Burger with everything on it. We received our appetizer and everything was perfect. The chicken was cooked and had a lot of flavor. The meal came and the burger was cooked to a perfect medium and the French fries were perfect not to salty or over cooked. From previous experiences at this restaurant I would have to say the service was better and we enjoyed the burger. read more

Decided to come here for breakfast before work... We were seated immediately, ordered quicky, and our food was brought out to us in a fast manner. Our waitress was ok. I ordered Two eggs breakfast served with home fries, toast and bacon and he ordered Caveman all meat omelette with cheddar cheese and Texas toast 3 slices. We had two orange juice each. The bill came out to $30. Definitely not worth it. Nothing popped out to me in flavor. It was an average breakfast. Probably won't be back for breakfast, maybe we will try lunch one day. read more

Very happy with all our visits here, this last one even more so. Came along with a girlfriend of mine for breakfast on a pretty average weekday, not too busy. Immediately greeted by the woman at the desk and seated. Seems some regulars were ordering take-out and were socializing. Coffee came quickly from our waitress Melanie, who was wonderful. After a request for some extra cream, a few sips, my friend asked if she had any alcohol (Baileys, Kalhua) for our coffee. I really thought she was joking, but Melanie replied with, "Absolutely!" She quickly came back with 2 Irish Coffees stating, "I just made you girls Irish Coffees because they're WAY better. They were made VERY good and were definitely better than any spiked coffee. Time flew and our food arrived, my friend with blueberry pancakes, myself with a bacon and cheese omelette. Breakfast isn't hard to make when it's slow, but the service on this day and others was super friendly and attentive. I was there on Sunday June 8th for breakfast told there would be a 25 minute wait. Did not believe that because the girl taking names and seating the people was on top of things. After 20 minutes we were seated, got a waitress quickly drinks and took our order. As we were waiting for our food there was a party of 9 which likely slowed down the turn over with the food but after 30 minutes we did get our food. But what was sad to see is the party of 9 - one people did not receive his food a good 20 minutes later he got some food after most of the people were finished and it was not what he ordered, but he waited so long that he took the food. This is not good for your place to see and the customer loudly stated to customers as they left "be careful you may not get your right food with a long wait." read more
