I have been to Rogers a few times when looking for a quick lunch in the area. The food has always been solid. It is sort of like a hotdog place meets a diner. Apparently, the place just changed hands in the past month or two. Inside it looks about the same although the menu has changed somewhat. I can't determine what was added or deleted, but it just strikes me as a different menu. I got two dogs all the way without onion in order of fries and a coffee milk The fries came out and my shoestring, which are not exactly my favorite type of fry, but they were fried well. Apparently, if you ask for fat french fries you'll get the thicker cut ones which I will remember for next time. The hot dogs were well cooked and sauced. The buns seemed fresh. Service was friendly and prompt. The inside was largely the same as I remembered it. I sat at the counter and could view the galley kitchen, which seemed to be very clean. Prices weren't bad. Ok, based on the new Grand Opening.... 3 visits. 1st, after the Monday Mania, dogs with the works were on point....old school good. I'm a customer again 2nd, Monday Mania part deux, subpar, meh, debating my decision on returning, again. 3rd, Fish and Chips, when they do it right.... It's fan tas tic especially with Portuguese Sauce (which not a local places do... and I HATE tartar sauce). A+ takeout. Nicely battered. PSauce on point.....some of the best fish and chips I've ever had from Roger's and better than or as good as few well know local places... still haven't topped the old Assonet Inn. But great. The fiancés bfast for dinner....3/10. So.... Bacon was like the precooked microwave version. Homefries on top were good... bottom soggy. Vut2do ‍ I'll try the dogs again, not on a Monday. A quick lunch, we ordered hot dogs to go. They were out of sauerkraut so couldn't make a kraut dog, so I had their Coney Island dogs with the works. The sauce was bland and nothing to write home about. I also ordered a salad- it was literally iceberg lettuce with the hot dog toppings on it- tomato, pepper and I don't know what else- the leaves were brown on the ends so it went right in the trash. The food is always consistently good, the wait staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean. I mostly enjoy breakfast or lunch there. The bread for the hot dog buns , were super soft and fresh! The hotdogs were a good quality, they did not have natural casings that was a little disappointing. Ordered a small Fish and Chips. The size was adequate. Smelled like the oil should have been changed a couple of weeks ago. The batter fell right off the fish. I hate that. Frozen french fries. Fresh are so much better. $15, kind of expensive. One suggestion. While waiting for my order I noticed a very young waitress that kept putting her fingers in her mouth. Local hangout where everyone knows your name, and sweetbread and chourico abound. Wonderful vibe where the staff is friendly, the coffee keeps coming, and the tastes and portion sizes are large. Eggs, sweetbread French toast and the breakfast sandwich on a hard roll were excellent, with the running commentary from the staff on the local news, how everyone seems to be doing, alternating with interspersed greetings of regulars coming in or going. read more

Appears they've just reopened, (October 16 202 0) Well, this establishment has been around a long time, and I'm going to miss the pre covid Rogers; 1st though / past reviews complained about slow service, and having to use cash, since using charge was not an option. Well that among other things hanged. New owner Ashley chose to remodel the old Rogers; gone is the luncheon counter, which could seat 6, and 4 person booths. The interior now has an antiseptic look and feel to it. Modern registers, shiny new appliances,, tables, chairs. Tiled walls; it doesn't feel like the old diner-style Rogers, because it's not. It's changed to meet post covid. Looking around today, and counting heads, the entire restaurant can hold 12 people (more or less) when once the front section alone could seat over 20. I can't help wondering how it's going to survive with such limited seating and little turnover. Maybe they're counting on taking out. They kept the old ceramic coffee mugs, and that's a good thing, but large, the ceramic plates have been replaced with plastic. Service was slow today, but they're two days in with a new staff. - Given there were roughly a dozen people seated and three waitresses...there's room for improvement. Prices went up a bit, but you can still get a full breakfast, w toast, a muffin, and coffee for under 9.00 dollars. That's pretty good, ok. :-) in my book. I hope they make a go of it. Oh, the breakfast, was good, cooked and presented well on the plate, a trophy meal, reminded me of a Dennys, Ihop, or Newport Creamery breakfast. I miss the old soaked in butter garlic, and paprika tasting and sometimes slightly greasy, sometimes burned around the edges home fries, lol - fortunately the toast was a little burned, so good to know not everything changed. Since I am a hot dog lover I had been meaning to try this place since I moved to Fall River one and a half years ago. I finally did and was definitely not disappointed. Since I went there the first time not too long ago I have been back many times since because their food, not just their hotdogs, is just awesome. I am most impressed by the fact that you can order anything on the menu anytime of day from open (4:30am) to close and since I work 3rd shift, I love to get sandwiches or burgers or hotdogs in the morning and they are always at the ready. After a long morning I went to have lunch at Roger s for the first time. To my surprise it was a nice little place. The lady at the front was super friendly with great service. Got some eggs and cheese with toast which was well made. I'll def go there again since I've only been there once, and I don't usually YELP a place after 1 visit. Roger's has been one of my North End haunts for awhile. Mostly because the food is usually good, the service is always quick and I don't walk out dreading the arrival of my next credit card statement (they don't accept plastic). There are a smattering of spaces for parking in the side lot and the street is always an option. The place is more updated than many stagnating Fall River businesses offering similar food. Roger's is one of the few places where I actually enjoy root beer more than its less adolescent cousin. Partly because it's their own brand but mostly because it is awesomeness in a bottle. Cheap eats are the norm and the offerings are well above average in taste, quality and yes, even presentation. But don't get in your car yet because to be fair, it's a hot dog shop so you'll find mostly comfort food here. The sole disappointing dish I ordered at Roger's was a massive quahog appetizer that came with a large complimentary black hair. Fortunately, upon my discovery of the issue, it was immediately addressed and the app was removed from my bill. The service is prompt at Roger's. The staff isn't there to kiss your ass, probably because the tips they can extract from pricing don't leave them thus inspired. But that's not to say they're rude. Just a little homey. So come here for cheap eats, to meet some genuine people and wolf down a few bottles of amazing root beer. But check your quahog before plunging in. read more

Went there for breakfast a while back and asked the waitress what happened to their fish&chips that used to be one of the best if not the best in the area. The two previous times I had it the fish was dry and I almost thought they changed from cod to haddock but she convinced me that they were still using cod so I thought I'd try it again. Well I'm done with Roger's fish&chip as it was not very good. The batter used to be a light & crispy golden brown with moist and juicy fish. Unfortunately, it's again a dark brown batter with over cooked dry fish. To make mates worse, there were only 2 or 3 tables so it wasn't bust at all. Nobody checked on me once to see if I had everything I needed, etc. While their breakfast isn't what it once was it's still a decent meal at a fairly good price, but I wouldn't eat there for much anything else. The multi-page menu is now a single double-sided photocopied black and white menu. A large percentage of the dishes which were previously on the menu have vanished (Including the $15 meal deal.) Portion sizes have shrunk, and quality has diminished as well. Lastly, the new menu includes somewhat drastic price increases. This place is great. They have a lot on the regular menu, but before you open the menu, consider their daily specials. I have never been disappointed only blown away that a place known for their hot dogs could be so good. You get great portions for a great price. This place is also my favorite for a good burger. I'm telling ya!!!! Don't get the small burger, get the big one that has fries and onion rings. Best burger in Fall River hands down. Today was my third visit to Rogers and as usual I left very satisfied. The atmosphere is casual and clean. Booths are available or you can sit up at the counter. Usually there is a short wait to get a booth but no more than 10 minutes in my experience. The service is fast and friendly, the employees all seem to have a positive attitude towards their customers. The food is fantastic and is the main reason I keep going back. I've tried pancakes, French toast, waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, toast and homefries and they are all very good. A full breakfast meal for two will run you about $14, and it's worth every penny. If you are in Fall River and looking for a comfortable, clean breakfast spot with delicious food check out Rogers you will not regret it. read more

We came here for late breakfast, early lunch. We were sitting a good 10 minutes before we even got menus. We ordered, both got soup, my son got a pancake. We got all of our food except for the pancake and the soup. She said his pancake will be a couple minute because the cook forgot to add the chocolate chips. Still no soup. 10 minutes into us having our food here comes his pancake, we had to ask for the soup and she proceeded to tell us no I didn't forget it, he hasn't given them to me yet. ?? What??? My son ate about 5 bites of his pancake and then proceeded to start gagging while eating it. He's 2.
