    Watery chili

When are restaurants going to realize that sometimes people just don't want to eat meat? Other than salad, there were no vegetarian options on the menu. I decided to order the $16 Mediterranean quesadilla without the chicken and asked that it have extra of the vegetables that were in it. You're mostly paying for the meat, so when you order without it, you would think they would fill it with the veggies, nope! It was the thinnest quesadilla I have ever had, definitely not worth $16. The other people in my party were equally disappointed with their food. They got the boneless buffalo wings, which I was told were flavorless. The chili was very watery and didn't come with chips, the Italian chicken dish was just ok, and the burger was nothing to write home about. It's just getting harder and harder to find a place that I feel is worth spending your money on. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I will say the vibe was pretty cool with old music videos playing on the tv and musical instruments and memorabilia on the walls.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Where we were seated was a little awkward by the computer and for much of the meal there was a server or runner, not sure what her role was because she was just standing behind us as we ate. You just don't feel like you could talk.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waitress was friendly, but I don't like when servers don't write down your order. On top of that she asked if we needed anything else, any sauces and my son asked for BBQ sauce. We didn't realize until the bill came that he was charged $2.00 for it! Really!? As if the food wasn't expensive enough, you have to charge for sauces. And if that is the case, you should let people know. Seems shady to me to sneak little things on the bill. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place wasn't too busy for a Friday night. If they want more traffic, they're gonna have to do better.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Small little changes could make this place much better. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Make sure there aren't dog poop bags by the entrance for one. That was not something you want to see before going somewhere to eat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Tried this restaurant again, and we ordered the steak. The grain was awful, and my teeth were not sharp enough to break it down. The draft IPA beer is over-priced and unfortunately the food is sub par. I just don't see myself visiting again.

I was expecting it to be a dive (I do love a good dive bar!), but Stingy Alley is beautiful and classy, with an amazing cocktail menu and small bites as well. I loved the dark wood decor, the low lighting throughout the establishment, and the accent lights at the bar are so pretty. There are many different types of seating - bar, high top tables, benches, regular tables, and a cute and comfy corner booth with throw pillows, which is where we opted to sit. Service was excellent. I was expecting to have to order at the bar, but Stingy Alley has table service. My husband ordered the espresso martini and I went with the Dubai chocolate martini. Both were outstanding - I could easily have tried a few more of the dessert cocktails, but alas we had a 40 minute drive home so that will have to wait for another visit. Will definitely come back to Stingy Alley - thanks for a lovely end to our night!

I was lucky to have tried North when it was open so when I saw the former chefs were preparing the meal for Chef Night, I knew I had to sign up and was so glad I did. The meal was stupendous! The first course was shrimp and corn fritters. The fritters were filled with shrimp and corn and you can visually see the shrimp and corn. It wasn't overly doughy and the sauce was delicious! Chef Andrew described the dish and he told us that the shrimp was locally sourced from Dune Brothers. The second course was noodles with tomato and pepper dashi and grilled fish. The noodles were fresh, but it started to get a little clumpy. The dashi was really flavorful. The third course was miso tres leches cake with sakura whipped cream. This course I was the most excited about and it totally blew my expectations. Chef Andrew told us that they hand picked sakura petals and made their own whipped cream. The tres leches cake was moist, dense, and airy. The dessert was definitely the star of the show. Bravo to chefs Andrew McQuesten and Stephen Sternkopf for a wonderful locally sourced meal. Jean-Marc and the other bartender were also very friendly and accommodating. They checked on all the customers throughout the night and made yummy drinks. I had the Toasted Venture. This is one of the signature cocktails and has Toasted Pumpkin Seed-Infused Misguided Spirits Red Sky Silver Rum/Cynar/St. George Spiced Pear Liqueur/Rosemary Elixir/Mole Bitters. It was very good. A time at Clementine's is always wonderful.

I had the osso bocco. It was a large portion , falling off the bone deliciously seasoned with a tasty spinach, grits underneath. I enjoyed every bite. I was sorry I couldn't eat it all! I shared some with others telling them how delicious it was. My friend ordered the bolognese entree which she says is the best she has ever had. Their eggplant parm sandwich was recommended as well. My husband had the shrimp fettuccine, also delicious. The kids like their chicken tenders. Hostess was friendly and sat us right away. Waiter was so nice. Took drink orders and brought everything out efficiently. Checked if we needed anything. He was great with the kids. When we complimented him on our food, he was pleased. It looks that the restaurant is adequately staffed so that the service is excellent. Ambience is good. Moderate noise but has a pleasant hum. A mixed review here. Considering we went for brunch today,…read moreJuly 5th, I think we were sat pretty quickly. The place has a really nice, comfy decor. One of the hostesses was an absolute doll. We loved her. We sat for just a little while waiting for appetizers, and my wife discovered that her ASS REALLY HURT, badly, and mine was getting bad too, due to my lack of natural cushion back there. My wife stood up and never sat back down. She noticed a 4 top leaving and asked the hostess if we could move, completely unaware of the challenges this can pose the crew during the course of business (changing table numbers in a POS isn't always as easy as it sounds). But she agreed it should be ok. They were busy, too, and I heard that they had some staff call in "sick" after a wild 4th of July. So they took care of us and I was really grateful for that. My Mexican Corn Chicken Sando was ok... the flavors kind of got mixed together on a way that it didn't really taste that awesome to me. The wife loved her Huevos Rancheros, despite the hair she found in it (after having them change our seats, she was too embarrassed to say anything about that) and the tortillas that were so Chewy, they were inedible, she really enjoyed it. Our daughter really really liked the poutine a lot. All in all, I wouldn't rush back here, but I think our main complaint was the accursed seating. Aside from the high top, man, on the regular seats you're just sitting on a flat block of wood. McDonald's has more comfortable seating, and McDonald's intentionally makes the seating slightly uncomfortable so you don't just sit there forever, taking up a table. Anyway, it was alright. Every restaurant has its difficult days (and it's difficult customers!).
