He's knowledgeable without being arrogant, and explained everything in simple terms. We made an appointment, he had the materials as promised, and had it repaired as promised. I needed the convertible top replaced on my Miata, a Google search returned this business. I was planning on going down to Austin to have the repair completed but since this is a two-day job, getting the work done in Killeen is much more convenient. I called the shop, confirmed that they could complete the job and received an acceptable estimate. I also mentioned that I didn't have a truck and asked if I could order the top and have it shipped directly to the shop and was told that that wouldn't be a problem; I got the impression that this had been done before. I asked if they could recommend any particular brand of replacement top and was told that both EZ ON and Robbins were quality brands, I went with a Robbins from TopsOnline.com. The person I spoke to at Barrett's was polite and VERY informative, so far, so good. Well, I ordered the top August 2nd, opting for the cloth because I believe it looks a bit classier than the original vinyl, seeing the new top installed I'm glad I made that choice. For any Miata types out there, the item number that I ordered was "R2917C-STBKB" with a description of "1998 thru 2005 Mazda Miata MX5 & MX5 Eunos -- 1 Piece Look Top with No Zipper Heated Defroster Glass Window With New Rain Rail" As planned, on August 8th, my top arrived at the shop, I was notified of the delivery and called to confirm receipt, I wish I had waited for the shop to call me since I could have reviewed that as well. The shop was booked up for the remainder of the week so the install actually began a few days later, I used their drop-off service and dropped my car off in the evening. The install was expected to take two days but took three, this wasn't a big deal, I'd much rather the top be installed professionally than quickly, and this was a beautiful install! I apologize to the business for this review being dated by a couple of months but that is actually a good thing, I've had a few more weeks to review both the top and the install. I am comfortable taking my Miata through touch-free carwashes and this top performs well under such conditions, I also drove through the heavy rain generated by Hurricane Harvey and thanks to some cool mornings, I've been able to test out the rear defrost. We have an 18 year old couch that had, well...some nesting signs on one end. We shopped for a replacement at every local furniture store, but the quality of furniture for sale right now is pathetic. Seriously, it's a national embarrassment. Anyway, we brought our couch to Barrett's and explained the issue. They removed old padding and replaced. The couch is good as new for 1/5th the cost of an equitable replacement. Staff was very professional. Will be a return customer. read more

I took my 1996 Dodge Dakota in for upholstery repairs. This had been may late father's truck which he purchased new in 1995 and only has 67,000 miles; however, it had been parked outside for many years in the Texas sun, and the interior was in bad shape. My goal was to return it to as new original condition as possible. It was obvious that Billy and his staff understood and respected my desires and made sure it was done right. Ruuuuuuuddddddeeeee ALERT!!!!! This guy that you talk to has the personality of a sour grape! . I was made to feel beneath him and He was rude to my wife over the phone . He was recommended by several people but his mannerism is very standoffish . When I called another business owner that recommended him his response was that of " yes we know he is a rash person and treats everyone like DIRT !" Worn out drivers seat all the way down to the foam. Had something that matched my original seat and fixed the foam like new. Took a full day, but what good shop doesn't. Will be back for any other fixes. read more

My sunroof popped one day while driving to work. My insurance immediately sent over a matching sunroof to get replaced. They contacted me as soon as they received the sunroof. They were considerate of the weather and trying to get it fixed as soon as possible. They did a great job and very nice people! read more

Barrett's has reupholstered my dining chairs and 2 patio sets. We were extremely satisfied with the results. The dining chairs look better than when they were brand new. I am puzzled by the other reviews on this site. I wonder if they are from a competitor since my experiences with Barrett's has been positive and professional.
