New truck, same great food. I love the Barrio Thursday specials. Family operated by Eddie & Carla these Mexican Style Smash Burgers are really tasty. The wait can be long not because of bad service, but because it is that popular.

Inventive burgers with really solid flavor combinations. These aren't smash burgers in the traditional sense, they lean more Mexican-style, and the patties are on the thinner side. They're a little messy in the best way, though, and everything is well seasoned and intentional. Worth it. The setting is part of the charm. Barrio is posted up at Filthy McNasty's, super chill vibe with picnic benches, friendly crowd, and when I rolled in they were literally setting up a heat lamp to keep things comfortable. Felt welcoming right away. Service was good, people were genuinely nice, and it's the kind of spot you can hang at without feeling rushed. Easy place to come back to for burgers and a relaxed night

Barrio Burger is so good! The burgers are packed with flavor -- even the bun tastes amazing. The grilled jalapeño is HOT (in the best way) and adds the perfect kick. Staff was super friendly and helpful too. Definitely coming back!

Omg I'm drooling over these menus!

Beyond perfect and absolutely worth any wait time! The service is incredible every single time. Erick and Carla and their crew work so hard and deserve so much love and support. They are all such great people. They always maintain the absolute tip top quality of every burger they've ever made, including the seasoned fries no matter how many orders they have. I get so excited for the burgers, especially the mushroom and Swiss. And also the bacon and cheddar (pro tip, add a fried egg with this one). But the fries! They are perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Their homemade ranch is also fantastic! I'm obsessed with the seasoning too. There's so many other choices that they offer. I'm definitely trying that deep fried uncrustables soon! I need that kind of positivity in my life, like all the time. We love you Carla, Erick, and crew. You all deserve the absolute best.

I visited Barrio Burger on a Thursday when they run their $10 dollar promotion. Unfortunately, my experience was different this time. We were made aware that it was going to be a while for us to get our order which we were completely fine with, we don't mind waiting for food as long as it's served fresh. When we got our order my husband's burger looked and tasted good but it was obvious that my burger had been sitting for a while. The whole thing was cold, the bun was flat, the fries smelled like they were fried in old oil and had a port like smell to them. Having waited an hour for our order I was very disappointed. I truly enjoy their burgers and hope that the next time I visit I get the same quality I am use to, maybe I will skip Thursdays!

Burger!! I'd already eaten the fries!!

Had the Swiss and Mushroom smash burger with fries yesterday!! Wow... that was a great smash burger!! A nice skirt of cheese with grilled onions... and a nice order of fries... absolutely delicious!! It's reasonably priced and service was very friendly and quick!! I will be going again!!

The Chilanga, for when you're really hungry
    Jeff V.

This food truck has one of my favorite burgers in town. This includes traditional burgers, gourmet burgers and smash burgers. I've tried all of their burger options and haven't been disappointed yet. Besides being some of the best tasting burgers, they even have the best priced options. Every burger comes with perfectly crispy fries and a spicy grilled jalapeño. This is the spot I recommend to all of my friends, you won't be disappointed!

    Chilanga
    Tania B.

The Chilanga is just one of the many bold burgers on their menu, and it does not disappoint. Stacked with two juicy beef patties, ham, bacon, and sausage, layered with Swiss and American cheese, grilled onions, crisp lettuce, tomato, and chipotle mayo -- it's smoky, cheesy, and packed with flavor. A must-try for any burger lover.

Honest food review: That char is done just right- 5/5 When my buddy said, barrio burgers I thought... barrio in Spanish means these are either going to be amazing, or slap me around and let's just say they slapped me around in the right way! American: 5/5 -The American is the first option available for order, so you have to try the original and let's just say... it gets you to an adventure that I'm about to share with you all. With smash burgers, understand that there is an art to getting the right level of Maillard reaction with just enough char, when I tell you that you get a fatty, juicy, and smashed right burger, your mouth goes on a texture flow. From the crispy bite that meets a delicious sauce, and fresh shredduce and tomatoes, you have onions that aren't sooooo strong but give it enough of a sweet just tingle as your taste buds want to go in for another bite. When you think of a smashed burger... this hits most buckets you could ask for. The fries were texturally pleasing and tasted pretty good with the homemade ranch they sell. Deep fried PB&J: 7/5 -I have tasted some pretty amazing hole in the wall finds, as well as some fine dining bites, but... let me tell you that the simplicity of these almost churro like textured sugar and cinnamon mini tacos as I'll call them.... Left me in shock. The unexpected bite that I took as everyone was trying them, not expecting the marriage of pb&j to stun me... left me with almost a tear in my eye... it was such a Deja vu moment of deliciousness that I can tell you... would definitely please many looking for a small dessert. Definitely recommend

Service excellent, ambiance meh, need more shade during the hotter months for those of us that burn easily The food. One bacon and cheese and one mushroom Swiss both with sauce on top and bottom. Honestly, they were both good burgers. I told my wife that the mushroom Swiss was the best one I have had in the area. We would love to have them again but don't plan to do so standing outside in the elements (old people here ). Why a four instead of a five. We were charged more than expected. It was roughly 30 cents or so, so maybe a tax error?

I have been stalking this burger truck for months !!! Finally the stars aligned just right on my birthday and I was able to order the burger I've been craving. The mushroom Swiss had so much flavor - well seasoned, the right amount of gooey cheese and lots of sliced sautéed mushrooms and grilled onions. It was a perfect burger. Fries, I'm usually picky on. These fries are incredible. Crispy crunchy outer coating with piping hot fluffy insides. Barrio offers 4 different burgers and a hotdog all made to order. Allow 10 minutes or so for meal. They usually post on Wednesdays where the truck will Friday through Sunday. Quite often he is in the Midtown area. But follow on Facebook for special pop ups.

The menu! They offer a fried egg for ultimate umami!

Before you go in, there is signs that says expect a 20 minute wait or more for a burger. If that is an issue for you, this isn't the spot for you. I've gone here a few times. The most recent time with my parents and aunt. I was a bit skeptical taking them to a dive bar for a burger since I wasn't sure how they would react to it. I didn't know until after the meal that they had a whole back section that would have been a lot better of an experience for them. They have a lot of tables and room back there whereas the front is either a bar, one table, or more a a lounge set up. There is also a outdoor area, but it had been a bit windy and sprinkling throughout the day so that isn't an option. I've done the Frenchified burger and the chile burger. Both times i opted for the fries over the chips and feel like I need to try the chips. Burger comes with two patties, a great bun, than the rest is up to you on which you choose. The fries are what I would consider shoe string fries, but maybe slightly thicker. I'm usually not a fan of shoestring fries, but I polished them off easily both times. My parents and aunt are harder to please. They like ingredients that speak for themselves and don't like too much sauces. All 3 of them really enjoyed it and I'm sure they will all be back. They have been looking for a good burger in Reno and I think this was it for them.

The owner of Ruby Shake Shop routinely parks his Audi in the limited public street parking spaces along South Virginia Street directly in front of Raising Cane's, Ike's Love & Sandwiches, and the surrounding businesses. Anyone familiar with this area knows parking can already be difficult, especially during peak hours when people are trying to grab lunch, pick up an order, or make a quick stop. What makes this particularly frustrating is that these spaces appear to be occupied for extended periods of time, often throughout the day, by someone who owns and operates a nearby business. Public street parking in a busy commercial corridor is a shared resource intended to serve customers and visitors, not to function as a personal parking space for a single business owner. This review is not a reflection of the products or service at Ruby Shake Shop. It is simply feedback regarding what appears to be an extremely inconsiderate use of limited public parking in an area where parking availability already impacts customers and neighboring businesses.

Garlic butter burger and Texas Toothpicks which is beer battered onions and jalapeños. In my opinion this burger starts with the bread.. Delicious soft bun that actually fits the patty. The patty had a nice sear on it, it was under seasoned and almost well done. The burger was lacking salt component to complement the garlic. Had the burger been seasoned, and had I have ordered it medium rare, (my mistake) it would have been really good. The burger did come without condiments which I appreciate because I can put my own in appropriate amounts to my liking. I added a pinch of salt, no complaining and we were good to go! The fries were served super crispy, piping hot and perfectly salted. The order came with carrots and celery without having to ask. Ranch.. Ranch is a serious condiment in our household with food like this. It was good. An appropriate amount was served with wings, and of course for us fries and ranch go hand in hand.
