Updating this review because I clearly caught them on the wrong day the first time. My original visit was during Food Truck Friday, which I've since learned is not really the environment to judge them. Volume is the priority and things move fast. Seeing the burgers again (and hearing consistent feedback from people who go regularly), it's obvious these smash burgers are the real deal. Crispy edges, melty cheese, exactly what you want from that style of burger. The fries are also very solid -- which I usually don't even bother ordering with burgers but these are worth it. Sometimes first impressions aren't the whole story. Happy to correct the record here. NOLA is doing something right. I've been lucky enough to enjoy NOLA Sliders twice now, and I'm officially obsessed. The seasoning and crispness on their patties are perfection. Yesterday, after a long hike, I knew they'd be at House by the River that evening--and I looked forward to that burger all day. I've tried a few of their creations: the crawfish special (not really my thing since I'm not a shellfish fan, but my boyfriend LOVED it), the original, and now my personal favorite--the Cowboy. That sauce, the jalapeños, and that juicy burger patty? Absolute magic. It doesn't come with pickles, and when I asked, the guy said, "You don't want pickles on this," but he still gave me some on the side. If you are looking for a no frills smash burger, this is your spot! The menu is small because they know what they do, and they do it well. Crispy, salty edges on each patty and melty cheese makes every bite worth the calories. The only thing on my wish list is that their schedule was a bit more transparent and consistent for those last minute cravings. Friggin solid little tasty burger for $10. Been wanting to try this place and glad I finally did, and what a better location then posted up at the Eddy downtown. Crispy smashburger, EPIC soft bun, yummy sauce. Super friendly service and the burger was done in less the 5 minutes. Can't wait to grab these tasty little morsels again when I see the truck. Jeremiah is a great dude who is always grinding in order to provide the best food he knows. You may get hit by a sticker shock moment of spending a couple bucks more than you want but for a "slider" it is a far bigger burger than you think and plenty of food. I have never been disappointed when I have stopped by his truck at an event or out in the wild. He always posts where he is going to be on Instagram and is such a good, genuine guy that you want him to be successful. Finally tried NOLA. I love simple menus as it doesn't require much thinking and it should mean they do what they do best. Two sliders for $13 seems a bit pricey even in today's market. They were simple and tasty but definitely not oozing sauce as I've seen in their pictures. Honestly great to see new faces popping up in the food truck industry here. The owner is super nice and has a great sense of passion in his craft. I came by when they first showed up. It's been nice to see them gain traction. They are the first real deal smash burger spot in the form of sliders here in Northern NV. The owner migrated from New Orleans to take a chance on the Biggest Little City I feel like this is a spot to watch. The owner is still new to Reno but not new to the food scene.
