    Fried Chicken & Churros**
    Jacqueline L.

Came for brunch and would not come back. Ordered the peach and guava mimosa and they were warm and flat. Plus the server mixed them up when bringing the drinks. When we tried them we realized she accidentally gave us each other's. No big deal but it happened again with the food when a different server brought it out. We ordered chilaquiles; one with chicken and one with carnitas. It was not bad but way spicier than anticipated, and we like spicy food. Service was also not great. She stopped once to take our order and once to bring the drinks. That's it. We did not get checked on until we were already almost done with our food. Cute patio. Inside seating wasn't busy at all.

The service and food was terrible. It took a while for someone to even come to the table to greet us. Once greeted, it still took about 30 mins just to get drinks. The drinks were better than the food. I ordered the chicken nachos. I expected the cheese to be melted liquid cheese. It was a very small portion of barely melted mozarella cheese. So. I ordered a cup of queso. The meat was so dry along with the Mexican corn. The food just wasn't good. The atmosphere is easily for dates, friend outings, after work outings etc. The restaurant decor is nice. It puts you in the mind of a European garden. There is no parking but a garage across the street along with metered Street parking. Beware parking cost $46 for about 2.5 hrs. The food bill was $141, way too expensive for tacos and a few margaritas. I will pass on this place.

I highly recommend for a happy hour with coworkers or friends. The prices are great! $9 margs and $5 apps, which is cheaper than many HH places. The service is fast as well. I will say it feels up around 5pm, even though HH is from 4-6pm. The outdoor patio ambiance is really cute as well especially in the nicer weather.

What a great place to come for a happy hour! Our server was so nice and very attentive. The food was so yummy and very well priced. All of food tasted so good and was seasoned really well. My personal favorite was the mocktail mule, the cheese and poblano empanada, and the cinnamon churros with the caramel sauce. Would definitely come back here!

What a fun spot! We had reservations (glad we did) and sat in the bar area at a high-top table along the window. Perfect seat in my opinion. Views of the city right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of downtown Chicago. What I tried: + chips and queso - 8/10 + ribeye with rice and beans (was a special) - 7.5/10 + spicy margarita - 8/10 Great service!

Food was plated well. Loved the chips. Good drink refills. Ambiance was great! There are many windows around but also TVs with sports games. Have to make a reservation as with most places in Chicago.

Cinco de Mayo at Barrio was EVERYTHINGGG We fully committed to the holiday and ordered honestly the entire menu and somehow every single thing that came out was better than the last. Starting with margaritas (because obviously ‍), queso and chips that were dangerously good, and the chicken empanadas that came out perfectly crispy with so much flavor. We kept looking at each other after every bite like "okay wait... THIS is the best thing here" and then another plate would arrive and prove us wrong again The carnitas fried rice??? I genuinely cannot stop thinking about it. So savory, flavorful, comforting, and packed with crispy carnitas on top with the eggs and pickled onions... literally unreal. And then the skirt steak tacos absolutely stole the show. The steak was cooked perfectly, packed with flavor, and paired so perfectly with all the toppings and sauces. Every single bite tasted fresh and homemade in the best way possible. And can we talk about the ambience for a second because WOW. The music, the energy, the vibe inside, everyone celebrating, the drinks flowing -- it felt like the perfect Cinco de Mayo dinner spot. The service was also AMAZING from start to finish and made the entire experience even better. One of those dinners where you leave already talking about when you're coming back If you're looking for the place to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, date night, tacos & margaritas, or honestly just an incredible dinner in general... this is IT

Celebrated birthday past weekend and it was such a great experience. The service was excellent and recommendations by staff was helpful. They do have mocktail options which is awesome! The Ambiance was on point. parking was not a issue (literally 2min walk to parking garage). Definitely a place to visit for lunch/dinner

I visited Barrio twice so far for Happy Hour events on behalf of non-profit organizations that I'm a part of. The events took place in a back room where they had seating areas and even a private bar. The waiters went around offering different kinds of small bites like mini burgers, a tuna taco, and more. The food was delicious! I totally recommend this spot & I'm definitely planning to come back!

(Kari's Rating 8/10) Came here with a group of seven before a concert, we got seated right away in a U-shaped booth in the back. Our server Sarah was really sweet and very knowledgeable about the menu and helped guide our choices as we selected drinks. We are also right next to the bar, which means we got served relatively quickly. We got two plates of these steak tacos, which were both flavorful and juicy. We got an order of fish tacos, which were pretty crispy and the table side guac. The guac needed a little salt but it was really delicious. I think as far as taco places go it was pretty good little fancy but we're in River North so I guess that makes sense. I would come back for the corn, but I probably wouldn't come back for any other food. Drinks were pretty typical and service was relative quick.

So easy to find and eat at a restaurant when they use OpenTable! Had the pleasuring of dining here on a Saturday night with a college. We had a reservation at 6:30 pm and we were very pleased by the aesthetic of the restaurant! Classy, dim cool atmosphere. There was so much going on for a Saturday night with birthdays and a bachelorette party at nearby tables. The service was exceptional with fast service, promptness, and great recommendations. We ended up getting their table side nachos and it was so cool to see them make the guac in front of us. They used two whole avocados! The guac was so creamy and delicious. We also got elotes to share and it was good! Great flavors by itself and adding lemon made it so zesty. I ended up ended up getting their Bario burger, and it was fantastic. Great serving of meat, soft bun, and lots of great toppings condensed in the burger. Would come here again and get their taco tower!

Recently went here for dinner and their food is just okay and overpriced for the portion sizes. Service could use a significant improvement too. Every time I eat here, we get a nonchalant waiter that doesn't want to help.

Barrio has a private indoor space called Mosaic. It's quite spacious with acoustics for a live dj. The bar is well equipped. I tried the wagyu meatballs and they were tasty. Its newly renovated for private events.

All the premier dinners come with salad, cheese, fondue, and the chocolate fondue - You are just choosing what protein you would like. The Prince Geja combination has a little bit of everything. However, we most liked the seafood which includes lobster and the scallops were to die for! Also the beef also cooks well. Favorite dipping sauce included the pimento mayo, chimichurri, and garlic butter. The cheese fondue is quite rich and the bread is quite filling so maybe get as much cheese as you can on each piece of bread. The chocolate fondue, I think is actually the best course as the Belgium chocolate melts so well and has a decadent but not overly sweet flavor. It pairs well with all that is provided for dipping, which includes poundcake, rice Krispies, strawberries. They also have some liquor that they light on fire at first so you can roast the marshmallows. It is such a well thought out experience. Service flows very well from two waiters who take your order set up your fondue pots for each course, but be prepared to spend at least 2 hours on this experience. Check out the Groupon but also I read a review that they just tack on the extra $50 so it's not really too much of a savings. Not sure if this is true.

I came here with three others and we all ordered different things from the brunch menu along with a few drinks. The atmosphere here is open, modern, and pretty eye catching, we all heard a few negative comments about brunch here and rather than just taking words of advice we came anyways. To be honest we should've went elsewhere, the only thing about the food that actually seemed to have any flavor was the fries and even they were a little salty like my wallet when we left LOL The Jumbo (not so much) Lump Crab Benedict at $25 was honestly boring lacking any flavor also it didn't even come with potatoes I ended up sharing my Lincoln Park Turkey Club that was good but even it was pretty basic at $21, the Burger at $21 literally looked like something off the kids menu the bun was bigger than the patty LOL and the Blackened Chicken Caesar at $19 was more like an appetizer size and the chicken at least it was juicy not dry. Other reviews about brunch here seem to be about the same and honestly I think it's funny they don't even try to elevate their food when so many say about the same things. I think the only reason why people come to this place is 1. It's located in Lincoln Park and 2. that makes it a trendy spot to eat. So why bother fixing anything when it's just trendy and flavorless Their brunch is mediocre but apparently dinner is where it's at. However after the experience with brunch I'm not even sure I would even go back. I really wanted to like it; this was a nine-year anniversary dinner. The restaurant felt a bit bare and sterile, I think I was maybe expecting a little more decor on the table for a Michelin star restaurant. To echo several of the reviews below, the salad was awkward to share and scanty, the soup was good but the bread served with it felt like an afterthought, the sturgeon wasn't anything special though the sauce was quite good, and we are pretty sure the cut of beef was not wagyu or if it was it was not cooked the right way. The beef was the most disappointing part, I couldn't even chew through all of it. The add-ons were the best part - pasta was great and our dessert was delicious. But the rest of the meal was unfortunately mediocre. Hoping that others have a different experience with the regular menu!
