I've waited to leave a review because it took me a while to collect my thoughts on my experience. The staff was warm and friendly just as they'd always been in past experiences. My exam went great and I felt comfortable. When the exam was over I told them I wanted to order contacts as well as have updated prescription lenses replaced in my current glasses. They said it would be no problem and it could be done right then and there if I had the time to wait. Unfortunately, when I did receive my glasses there was some odd smudge on the lens itself. It was practically right in the middle of the right lens so I couldn't avoid it. It wasn't a stubborn fingerprint, it wasn't a water stain, it was smooth seemed like it was just the lens. I raised my issue with the man who made the lenses(not the same person who preformed my eye exam) and he completely dismissed my concerns and tried to convince me that my eyes were just getting used to new lenses, that I might feel a little off or dizzy the first couple tries. Every time he tried to convince me it was just my eyes getting used to new lenses he also was progressively getting shorter and more stern in his responses to me. I reassured him that that was not the case because I could actually see a smudge mark on the lens. I could see him becoming more irritated and confrontation makes me very uncomfortable so I just gave up, left with a product I wasn't happy with, and felt completely defeated and embarrassed for even trying to advocate for myself. I ended up never using those glasses. Instead they sit in my medicine cabinet so when I open it up every morning to get ready for the day it acts as a reminder for me to speak up for myself. The experience turned me off so much I never went back and what's really disheartening about the whole thing was I had a really good experience up until that point. If he had at least looked at my lenses to see what I was talking about maybe I would've felt like he actually cared about me as a customer. And now reading some of these reviews I am feeling like maybe the attitude towards unhappy customers could be better handled. Conflict resolution is so important. I would suggest they just genuinely listen to their customer's concerns without immediately dismissing them. Once someone feels dismissed that's the beginning of the end with that customer. read more

Initially, my visit with Dr. Barrios was timely and pleasant. I came in for a standard yearly eye exam, as well as some eyewear. All went smoothly, and Dr. Barrios's warm and charismatic persona left me leaving with confidence in his practice. Shortly after the visit, I came back in to pick up my glasses and contact lenses. The lady at the front desk was the one who fit my glasses to my face, but had trouble doing so. Dr. Barrios finished the job with ease. I also noticed my glasses case looked like it was used, so after a little pushing, the young lady at the front desk replaced it with a new one. I mean, when you're paying $580 for a pair of glasses, you expect the case to be in new condition, right? Several months later, the real entertainment began. I was quite unhappy with the glasses I had purchased from them, as with only minimal use during nights, they would become so loose that the bridge of the glasses would sink halfway down my nose. This was after several professional adjustments, including the initial adjustment of Dr. Barrios of course. At this point in time, I was no longer living in the area, and figured there was nothing that could be done. I decided to order a couple of glasses online, as the prices are incomparably lower. When asking Dr. Barrios's front desk receptionist for my prescription, they did it without an issue. But getting ahold of my pupillary distance (essential in ordering your glasses, especially online), I was told it was illegal for them to give out. I spoke to a lawyer in the family, and did some light Googling, when I found that it is in fact illegal if your doctor does NOT give out your PD. Dr. Barrios was then contacted at his direct email by my lawyer, and replied with a lengthy text explaining that he always gives out a patient's PD if requested, and would have never said such things as he had previously told his receptionist to convey. Ironically enough, I heard him in the background that day on the phone. He clearly stated he would not give out the PD. At last, I received my pupillary distance in the email. His defensive tone did not help his case, to say the least. When using the given PD, it was found out that this PD was incorrect, and significantly different from my actual pupil distance (6 mm). Unfortunately I had trusted the initial reading I was given, and it cost me two pairs of glasses. I find it hard to believe he made an error when he initially calculated by PD, especially considering the first pair of eyewear did not make me feel crosseyed(unlike the following two pairs I ordered). The first pair allowed me to see flawlessly. It has been about a year since my exam with Dr. Barrios, but that does not change the validity of my statements. I can only hope that these issues do not arise with anyone else. read more

AVOID! 2 years ago I was a new patient and the doctor made an error on my eyeglasses prescription, which was a hassle but luckily they did at least fix it, this year not so lucky. I changed to daily contacts and the doctor made a recommendation. After wearing them consistently, found that they were quite uncomfortable. I called wanting to exchange my unopened, un-damaged boxes for something different, which I never had an issue with for past doctors. They gave me the excuse they couldn't do that due to COVID and even if they could would have to charge me a restocking fee and a new contact fitting fee (which is bogus because my exam was 2 months ago) and you get fit for contacts overall, not each individual brand. I suspected a lie on the COVID excuse and after calling another doctor's office had that confirmed, there is no COVID related reason for not exchanging unopened and un-damaged boxes. Will never go here again and recommend you go somewhere that actually cares about their patients long term! read more

I scheduled an appointment at this facility for a full eye exam which includes MY full prescription. I came here due to it being within 10 minutes of my home. Eye doctor was very friendly and informative, eye exam was how you would expect one to be. When I left I noticed an important detail missing from my prescription, my pupillary distance measurement. I went back in and requested my PD measurement because I needed it to order eye glasses elsewhere as my insurance does not cover any. The employee "Sergio" flat out refused to provide the measurement due to not purchasing the eye glasses at the location. He advised me that there would be a $35 additional fee for this one measurement. I told him my wife got her FULL prescription at her eye doctor without a problem. He told me that i should have went to my wife's eye doctor. After going back and forth with "Sergio" the eye doctor came out and provided me with my full exam which included my PD measurement. No ones medical records should be withheld from them. My insurance PAID you for a full eye exam and you withhold something because you want to be greedy and unprofessional. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

Dr. Barrios is such a nice guy. He's very outgoing and explains everything in detail. I got my days mixed up for my appointment last week and he was kind enough to wait for me. Very professional and respectful. His receptionist is kind too! I definitely recommend him and his team. Really enjoyed my visit! read more

Dr. Barrios was very professional and office staff were very helpful

The doctor was great but his staff was not professional at all. I had to wait over 40 minutes for them to process an order for a pair of glasses because they had no clue how to work their system. I was the only one in the store and the doctor even had to get involved with inputting the transaction into the computer. I never seen this type of confusion ... it was entertaining after awhile. read more

Dr Barrios was very attentive and listen to all my concerns for my daughter. We didn't feel rush he took it time to go over any concerns I had We were able to get the new glasses on the same day. my daughter love it's there. We will definitely be going back. Dr. Barrios is as good as it gets. He is very nice and very patient. He didn't rush through the exam and gave me ample time during my appointment and addressed all my concerns about my vision. He also has a great selection of glasses. read more
