I have been a patient of In Focus Vision Center since around 2017 or 2018, and since then my family has joined on the patient roster. My very first appointment was with Dr. Ray Corbin-Simon. From the beginning I've always been impressed by the quality of care and services rendered by all doctors and staff. The office environment is bright, clean, modern, and inviting. They used to have a Keurig coffee station in the waiting room (before COVID-19). I believe that Dr. Corbin-Simon is the owner which would make this optometry practice a M/WBE. Highly recommend the added services to screen for eye health even though these services are not traditionally covered by insurance. OptoMap ($39) looks at the back of the eye, and iWellness ($39) looks at the layers of the eye. I requested both for a discounted price of $59. I found the optomap reading to be very thorough and illuminating although, but iWellness was not so simple to understand. read more

Since I've learned perfection takes time..... since then I've continued to be a patient of In Focus Vision and will not be straying any time soon. It's been a few years since i last saw Dr.Corbin but I've seen Dr. Latorre my last few visits and she is AWESOME! Understanding, patient, and funny. Great optometrist and they have another location in Metechun as well. Dr. Latorre switched me over to the daily contacts and they are such a big improvement from monthlys. I was shopping around for new glasses and was going to go with Warby Parker at first until I realized those glasses were a cheap quality and would not suit well with my high prescription. The glasses I got here look and feel great and came at a very reasonable price with a years worth of insurance on the frames. The Metechun location could have used more selection for frames, but the Piscateay office has a more extensive collection. read more

Decided to try out this eye doctor due to the good yelp reviews. There was very minimal wait, and Dr. Latorre and the assistant were pleasant. As a contact lens wearer, I've had fittings for contacts, that have always been charged as standard contacts fittings, which are covered by my insurance. This was the first eye doctor that charges all contacts fittings as premium fitting for new patients, and it is $98. Without disclosing the charge beforehand, there was nothing I can do but pay the co-pay since it's partially covered. My insurance provides $55 allowance for premium fittings, but $98 for the fitting is way over-the-top. Lesson learned: always ask how much contacts fittings are for new patients read more

Both the young lady who fitted my glasses, and the one who took care of me when I picked them up, were knowledgeable and friendly. The office is small, but well laid out. It's brightly lit, modern, well appointed, and pleasantly designed. The selection of frames is small. The fitting is done manually except for pupilary distance. I'll use them again. read more

Dr. Corbin and her staff are awesome. Very pleasant group of people and always have a great experience with all my appointments. My wife, son and I all go to Dr. Corbin to get our examinations and glasses and have never had a negative experience. The offices use of technology is impressive, as you hardly see a piece of paper during your visit. Check-in on an iPad, all test results are computerized. I have been going to Dr Corbin for a numbers of years. Her equipment is up to date and the eye exams are VERY extensive. She does not rush you out the door and is willing to explain any eye issues. I've had glasses for more than 10 years, so I have some experience with ophthalmologists, and I have to say I really appreciate the level of service at In Vision. Everyone is super nice/friendly, and it's refreshing that the technicians have the knowledge and willingness to answer questions you may have. Dr Corbin-Smith was also warm and patient, explaining all the tests that she was doing and for what purpose. They also did some tests that other eye doctors haven't done for me e.g. color blindness and spacial recognition. Their contacts ordering service is also painless, you can order them over the phone or online and they have it mailed to your house. I would definitely recommend them! The only thing is the have traditional office hours and no weekend hours, but it's worth it. read more

STAY FAR AWAY!!!!. Front desk is sub par. I previously went here for past 5+ years. Apparently mid way through 2017 they stopped carrying my insurance, which I found out when I got to my appointment. Why this wasn't mentioned when I called to schedule the appointment is beyond me. The receptionist fed me lies that my medical insurance would cover my visit. Well that wasn't the case and they sent me a bill for the full cost. What normally would have been $10 visit cost me over $200. Don't trust a word they say. They are designed to upsell you! I have been going to In-Focus Vision for a few years now and am very very happy with the end to end service. Recently I was trying to go back to contacts as I wanted to wear them for my daughter's wedding. Due to certain conditions I have, it was not an easy case. Dr. Corbin worked extremely hard and even pulled a miracle off in getting a delivery in from the manufacturer. She spent a lot of time with me in getting just the right pair. I went here to finally try contacts out. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Dr. Corbin conducted my eye exam as well as my contact fitting and she was very patient and kind. She also tried to make sure I got the contacts that really fit my eyes and were comfortable. She left me with extra contacts before my supply came in the mail. This is probably the best eye doctors office I've ever been to. I had recently had an awful experience with another optometrist, and desperately needed a new check up. My fiancé had been seeing Dr. Corbin-Smith, and recommended that I try to get an appointment with them. My insurance only authorizes one eye exam a year. I had called in-focus to see if there was anything they can do for me. Just my first phone call was an amazing experience. The receptionist was so so so nice. She guided me on how to call the insurance company and explain that I had an awful experience with another doctor and would like authorization to come to in focus. The insurance company immediately gave me re-authorization to go to in focus. Megan (one of the staff members) had already put me on file and was in the works of setting up an appointment for me before I even called back. The day of my appointment everything was quick, and smooth. They offer modern testing at a very reasonable price. Megan did my assessments prior to meeting with the doctor, and she did a fantastic job at helping me feel comfortable. I met with Dr. Latorre who also did an awesome job at helping me feel comfortable, and providing me with great visual aids on understanding my eye exam results. I am very particular about all my doctors, and tend to stick with doctors that I love. My fiancé and I will be patients of this facility for life now. Mediocre place at best. After this last visit, I definitely will not be going back. The female optometrist flipped out because I declined the glaucoma testing. They don't do the "air puff" method; instead, they have a machine that requires you to keep your eyes wide open as a metal probe moves toward your eyeball until it makes contact. I told her there was no way I could keep still for that. After a few tries, I kept flinching and freaking out, so I told her I wanted to skip the test and move on. She got really nasty and told me that my problem was that I didn't trust her, to which I replied, you're right, I don't! Lol. I assume the office needs to recoup the money they spent on this machine by billing insurance companies for as many glaucoma tests as possible, so me declining it really pissed her off. If you're in the market for eyeglasses, this place is truly a waste of time - there is only a small selection of frames and they are all hideous and outdated. read more
