Barron Dental is a great place to go. I've had quality care from minor work to major work. It starts with the friendly staff, the experts in each field and Dr. Barron herself. Everyone has gone above and beyond. I definitely feel I'm in good hands and among friends. The office is comfortable, from flowers and books to read. I always had a terrible fear of dental work and though no one likes it, this office does everything possible to keep you comfortable and relaxed. In response to Barron Family Dental's reply: Before my appointment, I took deliberate steps to confirm that Barron Family Dental was in-network for my specific plan -- Cigna DPPO Advantage. I provided my physical insurance card to your front desk, explicitly asked for verification based on that plan, and was told more than once that your office and the treating provider were in-network. After receiving a significantly higher-than-expected bill, I contacted Cigna directly. During that call -- which occurred shortly after the appointment -- a Cigna representative and I searched their system for Dr. Abigail Nye. At the time, she was not listed under any Cigna network. Not just for my plan -- she simply did not appear in their provider system at all. Now, after the fact, Dr. Nye appears in Cigna's directory -- but only under the Total and Total Plus plan networks. She is still not listed under Cigna DPPO Advantage, which is the plan I have. Yet your office's own PDF -- linked on your website -- explicitly lists "Cigna DPPO Advantage Dentist" under accepted in-network plans. That was part of what influenced my decision to book with your office. The issue here is not just confusion over plan names. It's about negligent misrepresentation. I presented my insurance card, asked your staff to verify network status for my specific plan, and was assured that I was covered. Cigna's billing and coverage records -- both then and now -- do not support that assurance. I was billed at out-of-network rates because the provider was not, and is still not, in-network for my plan. Even if your network affiliations have since changed, that does not retroactively justify what happened at the time of my appointment. Patients have a legal and ethical right to rely on what they're told by a provider's staff when verifying coverage. If I had been informed honestly that the provider wasn't in-network, I would have made a different decision. This situation has caused avoidable financial harm, and I've submitted documentation to the appropriate regulatory authorities. The inconsistency between what your staff communicated, what your website claimed, and what Cigna confirmed is not acceptable. Your website says advantage dentists and I have a ppo advantage plan. Your desk people literally took my card twice and assured me I was covered, intentional or not if it wasn't untrue, that doesn't excuse it from being a point of negligent misrepresentation. This truly is a clear cut small claims case. As well as I have transcripts of the call logs with Cigna dental. Whether or not the dental board wants to waste their time with it is one thing but that doesn't mean that what I'm saying is incorrect. In fact I have a feeling a small claims court would see otherwise. read more

A Hygienist is not licensed to do more than clean teeth. They are prohibited by law from using a drill in anyone's mouth to shape a tooth, to do anything invasive, or that is outside the legal limits of their licensure that could harm the integrity of a tooth. Barron passes the duty to her favorite and believes that just because she's worked with her for years, that this is acceptable. That hygienist jacked my tooth leading to damage to another and Barron tried to excuse and normalize this. When I spoke out, she tried to bully me and gaslight me. Barron is a decent dentist. Her office staff are sweet. But, her hygienists act like border patrol. Her judgement and practice are not representative of CO law. This office is all about the upsale. If she says you need a root canal, get another opinion. Find someone else if you wish to avoid further financial and physical harm. read more

Never thought I would rave about a dentist practice but Dr. Jessica Barron deserves all the praise in the world for what she built. Never an issue with the front desk, scheduling, or any logistics in coordination. All the staff is super knowledgably and they spot issues and root cause of the pain which translates to me that everyone knows what they are doing and is well trained. Now the fun stuff... My 4 year old daughter LOVES going to the dentist, it's always fun for her and she gets to pick from the treasure box on her way out. The staff also lets her get involved with my cleaning. I have been going to Barron Family Dental for over 10 years. I followed her over from her previous practice because she always give me high quality care. My teeth are like a used car I take them in for repair and she is able to stretch the wear and tear on my teeth at an affordable price. If only she offered a protection plan I would buy it..lol Just recently I finally got my wife to come over and she is getting the same awesome quality care. I was a patient of Dr Nihl. I am handicap and have health issues so I have had to cancel a few times. The last appointment scheduled I woke up feeing uneasy. Gerring dressed my Stomach let loose I continued dressing hoping this was a one shot. However, I kept having to use the bathroom. Finally decided it was best to cancel. Short notice so I expected a cancel fee. Ccslled office person on phone had wrong procedure listed need bridge not cavities. Asked if I want to reschedule was told they no longer were in my network so pay out of network. I chose to find a dentist in my network. Few weeks later received cancel bill of $150.00. Be sure you read the office policy and rules carefully and check procedure you are to have carefully. I feel I am being ripped off perhaps I made Barron Family Dentistry angry with me. read more

Very thorough new client exam. I asked a bunch of questions and still the dentist sat with me, answering everything patiently. I never felt rushed. I was very impressed at first. Then I was not happy with a filling because the person ground down my tooth too much. Then the worst part was I was charged for x-rays that Humana wouldn't pay for because they had already been done by my previous dentist. But Dr. Barron said she couldn't use those. She would not back down on the Charlene though Humana agreed with me. They have you sign papers at the beginning so you are not aware of all the details and don't realize that they are after MONEY more than caring about the individual. read more

I needed to have a bit of work done today...2 caps and a tooth needed the filling removed and then re-filled. I was in the chair for 3.5 hours in all...but they made me comfortable the entire time by allowing me to watch a program on Netflix, allowed me a number of breaks so that I could check in with work and they checked in to see how I was doing several times. They took their time and worked as a team, utilizing the newest technology to make sure they got it right the first time! Dr. Barron and her team were AMAZING! I had very little pain and have only needed a little ibuprofen about an hour after I left to help with the discomfort that I experienced. I just can't speak highly enough of this office and the entire staff. Every single one of them is so kind, friendly, welcoming and obviously proficient in the art of dentistry. From the front desk receptionist, hygienists, and of course Dr Barron herself, I truly look forward to getting my teeth cleaned and seeing all of them. Both my wife and I go here and I know someday we'll bring our baby daughter here as well. On top of all their friendliness, if you are ever just feeling like tuning everyone out they even have TVs attached to the ceiling in each exam room where you can watch Netflix and wear wireless headphones. I had an appointment for my two sons one six the other 16. Our dentist of many years is retiring and also is very far from where we moved so I thought let me check out this dentist and see how we like it. I was conserned that it might not be the best place for my little guy being that it's not a pediatric dentist but my six year old loved Dr. Barron and her staff they were super sweet and patient with him and his six year old questions and stories. My 16 year old knew he had a few issues with his teeth and was a little embarrassed to go but they made him feel comfortable, set him up with a great dental regimen, and we're very informative in a dental language he could understand! They were also very gentle and explained each thing they were doing as they did it. Because of them my six year old still loves the dentist he isn't a single but scared he never has been but as I mom I thought he might be scared seeing a new dentist. I will now be making appointments for my daughter and husband as well. She even called me back later that day to see if we could come in the next day as she knew my husband was in pain. Not many practices do this and care so much with out even seeing you first. The last time I had to get a crown, the process was tedious and the result was laughable at best. This time, I went to a highly recommended endodonist to get a root canal first and crown the next day. This dentist made a difficult tooth seem like nothing other than a routine day. Her professionalism, and more importantly, competence, make me no longer fear getting a root canal and crown. I never thought I'd say that. Her team was the best I've ever worked with. I can not sing the praises for this place enough! They were beyond accommodating by makeing all three of my children's appointments at the same time so I didn't have to take multiple days off. They made all my children feel comfortable and explained every step. They even made me, an extremely high anxiety patient not run for the doors. I followed Dr Jessica from my first dentist office that I went to as an adult. I had waited years to see a dentist. She was kind, compassionate, sympathetic, and fun. She was able to have a normal conversation with me and still tell me the basics of what needed to be done with my dental care and what I could wait on. She took time with me and my pain management. Because it had been years since I had received dental care, the pain was a major issue for treatment. However Dr. Jessica never became impatient or angry with me stopping her and telling her the pain was to much. I have now recruited all of my family members that are in state to her.
