New location looks fabulous. Not as many Chicago posters as previously displayed. Has an old Chicago feel about it though. Very roomy. One con, not a fan of the hand blowers in the washroom.

The new location is absolutely amazing! They have sandwiches too now! Counter girls were just so sweet and this meatball sub is out of control! Whoever is cooking back there is killing it. Get in there! Run!‍ feed your face!

Great spot - easy to order on line. Thin crust option is excellent. Nice flavor with the Ceaser salad. Staff very friendly and efficient.

Medium pepperoni, sausage, onions & banana pepper deliciousness!

Hubby got shrimp Alfredo fettuccine and i got spaghetti and meatballs. Husband said "this is the best fettuccine I've ever had in my life" and I never get spaghetti when we go out because it never tastes good. We did the meatball appetizer. This gave me the chance to try their sauce and meatballs, but already knew I'd get my "go to" ... Pizza the sauce and meatballs were amazing! I changed my mind and got spaghetti and meatballs for my order! I ordered a half, because now I was full from eating so much of there appetizers! Good thing, cause even the half wads a big serving. This is a must try place! So good! Service and atmosphere were great too! Oh, and we learned why they had the seating under the tent in the parking lot... this place had a line out the door by the time we were leaving and all the tent tables were full!

They said 50 minutes, and added us to the waitlist, this was at 5:40. We got seated a little after seven (almost 1.5 wait). Then we got seated. The garlic knots were brought out and tasted pretty doughy but good. They kinda remind me of the garlic knots you can get out of the freezer section at your local walmart. No bad things to say about the bruschetta. Two of my friends got the Caesar salad, which they enjoyed. My other friend and I got the garden salad, which was fine. My last friend got the minestrone and it was adequate. Then the most unfortunate part of the night was our entrees. Two of my friends got the penne vodka, it had no taste and reminded me of cardboard when I tried it. They both rated it a generous 4/10. To pay almost $30 for that meal was diabolical. My other two friends got the lasagna and to put it nicely, they think the Stouffer's frozen lasagna could beat it out. They also rated it a very kind and delicate 4/10. Lastly, I got the chicken saltimboca. It tasted like boiled salty chicken with canned minced garlic you'd keep in your fridge piled on top. Not sure my breath will ever smell good again. Instead of Marinara sauce I got vodka sauce on my pasta and I guess you could say no taste is better than a bad one? Disappointed in my meal to say the least. Very overpriced Italian food that I could make at home for a fraction of the price. Would not recommend.

The space is lovely of course, with tons of courtyard view windows. We did run into a broken chair when we sat down, but that was easily remedied (hopefully it was permanently removed from the floor). Our server was also tending bar, so he was stretched a bit thin, but overall the service was solid. He happily went back to the kitchen in a couple of questions he couldn't answer, but was overall very knowledgeable. He recommended a white wine made by a relative of the restaurant owner and it was lovely. We started with the octopus. I didn't expect this starter to be cold, but the tender octopus, fingerling potatoes and olives were a great combo in the acidic sauce. Would most certainly order it again. My main was the short rib. Short rib is always a heavy dish, but the vegetable risotto and asparagus helped lighten it a bit and it was tender and delicious. I probably ate 1/3, but I'm not sad to have generous leftovers. My dining companion had the veal, which was also excellent. I finished my meal with the crème caramel, which was very traditional and exactly as expected (which is what I want in a dessert like that). I'm very happy to dine here more often than every ten years.

From the first bite, my palate came alive - layered with the delicate fragrance of fresh herbs, florals, and something even rarer: genuine care from both the chef and the staff. If you're searching for a refined, intimate escape; perfect for two (or a small group that truly appreciates the experience)...Passagio deserves a top spot on your "go-to" list. We arrived when it was still daylight out and over 75 degrees outside. The hostess who sat us immediately started lighting the heater next to us. When I asked her not to because it was almost 80 degrees outside she told me the other table requested it. She didn't offer to move us away from the heater when all other tables on the patio were open (there were only two parties outside, including us). It was strange and also very warm for us. We ordered the meatballs as an appetizer and when I say they were some of the smallest meatballs I ever saw, I'm not exaggerating. Imagine the bagged meatballs you buy from the grocery store when making crock pot bbq meatballs- that was the size and it comes with 3. Definitely not worth the price. But the flavors were good. I also ordered the chicken parm and it was delicious. The portion was also generous and made up for the meatballs. I was very happy with that dish. Finally, I ended with a slice of tiramisu which was also very yummy. When we finished our desserts, we waited over a half hour for the waiter to come back with the bill, but he never did. One of us went inside to ask for the bill and the hostess told us our waiter would be right there. The waiter did show up again but only to take two orders (there were two other tables seated at this time, which made us the third table outside now). He didn't acknowledge our table or say he'd be right back with the check. We even tried to get his attention, but he hurried back inside quickly without acknowledging us. All of us got up and walked to the hostess for our bill and we still had to wait a few more minutes for the waiter to show up with it. There was no acknowledgment of the wait for our bill and nothing was done to make sure everything was good with us. It was treated as if we were still sitting at the table and everything was fine. It was a strange experience for how nice the restaurant appears. Although the food had great flavor, I would not recommend. I would have given it more stars of the service was better.

Food arrived just 15 min later and was piping hot and delicious. The lasagna is a good sized portion (roughly 5x7) and is generously filled with meat. Taste is amazing with medium-firm pasta and a nice crust across the top and sides. The ricotta calzone came with a side of marinara (yay) for dipping as there is no sauce inside. Roughly 2 dozen toppings are available, ranging from $3-$8+. I opted for the meatballs ($8.50) and was slightly disappointed. The meatballs are crumbled within the calzone (understandable) but not pronounced in quantity. I would prefer larger pieces (halves work at this size - after all I ordered meat-ball not meet-ground ;) However, for $8 (a 75% upcharge) my chief gripe is that I was simply expecting more. Next time pepperoni/mushrooms! Ambiance is lovely and waitstaff were awesome -- gracious, knowledgeable about menu specifics, and attentive. Parking is free/easy at this corner of a small strip mall. Can't wait to try their new Detroit menu too! Note: due to Rene's smaller size (less than 10 tables total) and high demand, all reservations (any day) require a credit card to hold. This is entirely understandable as even one no-show is a measurable hit to keeping a full house. I also have kids yet 100% embrace their patio-only policy when with kiddos. This literal mom/pop venue (they have kids too) tries to do the impossible balance between clientele and intimate, high-end dining (we simply accommodate by getting take out when feeding the Whole family ;)
