Sometimes the restaurant gets too busy to answer the phones, but it is actually worth it to just drive there and place an order. Yes, it is that good. What is going on with grandma Tony's Pizza? This is our favorite Pizza place ever. And the last two times we've ordered have been just a problem. Last time we ordered, they got one of our pizzas wrong. And when we called in about it, they gave us a hard time about it.I actually brought it in the next day to give it to them.And then this time when we ordered, we had nothing but problems with trying to place our order.I don't know if they've got new staff.I don't know what's going on there.But I hope they fix it and get back to their normal. We placed an order to be picked up thru seamless app on their site. Paid for the order and received text as to estimated time of pick up and then another text saying it was ready. When we got there they never received the order. Staff was very unfriendly and annoyed. Had to make our order from the start. We are long time customers but most likely will not go back. My husband sometimes goes over there for the thin crust pizza. I don't care for thin crust pizza, but that's just a personal thing for me so I can't really judge that. The cinnamon pizza is really good and I would recommend that to anyone. I've never been able to complain about the service, not even when I've gone over myself and ordered the regular crust pizza. The only reason I'm even writing this review besides the fact my phone asked if I had been at Grandma Tony's recently is the chicken wings. Please avoid those at all cost. The very last time my husband wanted to treat our family to pizza close by (I'll drive or pay delivery fees next time), he got the chicken wings. I don't know if the sauce was bad or if the sauce was being used to cover up the bad chicken, but as soon as I put it in my mouth I knew something wasn't right and warned everyone else. He took it back and told the person working. We won't be back. Someone had to have smelled that something wasn't right . I've worked in the bar and food service industry long enough to know that those wings never should have left that kitchen, much less that restaurant. read more

Not bad, decent ingredients, delivery fee $2 but XL thin crust lots of toppings was a fair deal. We ordered thin crust and got regular 'thick hand tossed' yuck. A friend wanted so we ordered what they called a Hand tossed thin crust"ex large" 16"... Friday special $3 Less, but still pricy!!=$13.95/w 3 toppings.... I called to confirm p/u time got there early, and let them know, and still 1/2 hr later asked and they said it's in the oven.. ok, I waited..I live close and drive fast.. less than 9 minutes.. it was not even warm.. they put a decent amount of toppings but very little sauce n cheese. No real flavor!! And like a cracker!! Definitely did NOT satisfy me.. I've had thin before but would not buy this again I wonder what the regular pizza crust is like? Right now, I'm NOT A FAN.. must tell you that I am a Brooklyn lady.. but still open to any GOOD pizza!! Pizza has a nice crust, not too thin or too thick. Good amount of sauce and cheese. Ordered cheese bread, which was 2 breadsticks sliced in half and covered with cheese (as described on the menu). Taking off one star for the giant cookie, which was a major letdown. It tasted heavily of shortening (we're guessing) and was very dark (soft though, so not sure if it is just a darker dough) - none of the 4 people who tried it took more than one bite. I used my credit from Tony tonight and went w his suggestion and got the orig crust supreme. This is a must try. I am very happy w this order and his customer service made it worth trying again. First time here and by reviews I was looking forward to it. Got home (5 min away) and pizza soggy and looks a mess. It tastes raw except for a quick turn in the broiler maybe. I called at 7:20 to place an order for delivery. They close at 8pm. I was told by two staff members, including the manager, that they're no longer taking orders for delivery because the driver has one delivery that's very far away. Quite problematic if your business model and client base is built around delivering pizzas. I'll be finding another business that wants to actually provide service to customers. read more

Multiple issues with my pizza First, my order was not correct with two requested topping left off. Second, there was too much cheese. It all slide off the pizza. I had a pile of cheese and grease in the corner of the box. Last Poor quality ingredients, ingredients were not fresh, and lack taste. I tried to recheese the pizza but the crust was so thin and greasy the whole thing was better off in the trash. The second star is a mercy star due to covid. I ordered a slice to try it out before I go for a whole pie. I was curious since they won the Arizona Daily Star's Facebook polling contest as best in Tucson. I ordered mushrooms, Italian sausage, and pepperoni on it. It was good pizza. I could order it again. Crust was good and chewy. Enough sauce and cheese, not overwhelming amounts, but sufficient. Other pizzerias put more sauce and cheese on theirs. That's the way I prefer mine. Mushrooms were fresh not canned. Italian sausage was usual fare for pizzas, what my wife calls dog food balls. Not like the fresh Italian sausage you get at Grimaldi's. It was good pizza, but I wasn't overwhelmed by my experience as in "Wow! This IS Tucson's championship pizza." I thought for $2.99, the size of the slice, which was just a regular slice of pizza, was expensive. I'm still hungry. Not good. But for the $2.99 I did get three toppings. For comparison, No Anchovies charges $3.75 for a gourmet slice and $3 for a one-topping slice. But their slices are big. And for another $0.75, I could have been at least satisfied. Looking over their whole pie prices, though, I think they are very reasonable. Parking is very limited. Seating is also very limited. Good pizza. Just not my championship pizza. read more

Update 12/31/18 Was contacted by the manager of Grandma Tony's the next day. They were very apologetic and offered a refund for the pizza last night along with a free pizza to give their location another shot. My husband I appreciated the call and will take them up on their offer to try again. They cared enough to call and everyone deserves a second chance. So I'll give them 4 stars for the customer service and hopefully change it to 5 stars after we try the pizza again. Ok, so we almost ordered Pizza Hut but thought we would give Grandma Tony's a try since we hadn't had it in forever. Placed the order online at 6:53pm on a Sunday and pizza was given a 7:57pm delivery time. We live 5 minutes from Grandma Tony's. Pizza arrived a touch early at 7:45pm. We ordered a thin crust pepperoni pizza. Can't really screw that up. Guess what??? They did. It was horrible and it was delivered cold. It was like eating cardboard with cold cheese. Complete and total waste of our $24 to have it delivered. Guess we'll be buying Pizza Hut from now on. Don't waste your money on Grandma Tony's unless you enjoy eating cardboard. For years this was our go to pizza place. Service has declined. This is the third time in a row we have picked up our pizza and wings to find them luke warm to cold. Tonight we tried a different tactic and pre-ordered for a set time to pick up to see if it would make a difference. The food was colder. FYI we are a 2 minute drive away so distance is not an issue. We are sad about these poor experiences, after years of great ones, but three in a row is a pattern. We will be giving some other pizza places our business. read more

I love the way they do their thin crust pizza, and their toppings always taste great. I don't even know where to begin... their pizza is oh so good! We order gluten free pizza and this is the first spot in Tucson that we keep coming back. Consistent, fresh and absolutely delicious! Bonus points for carrying our favorite root beer / Sioux City! Oh yeah, and their salads are amazing too! Would note: not a fan of their prepackaged dressing.
