BUT...don't let this discourage you if you are a beginner; Jeff handles ALL skill levels very well. He has an extremely efficient teaching method that helps pianists learn multiple skills in different categories/genres such as scales, chordal theory, music theory, pop music, classical, jazz, improvisation and others. My most favorite skill I learned from Jeff is chord voicing. This is a very useful skill that allows the pianist to play just about any popular song they wish as long as they know the chords. It's amazing that I can now listen to just about any song and I can play my own version of it. I am very thankful for this skill that Jeff has taught me. All in all, Jeff will make you a better pianist for a reasonable cost as long as you are invested into the art of piano. As he got older, he 'graduated' to guitar. His instructor even worked with us to help select a guitar that would best fit my son. Once Covid hit, we thought his lessons would be over. The instructors were so great though, they were quick to get kids on zoom lessons! He had about a 30-minute private lesson for the same price. I've done the research - they charge less than other places for one-on-one private lessons. My son has stayed on with the private zoom lessons (vs going back to after school group lessons) because it's convenient since he's in other after-school activities. His teacher, MR. TODD, is phenomenal! He's so flexible & super easy to work with. Whenever my boy has other plans or extracurricular activities change, he's so good about accommodating us. I've listened in/ watched my boy's lessons in the past; I've witnessed how good Todd is about redirecting him if he gets distracted or is being hard on himself if he feels he isn't playing well. They delayed my refund and billed me even though I was on vacation leave. Mark Newberry, (my teacher,) told me that many students were leaving due to their recent price increase. He had told me I'd be playing my requested pieces within a month. He delayed and delayed and gave me the same pieces for longer than 4 weeks. He didn't update his emails to me and lost track of what pieces I was supposed to be practicing. He taught me very little, spending most of the lesson time on his iPad or phone. He gave me the Metronome app but never taught me how to use it.

I expected basic elementary school productions, but I was so surprised and impressed by how professional they were and by the performances of all the students. That experience led us to sign my eight-year-old grandson up for their summer production of James and the Giant Peach, and it was one of the best decisions we could have made. Kris Huston and her team truly focus on teaching the fundamentals of musical theater. The students aren't just learning their parts--they're learning real theater skills and what goes into putting on a quality production. I've watched my grandson grow and polish his skills through these three productions, while gaining confidence and, most importantly, having so much fun. You can see that same growth and training reflected in the wonderful performances of all the students.
