My boy started with Tritone in the after-school ukulele classes. It was great & he learned a lot. They met 2x/week in small groups. He liked learning with his friends. As he got older, he 'graduated' to guitar. His instructor even worked with us to help select a guitar that would best fit my son. Once Covid hit, we thought his lessons would be over. The instructors were so great though, they were quick to get kids on zoom lessons! He had about a 30-minute private lesson for the same price. I've done the research - they charge less than other places for one-on-one private lessons. My son has stayed on with the private zoom lessons (vs going back to after school group lessons) because it's convenient since he's in other after-school activities. His teacher, MR. TODD, is phenomenal! He's so flexible & super easy to work with. Whenever my boy has other plans or extracurricular activities change, he's so good about accommodating us. I've listened in/ watched my boy's lessons in the past; I've witnessed how good Todd is about redirecting him if he gets distracted or is being hard on himself if he feels he isn't playing well. Todd is patient & encouraging. Oh, even though he's got private lessons, he still gets to join in on the "Jingle Jam" shows during the holidays - this has become a holiday tradition for our family. My boys have loved learning and playing music with Tritone Music Academy. My oldest started with their summer rock band camp 2 years ago. He's now playing drums with them year round. His teacher, Mr Todd is great at keeping them in beat and ready to go! My younger son is taking guitar lessons (also with Mr Todd). He's really progressed this last year and it's amazing how quickly he picked it up. He takes lessons once a week and that's perfect to not overwhelm him or get bored. Even during covid (and the classess being virtual) , they were able to transition smoothly to virtual classes and provide the same quality teaching. Our family is so thankful for finding Tritone and its Project Rock Band program. PRB summer camp was a great introduction to what our then-9 year old would find in PRB year round. The camp was a week-long, full day session in a small group setting. The band directors are knowledgeable, talented, and in-tune (no pun intended) to helping the kids learn individually and together as a band. The consistent, daily practices helped reinforce the music knowledge and performance. We liked summer camp so much, we signed up for additional sessions! The highlight was the performances at the Slide Bar. Friends and family enjoyed the entertainment in a real live stage setting and the kids got to perform like rock stars! Our child now is part of Tritone PRB year-round with his own bandmates that meet twice a month. As a farily reserved kid, our child was initially intimidated by PRB, but Mr. Kai and all the staff made it easy for him to adapt. With the help of Tritone, music has been the best outlet for him through the 3 years (so far) of PRB. I have 2 kids that have taken lessons with Tritone for guitar and ukulele for a few years now. They love it and the teachers are really the best. Mr. Kai and Mr. Surenna has been beyond accommodating during the pandemic and we've found really creative ways to keep the kids engaged with their lessons. The music they learn is current, nothing boring or too old for them to connect with. Plus, the concerts they've had are actually enjoyable (and that's coming from a parent's perspective - no horrible 4th grade recorder recital-style here!). It is a way better program than some of the other school guitar lesson offerings, too. My daughter took a different 6 week ukulele course through her school and was totally frustrated with how little she learned. With Tritone, she flew through her ukulele lessons and actually could play songs in less time, not just a couple of chords. Worth every penny! read more
