Well sometimes they offer special ferries for the Giants or Warriors games in SF. Atmosphere - Beautiful. I hike/bike here at times as well. Plenty of parking, 250 spaces, no overnight parking allowed. 20 bike racks available, the ferry is bike friendly as well. 24 bike lockers available. AC Transit = 21 line. Public restrooms, don't expect much. Service - 5 stars. My favorite form of travel, especially with the continued discounted price. It has gone back up slightly, but still very affordable. Thank you. Approximately 20 minutes to get to SF. Also, since I have lived in Alameda, the ferry service has always been on time. This ferry, similar to Sea Plane, operates only Monday to Friday. So if you go on a weekend, you need to take the main ferry. Price - $4.70 one way with a clipper card. Still almost 50% off versus pre-pandemic prices, thank you. Also just discovered the main ferry only cost $1 to go to Jack London Square; so why am I still driving to the Rosenblum winery??? Half the drivers are related to Oscar the Grouch and the Grinch who stole Christmas. And in actuality the shuttle isn't free because Oakland residents have a special assessment on their property tax, requiring us to pay for this unreliable service. As a tax paying Oakland resident, I'd rather stop paying taxes on this service and get rid of it.

If you are taking taking the ferry/bart from the city, spending a day near Lake Merritt, Old Oakland, City Center, Chinatown or Jack London Square, this free service allows you to roam up and down downtown length of Broadway fairly easily. There are a dozen or so stops-pretty much located by anything you'd want to go to. There are some flaws. The scheduled time of one bus every 15 minutes doesn't always happen. Most times you are looking at a 20-30 minute wait. It can be super packed, especially the stretch that runs by Chinatown, so it's highly likely you'll be standing or at least sharing a not very comfortable seat most of the way. Some of the drivers are super professional others not so much. Mostly however it's pretty awesome. For one it's free and allows you to easily roam all over downtown Oakland. This makes it easy to bounce down to Chinatown or swans market form the office buildings near lake merrit for lunch or dinner, or a spot of shopping. Handy for getting to jack london square or the amtrak station as well. Perfect for happy hour bar hops. Did I mention the free part? 'Cause that's the best thing evah.

The Embarcadero station seems the same except different without that scary looking art piece that was hanging there since I don't know when. They installed these plastic fare gates now. A few escalators still not working so had to climb stairs, so really nothing new. This is the first and last stop in San Francisco from the east bay. I was able to get to and from this station without delay on my recent trip thankfully, so that's a win.

The DOWN SIDE was that less than half of the power outlets worked and some of those that did work the plugs were so worn out that my power plug literally fell out of the outlet. The coliseum is an actual stop and Bart will save you time and money especially now that the parking at the coliseum is up to $30. The trains ride smooth and it's nice to have a view rather than being stuck behind the wheel of your car fighting with traffic. Plus Bart makes it from Dublin/Pleasanton to the coliseum in roughly 25 minutes. You will not be able to do that in a car. Parking at Bart is free on weekends and apparently on weekdays after 3pm. Tickets for our group, myself and my two kids came out to roughly $17.00. You can barely beat that in gas if you were to drive yourself. I enjoyed talking Bart and I know my kids were thrilled to ride a "train." I recommend Bart to anyone heading to the A's or further down the line.

If it's any consolation to your offended Dublin/Pleasanton pride, your chain stores look, um, nice from the freeway. OK, they look like every other visible-from-the-freeway chain stores I've ever seen. And this makes them, exciting. I think? Why am I going on about Dublin/Pleasanton in a review of the Dublin/Pleasanton-Daly City Line? Well, because I can. And unless the BART station does somehow straddle the border between the two cities, it's stupid that it's got a slashed name to begin with. It's probably either in Dublin or Pleasanton. The line itself is OK. I've never ridden it farther than Bay Fair, so I can't really contrast it with the Fremont-Daly City Line. It's gotten me (most of the way) to Oakland International Airport and back on many occasions. Hm, what else to say? I think I'm excited about the new West Dublin station, although it will also ridiculously be called the West Dublin/Pleasanton Station. Seriously, can't we just give each city its own BART station and be done with this / garbage?

Always be street smart when traveling on public transit. Don't be too glued to your device and certainly don't use a brand new shiny phone. Also, be respectful and don't listen to music loudly or talk on your phone loudly. Schedule is on point 95% of the time. Glad I can use my Clipped on the phone. Wish their fare system was like NYC which is a flat fare anywhere. Use public transit when you can

This is the small station that shuttles you between the BART - Coliseum stop and the OAK airport…read more It's pretty convenient when you are coming into Oakland Airport, where you just cross a couple of the streets and go up the escalators to the shuttle area or vice versa when you're coming in. Just know that it's going to charge your clipper card a little bit more at this stop for obvious reasons. But otherwise a pretty relax full ride after a flight or getting onto one.

Next stop at the actual BART station was easy; however, a couple of the machines were not in service so it took a lil while to get our Clipper cards. An easy walk down to the platform to wait for the trains, although a bit ghetto, I didn't feel unsafe (at the time) and it was much lighter with riders than when I have taken it to and fr SFO.
