Denny accused my mom of stealing and without any proof. When she asked for him to check the video footage they refused and asked her to remove herself from the store. There only piece of "evidence" was that the security system "beeped" when she walked out. She has been a customer here for 30 years. We called to ask if the updated Covid vaccine is available as we were told about the walk in hours another day by a female employee. A male employee in the pharmacy answered the call and used a very condescending tone to question me who said we can do walk in and they accept walk ins for Covid vaccine. Come on - we know supply is limited but how about just being a decent human being and answering your customers politely. We live in the neighborhood and visited Bartell when Safeway is busy. Thank you again! Top notch employees are hard to find and retain. It's clear Ms. Elgawly, RPh loves and takes pride in her work along with the entire staff. This is my second review for the Sammamish location. The pharmacy caught an error on a prescription that was written by my PCP. There could have been a major interaction. Because of their knowledge, quick thinking and experience, this was caught and a different medication was prescribed and my URI went away. The staff work hard and long hours while always maintaining a smile with professionalism. Some of my friends are Pharmacists and many have gotten out of retail to work in other areas of the industry. I hope everyone is compensated well for their hard work and having to deal with some rude customers and sadly being short staffed. Short staffing is an issue in many places. When I enter into Bartells in Sammamish ...it is a true feeling of a neighborhood pharmacy/store. I walk in with frequent hellos and if I need any assistance. Not sure how it's possible but this store has regressed further. I ordered two scripts online and it said pickup at 11:30AM on 12/3. I checked at 5PM still said in progress. I tried to call several times the rest of the night as I needed one of these Scripts urgently nobody picked up. Called again on 12/4 and finally got someone who complained that they had 800 scripts in their queue. This pharmacy screams mismanagement. read more

Pharmacy is under staffed for the amount of business they have. Staff is professional and friendly. But the wait to pick up prescriptions is always long, about 15+ minutes in wait line. I have gone to pick up prescription order entered by my physician online and not ready 3 hours after I left the dr office. Just too much business for the small staff. Closest pharmacy to us (except for Safeway of course) so this is what I use for all of my prescriptions. It can be slow at times, but I can't say that I've had any other experience at other pharmacies. Occasionally, the prescription isn't ready when I expect it to be, but it's about a mile away. They always text me when it is ready and then it's easy to return. I've never had a problem with the service. The drugstore itself is pretty typical. I find the prices a little high, but then sometimes you can find the most amazing deals usually on canned food items and random things like that. They also have seem to have a better than average selection of toys for a small drugstore. I've gotten many an emergency birthday gift here. The selection of cocktail drinks isn't bad either (occasionally, I need a cocktail break - I take it home of course). A lot of their food and drink selection is local, which I appreciate. read more

This is for my experience picking up prescriptions. On multiple occasions I've had something wrong. Issues: 1. They say they need to verify the prescription refill with a doctor. I called my doctor and they have no idea what they're talking about. The doctor says they don't need any approval and they should just refill it. Yet every time I ran into this issue. 2. On top of that their phone automation for prescription refill doesn't take this ridiculous policy into consideration. I followed their instructions and when I went to pick up my prescription they said they couldn't give it to me, until they verified it with the doctor. Again, My doctor is no idea what they're talking about. 3. They literally would not give me my prescription and I was out. I needed the medication and they weren't going to do anything. Serious health risk and negligent on their behalf. 4. The gal that was there last time later in the evening, was extremely rude to everyone that came forward. Super short tempered, not very respectful, condescending attitude. I went ahead and transferred my prescriptions, I suggest you do the same. read more

I have been a customer of Bartell's in Sammamish for more than a decade, regularly buying prescription drugs, kids' items and cosmetics. Recently I had a poor experience. My favorite brand was on promotion - a brand I love and buy regularly - and I bought a number of them for gifts for family. There were 2 issues: 1) there was a price differential with Amazon, 2) they made a mistake and overcharged by 1 item. Net difference was $40 or more. I immediately went back and requested a refund with receipt, all items unopened. They made me come back - kid you not - 2 more times (3 total attempts to return) because their cashier system handled the purchase but couldn't handle the return. They blamed me and told me that they wouldn't handle a transaction like this again. Target/Amazon doesn't have issues like this. This experience made me feel unwelcome to the store. :( read more

I have been a customer of the Sammamish Bartell for over 30 years. This Bartell is truly a neighborhood pharmacy. All the employees have been friendly and helpful. I've gotten to know most of the managers and all of the pharmacy managers. The present manager Mrs Elgawly, RPh is the best of the best. During Covid and the transition to a new system, she and her staff continued treating their customers with kindness and respect, like they cared. She's never been too busy to answer a question or help with over the counter items in the store. I'm always asked if I need consultation and I'm asked how's the family. Since being acquired a few years ago, this is no longer the Sammamish Bartell's I shopped at for 30+ years. The shelves are half empty, the photo machines usually don't work at all or the colors are not properly tuned, and there are very few people to help. The Bartell's in Redmond is better, so I assume they are trying to drive this location out of business forcing us to go to their nearby RiteAid location. The pharmacy seems ok, but this store is otherwise my last resort for anything. read more

My physician called in an antibiotic script for me this morning around 9- I called to be sure it was ready before driving to the store. I was put on hold - I hung up after 30 minutes wait time. Somehow in the past year or so, customer service has become a low priority. Inefficient, cumbersome to deal with, unapologetic -and today completely non-responsive, a new low. Update: The pharmacy is finally getting better! Not what it used to be years ago, but not as bad as it was when I did a negative review. I think part of the problem is the staff turnover in the pharmacy. They always seem unsure since they're still learning the ropes and it's hard to develop a personal relationship with the staff when you deal with someone different each time! A lot of the time, the tech is really indifferent. In the old days when they'd have my prescriptions on the counter when they'd see me coming but now even when I get the same person who's helped me several times, they never seem to recognize me. Good news is that today I got a call that they didn't have enough for a complete fill on one of my meds and they wanted to know if I wanted to get a partial fill until the order came in the next day. I'm glad I didn't make a trip in for naught. I've learned when you order online to leave the date/time alone for how soon you want to pick the prescription(s) up.. It's rare that it's ready when they say it's going to be, but if you expect it to be the next day rather than in a couple of hours, you'll be a lot happier! I pretty much always order as soon as the website says I can just to make sure there isn't any hangup. I suspect that no matter where you go, you're going to run into problems with the pharmacy. I've yet to see good reviews on any of them except one independent. read more

Really poor customer service today. When I called to see if my prescription was called in from early this morning I got hang-up on by the pharmacy, then put on hold and nobody got back to me in 12 minutes, then I called the pharmacy 2 more times and nobody picked up. I then called the store and asked for the Manager. His name was Michael. His attitude was "oh well, there's nothing I can do and I can't help". I then asked for his Mgr/Dir and I was told he cannot give out that info. That seemed odd. After yet 2 more calls (and Michael would not take them), another associate gave me the Corp Customer Service number of 1800RITEAID. When I told them all of this they elevated it to a District Manager and said they have no corporate directive as they can give out 1st names and phone numbers of either the District Manager (if the store has it) otherwise the Corp Customer Service dept. It really should not have been so hard to get this number. read more

For a drug store their pharmacy is terrible from multiple perspectives: service, professionalism and competency. I rarely talk to someone who treats customers with respect. Their automated system is non existent. I have to give them a phone number for every prescription and refill 'cos I just don't get notified when its ready. Everytime I ask why I wasn't notified and they have no answers or apologies. This location is convenient but I dislike dealing with the people here. Prescription error: had to tell the pharmacist the dosage she instructed was 500% higher than what the Dr ordered. She redid the label. The health consequences would have been serious Broken seal: they had taped over a broken seal on a box of items that should come sealed, apparently reselling a returned item Wrongly charged the insurance provider: whether an innocent mistake or fraud I don't know but the amount dispensed was misrepresented on the invoice (said they provided 300% of the quantity they actually provided). Either way, typos from a pharmacist is a scary proposition At least their service is very slow, so you might have time to catch their life threatening and scandalous mistakes. But they never answer their phone, so not going there may be the best way to provide the necessary feedback. read more

I'm in the store at least once a week to buy stuff for the house or pick up my meds (getting old sucks) and the staff are all great. Having worked in a customer service job before I understand that some times you get slammed with a bunch of customers all at once and no matter how fast you work, someone is going to perceive that they weren't waited on fast enough or think that you were abrupt when you're just trying to take care of everybody as fast as you can. Hey, that's life, if there are 5 people or 10 people ahead of you at the pharmacy then you're going to have to wait, it's not the end of the world, if you can't wait around then come back later. As for the store side, the isles are always stocked, the store is always clean and they always call up more checkers as soon as there are two or more people waiting in line. All of the staff are friendly and they know where everything is too, that's rare these days! Great customer service! The one thing that does bug me is their register system, it's totally backwards and idiotic. It doesn't show the discounts on sale items until AFTER you swipe your credit card and have been charged for the items. So up until that point, you're agreeing to pay an amount that is higher than what you should actually pay. Their reasoning is that it's a stock/accounting issue, they want the items rung up at full price. I call BS on that. Every other store in the world, tallies up the items at full price then applies the discounts before you swipe your card. This is a BIG problem as Bartell often gives you an incentive for spending X amount of dollars. For example, spend $50 and get a $10 Starbucks gift card for free. Only the cashier has to add the Starbucks gift card to the total before you swipe your card and if anything in your cart is on sale or is BOBO Free, that could drop your final total to below $50 and prevent you from getting the gift card, which they then have to refund the purchase and start over if they know how to do that. It's a big mess and slows everything down. Plus you have to read the receipt to make sure that the discounts were applied. That is why I took off one star. Fix your accounting system Bartell!!!! Stop making the cashiers and the customers be punished for your wacky accounting! BTW, I agree that taking one passport photo and then charging full price for additional copies is crazy. No one else does this and it's not clearly marked at the store, nor does the lady tell you beforehand that additional copies are full price, even when you tell them up front that you'll need extra copies. read more

Now I understand all the bad reviews to this store. My wife wanted to have 6 passport photos, then they charged her for 3 pairs, each for $9. Well, at least in Costco or Fred Meyer, they charge $0.26 for additional pairs, because all that is to press number buttons a couple more times. Tried to talk to them, all I got was "welcome to discuss with my manager". G, no wonder the bad reviews, and you'll never see me, my family and my friends in your store. I don't even want to give you this one star. Follow up: I came in today morning, and had a chat with their manager. She said my review drew attention, and it's true that their system only has $9 for additional printout, and nobody complained before. Bottom line is that she refunded me the money and allowed me to keep the photos. I was pissed off, now I am happy. I'll cut all suggestions of improvement because everyone knows about it. It's market economy, you have competitors. Now I change the rate from 1 star to 3, and they may continue seeing my family and friends. read more

I've been visiting this Bartell for at least 10 years. The staff is friendly, especially the last few years. They'll chat me up and ask about the day, and seem to care. I like what they've done since the remodel 6 months ago and expanded staples such as milk, creamer, butter, etc...in the refrigerated section. I also go here first when shopping for minor seasonal decorations like 4th of July, Halloween, etc... I also like the fact that Barell Drugs is surrounded by other key shopping experiences that adds to the 'total package' for this shopping center - Starbucks, Safeway, Jimmy Johns, PetCo, Veterinarian, gas station, bank, postal services, salon and more! read more

I moved our prescriptions from Rite Aid to Bartell Drug about a year ago due to the poor service at Rite Aid. Unfortunately, my pleasure with the move to Bartell was short lived. Shortly thereafter Rite Aid bought Bartell Drug and all of the great service, wonderful products, etc. are gone. The pharmacy is really bad; lines are long, prescriptions are never ready when they have been pre-ordered and the staff just looks tired and overworked. Wish I could find another pharmacy that serves the Sammamish plateau. Keeping the name is just a guise to keep the customers. We miss the real Bartell Drug! read more

I've been using this location for a number of years. Staff are always professional, and the pharmacists have always been so helpful with any medication changes and insurance issues that I've had. I also appreciate that I can always get someone on the phone for questions. They had a recent change in ownership which I was concerned would lessen the quality of service, but that hasn't been the case at all. They did have longer wait times during their computer system transition as was to be expected, but that that now seems to have resolved. read more

lm not getting another prescription from Bartell's Sammamish. It is dangerous and incompetent. They need to revise the pharmacy and staff. I called and they say I have 2 prescriptions . I only have 1. They said it would be ready in 1 hour and I arrived in 2 . Only to find out it would be another 30-40 min. They need competent staff . We bought a bottle of capsules there. It was 50-capsule bottle. But when we broke the seal it turned out there were only 12 capsules there. We purchased it using a credit card. But unfortunately my wife lost the check. But the manager told us they cannot exchange the bottle without a check! In normal pharmacies if you pay with a card you don't need a check. But not here. Now I'm not even sure that if we had the check they would make the exchange. Because they started talking about seal being broken. So my conclusion is: 1) they don't care to exchange defective goods, 2) they work with producers of defective goods in first place. I'll try to avoid this pharmacy, and I recommend you to do the same. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service ever!! I really believe they bonus their employees based on how negative their attitude is towards customers. I have been into this store over a dozen times since the new year and I have never once been greeted or even smiled at. When you go to pay the cashiers are always so nasty as if they are giving away their personal items and everything is such an inconvenience to them. The last time I was in, the cashier, I believe her name was Devyn or something similar, was rolling her eyes at me, the only word she spoke to me was "Cash!?!?" As if she's never had anyone pay cash before, then she literally snatched the cash out of my hand threw the receipt in the bag without ever looking up at me, she didn't even hand me my bag. It was rather unbelievable, at least for me. The two male employees just stood behind the counter with their arms crossed watching this interaction as if it's normal practice... obviously it is. When you shop in Sammamish you don't expect too much in terms of customer service, that's fine, however I would expect for the employees to at least not be downright rude. The Pharmacy at Sammamish location of Bartell Drugs is a nightmare. Stay away like it is the plague: It takes for ever to get a prescription filled. Everytime, for almost everyone. The people working in the pharmacy DO NOT CARE. Doctors say that the pharmacy does answer phones even after repetitive calling. The prescriptions seem to fall through the cracks all the time. Everyone who comes there seems to have the same problem. There is never a day where they dont say : "We are backed up today" They behave like they are doing the customer a favor.
