QFC used to be a local grocery chain. Then Kroger ate them (this was many years ago). QFC got a little worse. Then Safeway ate Albertsons and QFC got a lot worse. Now Kroger is trying to eat Safeway, and QFC jumping the gun by preemptively taking a nose dive. For years, people called this store "the new QFC" because it was newer and nicer and shinier (and, imo, better-smelling) than the one a couple blocks over. We didn't know how good we had it then! This particular location used to be clean, well-organized, well-stocked, and appropriately staffed. Variety and quality of foods (especially produce) seems to have taken a downturn. Now, pick 2 of those at any given time and you'll be lucky. Less pharmacy hours, never anyone at the customer service desk, a giant bay of tiny u scans with one harried employee trying to deal with everyone's coupons, misweighed items, and produce with no stickers. Locked cases popping up all over the store, but only one or two employees in the entire store who can open them. Worse yet, a lot of the stuff in the cases doesn't have pricetags, so you just have to guess - not great for what are ostensibly some of the most expensive items in the building. Don't bother asking that employee who unlocked the case for you; they probably already have a gaggle of other customers following them around like the pied Piper, waiting for them to unlock some other case on the opposite side of the store. To be exceptionally clear in case some corporate scrooge reads this: none of this is the employees' fault, they are doing the best they can, and this is all clearly the consequence of corporate cost-cutting measures. I'd give it 3.5 stars because it's not the *worst* QFC on the eastside (I'd put it solidly above the 50th percentile, which says a lot about the state of the brand), and it's definitely still better than "the old QFC", but it's a marked downturn from what it used to be in years past (even post Kroger merge) read more

Solid grocery store. Lots of self checkout machines which makes it an easy and quick experience most of the time. I really like their bread selection. This is one of the few places that carry local brands like Macrina and Grand Central Bakery, which is perfect when I want to make sandwiches or other bread-related dishes. Large parking lot is an added bonus as I never have to look for a spot. read more

This is one of four QFC stores I frequent, by far, it's the newest and biggest, although soon to be challenged by the new Kirkland Urban QFC which is opening soon. This location, on average, has the widest collection of everything, from flavors of ice cream to types of pizza, especially if something is on sale and the other stores are cleared out. During the most recent visit, I found the baggie of all purple potatoes that two other QFC and one Fred Meyer did not carry. Once again, my faith in this store is reinforced. During the recent visit, I was surprised to see digital pricing. (See photos) Partly impressed and partly appalled with the electricity used. Sigh. Maybe that's less wasteful than the scraps of paper used to denote sale prices every week. At this location, there's also a Panda Express, if you like that. Still at four stars. It has been a while since I have visited this store. Stopped in after work earlier this week and noticed that this store had been recently renovated. Noticeable since several shelves were empty and the staff was moving around products. The biggest change is the pharmacy has been moved several feet to the right. The dairy section as a result has been shifted to be next to the meat area. There are also now more self checkout lanes which is great since that is my preference when grocery shopping. Still consider this store to be one of the more solid QFC locations on the Eastside. read more

This QFC always has things on sale in the deli you can grab for a quick lunch or snack. My favorite parts of this store are the Panda Express, Starbucks, the bulk cookie stand, and $5 sushi Wednesdays. I'v never had bad customer service here, and the sushi quality especially is amazing. Tip: check your produce, especially berries! They aren't always refrigerated, so I frequently find one or two moldy berries in a container. read more

This looks nothing like the birthday cake I asked for. Very disappointed. A month before my son asked for a birthday cake in the display so I took a photo. I showed the photo when I ordered the cake. I was told they did not have the primary colors balloons, only pastels, and if they did not get any in they would supplement with a Spider-Man mask decor. No Spider-Man decor but the here are the pastel balloons that I didn't want on a cake that looks nothing like what was expected. read more

Written for our Saturday, February 2, 2019 Visit: Panda Express employees were the most friendly and helpful here. This review isn't for them. The night staff at this QFC in the specified date treated us as if we were inconveniencing them. We were directed to the night manager by an aloof male associate for questions. The night manager was so disinterested in helping us. He wouldn't even make eye contact and kept up his tasks at the register with an air of disinterest. We asked when the pharmacy would be open for medicine drop-offs and he gave us an attitude. Our question was not 100% unanswered because he didn't offer a time window of when to return. He told us he didn't know! We had to ask him in the first place because we couldn't find hours online or in-store. Aren't managers supposed to learn and know these things? Night manager also probably assumed we were homeless tweakers because I was carrying a random trash bag full of junk. My trash bag was full of actual teratogenic chemotherapy pills. We were dropping them off at QFC because the person, my boyfriend's mom, had already begun to die. My bf and I were very tired and sad because we had been taking care of my boyfriend's deathly sick mother 24/7 (who passed on 2/6). You know, we sometimes just need questions asked face-to-face so as to feel like we're having a normal day without having just witnessed a family member slowly dying of lymphoma. We sometimes just want a normal answer to a normal question without your bitchiness. We were basically treated poorly and I'll never forget the Saturday when we went to QFC to get our sad task done only to be met with poor behavior. The aloof associate we originally asked for help took steps afterward to hide away in one of the aisles so we wouldn't bother him. He saw us coming and ducked to hide. Classy! I worked in customer service before for over two years. This is definitely not the proper way to treat store visitors. read more

I never really understand why they have two QFCs that are five blocks from each other. This QFC has Panda Express, Bank of America branch, and a Redbox compared to the other QFC right next door. It also has a bigger self check-out section and a bigger parking lot. Otherwise, the fresh produce section seems rather small to me. read more

I consider myself quite the connoisseur of grocery stores. Grocery shopping is one of my favorite past times. And this, well this is the place to never go hungry! This large chain grocery store is equivalent to a Dominick's in Chicago. Self check out lanes ease the congestion of shoppers. They also have a savings card that I would definitely take advantage of too. Endless choices! Gourmet Jelly Belly station, sushi station (complete with Soju), Panda express, and a free standing Starbucks next door! Bought a pre-packaged turkey cranberry sandwich on multigrain bread from the deli for my flight back. Kept pretty well and was quite fresh and more than filling on my 3 hours in the air. They had plenty of other individually sized sides such as potato salad, macaroni salad, and fruits. Will definitely stop here next time I need to grab some picnic food or need to pack a cooler for a drive up to Mount Rainer! read more

This is the cleaner of the 2 QFCs in Redmond, the female manager with blonde hair always has a crappy attitude. Ive had many interactions with her and no pleasant experience to report and ive lived in Redmond 4 years now. The only really good thing about this location is theres hardly ever a really long wait at the self checkout. The aisles are laid out weird and you'll do a couple laps around the store before you figure out where an items at. The Glacier water machine outside is hit or miss on working and staff inside are just as confused as the customer when it breaks. I like to go here when i get coupons for free stuff. read more

I decided to try it for convenience Unfortunately it took 4 hours more than the promised 2 hours to get my prescription filled. Funny, my first review of this store was 5 stars in 2010, then 3 stars last year after the renovation, and now it's down to one store. And it so saddens me to write this, but I gotta keep it real. My family has shopped here exclusively since we moved to our house a few blocks away, over 16 years ago. The people here have seen my kids growing up. They all know us by name. Due to the convenience factor, we (hubby and I) have come here at least once a day on average to pick up items that we need. There have been many, many days where hubby and I each came here in any given day to get groceries. I guess I'm trying to say, no store had more regular and loyal customers than my family. I can't even guesstimate how many thousands and thousands of dollars we've spent here over the years. I'm now boycotting this store. I refuse to buy one item here. Let me explain: prior to our annual holiday party, we needed to get wine. We wanted to get the sparkling white Freixenet wines, in the black bottles, but there are a few different kinds and one is sweeter and one, dryer, and the bottles are identical. The wine guy recommended one when hubby asked which one was sweeter. Hubby bought 14 bottles. Come party-time, we immediately noticed that the wines were the dry type - not the sweeter one. Guest drank about 8 bottles. Post party, we wanted to exchange the remaining bottles for the sweeter ones. The cost per bottle is exactly the same. The store wouldn't be losing money. They demanded our receipts, which we no longer had (if we kept all our QFC resceipts from this store, between my husband and myself, we'd have at least 500 receipts every year!). I noted that the transaction would be on their records, as we used our QFC Reward card. No dice. So.... despite the managers and the cashiers and most of the staff knowing us VERY well, they refused to exchange the bottles. If this is how they treat their best, and most well-known and loyal customers who they've known for years, imagine how they will deal with you all! I now do all my grocery shopping at Trader Joe's and, at times, at Safeway. read more

This QFC is definitely the nicer of the two in Redmond. It's actually quite funny how close they are. The reason why I rated this one three stars is the fact that it irritates me so bad that they cage up their alcohol and then you have to call someone over and it feels super uncomfortable and also like I'm inconveniencing the person as they watch me while I price out and choose my purchase. (Yes, the run-on sentence was the only way, lol) I literally avoid it now. But it's a good store for other purchases and for some reason, I have always seen the same man tending the self check-out area, he's very nice and helpful. read more

Now that I am in the world of the WORKING again, I need to get back into the packing my lunch mode.... but the first couple of days I was lax in doing that. This QFC is down the street from the office, and I have fallen in love with the sushi from here! The brown rice rolls are so so so good. I also tried a roll that was in rice paper, with shrimp, crab and tons of veggies. My coworker raved about fresh the sushi was, and she was right. If I am lazy and forget lunch, this is where I will go. And the rolls I like are seven bucks or less! read more

I love this QFC as far as shopping for my regular groceries is concerned. I went today to the deli for a sandwich for lunch and so far, of the five or six times in the last few months that I've utilized the deli, they ALWAYS act like I'm inconveniencing them. Well excuse me, I'm sorry if you're having a bad day but if it weren't for customers like me, you'd be jobless so fix your attitudes! I live closer to the Redmond Way QFC but parking there can be such a nightmare. I dunno, this place has a lot of great reviews but I haven't been that impressed. The prices are very expensive, sort of disgustingly so. For example, I was at Whole Foods (known for being over priced, right?) and thought to myself, "you know, I'll go to QFC and get some of the stuff I know I can get there instead of buying them at Whole Foods for more $$$." Unfortunately, I went to QFC and EVERY ITEM I had saved for QFC was CHEAPER at Whole Foods - WTF? I was pretty irritated to say the least and I wont be going back anytime soon. read more

I try to avoid this particular QFC whenever possible, but unfortunately it's in a really convenient location: Bella Bottega. If I happen to be in the area to go to a movie, drop off dry cleaning, visit the in-store Bank of America, or pick up a few things at Bartell's, it's tempting to run into the QFC really quickly to get something I need. However, I am one of those people who prefer not to join grocery clubs (mainly for privacy reasons, but also because I find it annoying that stores raise prices then institute a club system that you have to join to get the same prices on things as before). Because of my personal preference, I usually shop at Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, or Fred Meyer because I won't get hassled to join the membership program. I also shop at Top Foods because unlike this QFC, when they ask if you have a membership card and you say no, they smile and shrug and leave you alone and continue ringing you up in a friendly manner. The last four times I have purchased something here, the very last impression I was left with was rudeness. When I was asked for my membership card I just smiled nicely and said "I don't have one." I then was pressured to sign up, and I said nicely "No thank you" and every single time the checker (different people every time) pressured me and nagged me and made me say no Three times. Twice, the checker even slammed the signup sheet down on the counter, anyway, in a really nasty way. I end up pushing it back quietly across the counter to them. I'm not sure what kind of pressure they are under from management to get people to sign up - maybe it's not their fault, but I find it extremely rude and it makes it not fun to shop here. You'd think you'd want your customers leaving the store feeling positive because the checker said "Have a good day!" and not feeling negative because the cashier got all huffy that you didn't join their little club. That said, the wine department here is fabulous. The wine buyer makes great selections, and there's always someone really really helpful in the wine department to answer questions or leave you alone to browse if you prefer that. If you don't mind membership clubs you probably won't run into the same problem as me, but I bet you can find much friendlier clerks at other stores or other QFC branches. This one is really lacking. I'll be over at the nearby friendly Trader Joe's instead. read more

This is my usual grocery-shopping joint after I lost my local Safeway in the move. The selection of types of items was impressive, but I wish they had more variety in which products they offer. Also, while the vegetables are cheap, everything else seems to be expensive - especially the lunch meat (there's also not a great selection). Overall, it's a grocery store, and it's clean (which is the most important thing). I can't get passionate about a grocery store, so to be fair I should say I don't think I'd rate any grocery store over 4 stars :-P read more

Parking is easier at this one, but beyond the other one being nicer, you also got a TJ's in the same strip mall at the one on Redmond Way. I generally stop at both when I do a bigger shopping trip, so I tend to use that one instead of this one. read more

This QFC store in the Bella Botega shopping center in Redmond has a nice, big parking lot, which makes it more convenient than the crowded QFC a few blocks away on Redmond Way, near Trader Joe's. However, I only occasionally shop here because prices are much higher than at the other QFC on Redmond Way or Fred Meyer which is part of the same Kroger chain. In addition, this past weekend, I had an annoying experience whereby I was purchasing some wine and I already had my driver's license out because I know that all Kroger chain stores have made a policy of checking IDs, regardless of the age of the person who is buying wine, beer or spirits. The cashier made a ridiculous, "Wink-Wink-Nudge-Nudge" joke like, "Oh, YOUNG LADY, you look like you are barely 21. Can I see some ID?" He may have thought he was being funny but this was not cute, it was condescending. Would he have asked a male senior citizen, "Oh, YOUNG MAN, you look like you are barely 21. Can I see some ID?" I don't think so. This store and stores in general need to counsel their cashiers to ditch the dumb "age" jokes, especially when serving female customers. Simply say, "May I see your ID? It is store policy." And leave it at that. read more

Whenever I'm too lazy to pack a lunch for work (which is pretty often) I usually end up here at the QFC deli. They have all the standard deli types of food like chicken, sandwiches, etc., but they also have a nice variety of delicious salads, turkey, salmon, ribs, and other foods that stand out from the pack for both the quality and selection. They have a chicken pasta Gorgonzola salad that is like a little slice of heaven. With Gorgonzola. I'm totally addicted to it. A couple days ago I went in looking for my precious salad and they didn't have it in the case. They rotate what they make so that you won't necessarily see everything every time you go in, but I hadn't seen it for a while so I was a little worried. When I asked, the woman told me "Oh we didn't make that today but if you want to wait 5 minutes I can make some for you!" I told her that was ok and I would just get it some other day because I don't want to be a PITB customer, but I really appreciated her offering to make it for me on the spot. The whole store is very clean, very nice, and pretty huge. They have everything you could possibly want out of a grocery store, including 6 self-scan registers, which I always appreciate. read more

I recently shopped on Sunday and the woman at the check out counter walked me over to the adjacent liquor area to help me find my purchase. There was no one after me in line so it did not inconvenience another guest and it was such a nice gesture. The employee inside the liquor area was also nice and helpful. (This review is for the QFC Deli only.) I don't typically shop at this QFC, but I have to give huge thanks to the deli counter for helping me in a serious crunch. After the Totem Lake Fred Meyer left me in a lurch for not preparing the plate of sandwiches I had ordered for my friend's bridal shower, I had about one hour to rectify the situation before the party began. I called this QFC deli and asked if I could get ~45 croissant sandwiches made within an hour. I was shocked when they gave a friendly and resounding YES! They were so kind... the manager rearranged the employees' shifts so that they could have one employee dedicated to making my platter. They turned out beautiful!! I just tried some red velvet cake that was on sale and it was GOOOOD! I love finding yummy food on sale. I also like the yogurt with the pieces of granola, cookies & cream, oreos, etc. that you mix in with it. A little too pricey unless it's on sale... I was disappointed to see 2 people without facemasks frequenting the store. 1 man was checking out with the cashier so it wasn't as if the staff had not seen him. There are a limited number of opportunities that can allow you not to wear a face mask for health reasons but it seems coincidental that I saw 2 different men in the store at the same time with these limited personal medical reasons. I also did not see them cleaning the self checkout stations between customers. I'm sharing the situation so that those of you who are concerned about your health can make a decision about whether you trust that QFC Bella Botega is managing the policy regarding face mask coverings.
