So, this Petsmart has zero beds, crate pads, outfits, etc. for toy dogs. I made a 45 minute drive…read moreto go there specifically for a small bed for my chihuahua pup, and their smallest could've held six of her. I ended up trying a guinea pig bed (go figure that they have THAT but nothing for toy dogs). Seriously, if I go to Petsmart, I expect them to carry all the hard to get items for all versions of dogs, not just endless aisles of dog food and toys. Also, while I was there I sought UVB bulbs for my aquatic turtles. No available verbiage anywhere to offer advice on watts, size, and what is best for reptiles, turtles, etc. It was simply a blind grab and the price of these bulbs are astronomical, too. Additionally, their prices ARE NOT cheaper than Amazon. Whomever states that is out of their mind, because the Jumbo turtle pellets are $19.99 at this Petsmart and I can get the exact same version on Amazon for $9.99. Not to mention, Amazon has a thousand more versions of everything to choose from. Customer service was not only lame, it was without a smile. And we garnished that from the 3 employees in the store when we approached them (not the other way around despite our endless search which clearly indicated we couldn't find what we were looking for). All 3 did their duty, but not necessarily happily. We opted for Petsmart to give back to the community, but when they charge double the price of similar items online, reduce variety and options...well, face it folks, you are going to end up shutting your doors due to lack of sales. Be competitive! Do something besides stock shelves with the same old items we can now find at Walmart. It was the most boring and disappointing visit we've made so far when it comes to pet stores. What a waste of time and money!

    Oasis Bird Sanctuary

AN AMAZING SANCTUARY DEDICATED TO THE WELFARE OF PARROTS…read more The Oasis exists because there are so many parrot species birds in desparate need of permanent safe life time homes. These magnificent challenging birds can life many decades, often longer than their humans. Many of the 800+ birds who live there are also strays with no where to go, or are abuse/neglect cases. Most of the birds are housed in huge outdoor aviaries with birds of their own kind where they get to flock and fly. Tge aviareis are equipped with misting systems for the summer and heaters for the winter. The sanctuary is very remote, so staff lives on site. The staff is very caring and professional. Hiighly recommend as deserving your suport.

This place is amazing, they have over 700 birds as permanent residents, everything from Polish…read moreChickens to a Hyacinth macaw hybrid. They have several large, walk in aviaries, each housing many, many birds of a particular type, male or female cockatoos, macaws, African grays, cockatiels, lories, quakers, and the list goes on. I grew up with parrots and feel very attached to them, so this was a fantastic experience. Despite 700 parrots, the grounds were clean, everything was well organized and put together. This isn't a crazy lady with three hundred parrots in a double wide, this is a legit animal sanctuary. Note, sanctuary - they do NOT do adoptions, every bird there is there for the rest of their lives. I visited during an art fair deal thing in Cascabel, so they were expecting visitors and running tours, if you decide to head out for a visit (if you like birds, you should), it'd be worth giving them a call first. They also have rooms set up so that volunteers have a place to sleep - call and make arrangements and you can go hang out as long as you want, do various tasks with the birds all day long and then have a place to crash at night.
