This is the closest feed store now that I'm living in Sierra Vista Southeast. I don't have livestock, but I do have six German Shepherd Dogs. Earlier this week I learned that one of my dogs has tapeworm. Lovely. So I drove down here for a single dosage of praziquantal. They had it available and the woman took me right to the aisle. I bought Sentry WormXPlus. My dog didn't care for the taste, but it worked. I talked to the owners and enjoyed my visit. I've come here before for the Saturday pet vaccine clinics, but the current dates are now Fridays and Dr Moffett retired three or four years ago and is back in Virginia. She was a great DVM with great people skills and downhome country style treatment. I've also bought vaccines for puppies at a price cheaper than what the big-box stores in town charge. read more

Jem's needs to stop selling the business. Every new owner is less pleasant, less efficient, less quality materials than the previous owner. I know times are tough but quite frankly, when you've been a consistent buyer for numerous years, they need to do more. We buy (used to ) hay from Jem's. For 7 years we remained loyal. We're an older couple, so we pay for delivery and buy in bulk. Lots of hay. Thousands of dollars in hay. But the last few years it's been crap! Literally, junk. So dry, the alfalfa blows away in the wind. Almost no flower, falls to pieces the minute you break open the bales. And zero moisture. Junk! And when we would complain they would tell us to bring back the bad bales and they would replace them. We've even found and photographed animal bones in the bales! Seriously? We wouldn't be paying big bucks for delivery if we lived just down the road. We are 45 minutes away! Finally, after dealing with not only trashed, badly sun-burned, two year old bales of #2 alfalfa that had zero substance and had to be 'shoveled' into stalls, they also delivered truly hideous bermuda that we ordered as well. So dry, brittle, and horribly baled by the farmer that it became pure waste without a nutritional drop in it. Granted bermuda is a 'salad' to keep critters busy and is not truly nutritional, but when they walk away from it, and I'm talking cattle, sheep and goats, then there's a problem. They even had the gall to suggest we come down and 'look at the bales' prior to ordering. What the heck! If so we might as well take along the trailer and get it loaded there! Truly bad business, with owners that just don't care! Their turnover in young help is constant. These kids come and go with new faces on each and every delivery. When I'm spending a couple thousand on hay, I expect decent edible hay, not the crumbs or bales that the mold has been scraped off of, or it's sat in a field uncovered for years. Their only saving grace is Karen at the counter, but the rest are not that pleasant or sociable, nor do they bend over backwards to provide that top of the line service. In this day of competition, they can't afford to provide such poor service. I finally found a better hay resource and am now incredibly happy with the better prices, service and quality of hay. It's not like we didn't give them a chance. After several complaints that fall on deaf ears, we take our thousands to a new resource, and they are smiling all the way to the bank! we love our feed store! New ownership and management made it better than ever. Service is great and the value of added things like the bulk equine supplements and shot clinic etc make it even better. Sweet and helpful staff, well trained hay loaders and things like having different grass hays etc also make it better than the other options. Saving a little money goes a long way. read more

The people here are super nice, and they carry one of the only canned cat foods my kitty will eat and reasonably priced, too.

Everyone is friendly, attentive, and knows their products. Definitely appreciate their local presence.

The staff is amazing those young kids work thier butts off and try their best and the customer service is great sometimes they make mistakes but they fix it there are many people who say otherwise but that's just because they don't get what they want but they dont control what comes in or if tags rip they are thin pieces of paper the boss Jared is an amazing person and takes care of his customers and they like you to check your bags because they can mess up too nobody is perfect people who give 1 stars are just mad because they are garbage customers and don't deserve business from this amazing little feed store. read more

This feed store used to be a reliable source of livestock feed and other supplies. That was when the original owner was alive, now that he's gone and his son has taken over you never know what you'll get when you hand over your hard earned cash. They have cheated me on numerous occasions, and I am (was) a regular customer. I thought maybe it was the kids that they've hired to work there just not paying attention. But when the owner, Jarrod is the one doing the loading, that can't be an honest mistake. They tear the labels off the feed before they sell it, and because all the bags are the same with the particular (local) brand I use, you don't know what you're getting. On more than one occasion, I've received the wrong (cheaper) feed and the label was torn off. Most recently, it was Jarrod because no kids were working that day. This is just dishonest, and I don't know why he thinks he can get away with it when experienced people are getting the wrong feed and our animals are suffering as a result and producing less, which affects local farmers where it hurts the most, in the pocket book. They never offer to come out and replace the feed, ever--because they charge customers $25 for delivery-I've never heard of a feed store doing that to regular customers. Worse yet, they never apologize when they make a mistake and they blame it on the customer, saying that we should check the load before we leave. Well, if there are no labels on the feed, what can we check, and if its the owner that loads the feed you'd think you could trust him. Wrong, don't trust him because it will cost you. These are examples of other instances of bad / dishonest customer service: They sold me some feed, took my money and when it came time to load me up, they didn't have the feed in stock, so they gave me another brand without even asking if it was ok. It was a brand produced in California, where there is a Newcastle Disease outbreak. On another occasion, they sold me feed, took my money and when they didn't have it in stock, they offered me a more expensive brand, and then made me go in and pay extra for it. I'm sorry that the original owner passed away, but maybe they should have sold the business after that, rather than sully the reputation of their predecessor and what used to be an honest, dependable business. Maybe this review is too long, and I should wait till I've cooled off before submitting it. But its really frustrating when you've been had for the umpteenth time. read more

Rude and inconsiderate. I got off work today and had enough time to make it to Jem's right as they would normally close. So I called to ask if they would be able to accommodate me arriving right at 5:30 PM to purchase a bag of dog food, and the response was, "Try to hurry." My assumption was that they would wait for me; however, when I showed up at 5:28 the gate to the property was half closed. Furthermore, there was an employee leaving in his vehicle, which he used to block the other half of the gate while he shook his head to gesture "no" while pointing to his watch in a condescending manner, taking no effort to get out of his vehicle to discuss the situation. I would expect that if you tell someone to hurry, you are setting the precedent that you will serve them. If you aren't going to stay open to at least your own business hours, please don't insinuate that you will over the phone. Have some dignity and follow through with what you say. read more

Very happy I found this place. I only needed to purchase the vaccines so I could administer myself. The person at the register was very helpful explaining the vaccines that was needed and when they were due to be given, gave me a vac record to keep history of vaccines given. I was able to get 3 vaccines I could administer myself for the cost of 1 with veterinarian. Veterinarian will need to do Rabies vac, but it's still worth the economical cost. read more
