A cool succulent, lichen, and plant art piece in the tasting area of Barterra.
Brianna D.

Barterra is very easily one of my favorite wineries! Delicious and well-balanced wine with incredibly insightful, welcoming, and friendly staff who answers all the questions you have. One of my favorite places to just go and exist while enjoying some delectable wine! The art and plants add so much to the chill ambiance of this fantastic winery!

Cute tasting room in downtown Half Moon Bay. They were previously located further down the block tucked away in a little courtyard, but now they're on the main strip front and center! They have plenty of indoor seating as well as a few tables outside. They had a few different tasting flight options when we went, we opened for one that was all white and one that was all red. We ordered at our table and the wines were brought out to us on cute little slate serving boards. Each wine came in a mini mason jar so that you could pour it in your glass at your own pace when you were ready. Of course everyone's wine preferences are different, but I personally didn't love any of the wines I tasted. I ultimately I preferred the whites over the reds. As we were checking out though, I noticed they had a rosé and asked for a taste, I'm so happy I did because it was fabulous! I ended up taking a bottle of that to go. Overall a cute spot with friendly service!

Loved the customer service here! Loved the Sojourn Blend Lodi and Exploration Blend Lodi-, for the White we also purchased the French Colombard- if you are looking for something fruity and sweet! Very cozy inside with a mini shop for souvenirs and funny decor!

Wonder flights and great snacks to have while tasting their wonderful wines! Our pups loved sitting outside and the staff was attentive and kind!

Stopped by during the pumpkin festival and it was a nice place to relax and try some wine. I tried their reserve Cabernet and Pinot noir. Both were good but I thought they were overpriced. The staff were so nice and friendly that the overall experience was great.

We stopped in to this cute little tasting room on a lazy afternoon in Half Moon Bay. The gentleman behind the counter welcomed us right away and invited us to sit down. He was on his way out, but still took time to tell us a bit about the wines and take our order. We decided to both enjoy the Bold Reds tasting...three generous pours for $15. Melissa took over and poured our wines - Voyage Blend, Odyssey Blend and Syrah. The tasting is presented in little mason jars on a tasting board - cute presentation. Melissa was great. She was able to answer all our questions and provide insight into the wines and winery. She even offered a bonus pour of another wine not on the tasting which she happened to have open. I believe it was a Petite Syrah, but I could be mistaken. All of the wines were quite nice. We ended up staying for a glass and taking a couple bottles with. Great experience and I would definitely stop in again!

Super cute and small winery in downtown HMB. Good and knowledgeable customer service. We got a flight of red and white and enjoyed it outside while chatting and people watching. Also got some protein and crackers on the side.

Stopped in at this wine bar in downtown Half Moon Bay. I tried a flight of Pinot Noir, while my husband tried a red blend flight. The host was friendly and attentive. I loved the Pinot flight, while my other half was a little less enthused with his selection. The cost of a flight was pretty reasonable, about $15. They also had some cool merchandise, like fun wine glasses. I'd definitely go back and try some other flights on a return trip.

The correct Address and location.

Great selection of well made California wines under its label and direction in close coordination with at least two of California's well deserving wine makers. Barterra's available French Colombard and Vermentino selections attracted me to visit for tasting. Results exceeded expectation. Purchased 3+3. Chris Minoletti Is knowledgeable, attentive, accommodating, and most importantly hospitable. Supported by lovely counter staff, great place to enjoy a glass or two, flights and for the best prize, take away a few bottles to pair at home. If visiting www.baterrawinery.com "experience the very best of California wines all in one place!". It lives up to this claim! Caution: Google Maps shows correct address however directions go to the old location.

On a trip over to Half Moon Bay this weekend we ended up dropping into Barterra Winery. Though the small staff was friendly, I did not like two of the three wines I tried of the wine flight, which was very unusual for me. After ordering a sparkling and being given a Brut, having expected a Roux, it seemed to be mostly downhill from there. Three pours for $15 was already on the steep side (apparently it used to be four?), but the Moscato was bland, and while the final red was enjoyable I would have much rather purchased a glass of Prosecco retail for $12 at a bar and enjoyed that since I'm not normally a red person. The seating must be nice in fair weather, but it was a little chilly to be completely comfortable during an overcast day which added to the not-steller experience. We wanted to sit together and Barterra is "cozy" inside with very very limited seating. Having really enjoyed our experience at Half Moon Bay Wine & Cheese Company down the way (which also served food) Barterra just didn't compare. I probably wouldn't be back, but the honey enjoyed his glasses, so three stars.

We visited 3 winery's, 2 that we wanted to go to, the other she recommended. I would recommend going with her recommendations since it was my favorite winery's of the day. She picked us up on time (8am, she was there early) from our hotel and we headed out the the Muir Woods. The woods are so magical with the amazing redwood trees that were HUGE. After the woods we headed to our first winery. Stagsly vineyards is a bigger winery with some great Cabernets. Their tasting room was beautiful and overlooked the massive vineyards. Next we went for lunch at Gotts. This place had some seriously delicious burgers and tacos. Everyone in my family got burgers and I got shrimp tacos that were very fresh and tasty. Their special Mexican street corn was also one of our favorites. After we went to Ambers winery recommendation that was soldero. This was a smaller boutique type vineyard. We started our tasting with a tour of the property and their new rose that will be launching in July. The rose was our favorite. We were also able to go down on the vineyard and see the plants which I thought was very cool. The staff was friendly and sat chatting with us down in their tasting room. Finally we stopped by Cuvason which had such a classy atmosphere. Beautiful indoor and outdoor tasting. They started us off with a complimentary rose champagne. After we tasted a savigon Blanc, another rose, and 2 Cabernets. Again would recommend the rose, however I still think the new one from our second stop was best. All in all we had an amazing time with amber she was a fantastic tour guide and helped us to not only learn about wine country and the Muir Woods but also new wines.

I would highly recommend the private wine tour with Jensen. He picked us up at our hotel in a…read moreLincoln Navigator. He selected 3 wineries that fit our group beautifully!! He was very patient with us as we spent time at wine tastings and enjoying the beautiful views at each winery. He was very knowledgeable about wine and the wine country and gave us alot of information on the ride to and in between wineries. Jensen is vey personable. So if you are looking for a personalized wine tour, look no further. We also took the city tour in the open top vehicle. BEST way to tour San Francisco. Jensen gave us alot of information on the city and significant places throughout the tour. Jensen is great at reading his customers and altered our tour to include a trip across the Golden Gate bridge into the city of Sausalito. He caters to his customers and makes the experience truly personal and memorable.
