While I'm very happy that a grocery store has come in to replace the ShopRite that left last year,…read moreit's too bad it had to be a Tops. I will only be using this supermarket when I can't deal with the extra 10 minutes in each direction to go to Kingston instead. To start with, many items are expensive. Follow that up with "sales" that require you to purchase multiple items in order to avoid heavily inflated prices. Buy one get one free sales are great, but if the one is extremely overpriced then those of us who live alone will never get a decent price on those items (I don't think I can eat 36 ounces of blueberries before they go bad, for example). Another big issue for me is that the rotisserie chickens are incredibly dry. I purchased one the day they opened, and it was so dry that I called and told customer service that I understand it's their first day and maybe they needed some time to work out all the imperfections, but the chicken was almost too dry to eat. They kindly offered me a gift card for my next visit. I went today and used that to purchase a rotisserie chicken. This one is also going to need a lot of sauce. The staff is very nice, everyone I interacted with was in fact "friendly". But I really miss ShopRite prices closer to home. And their chicken.

I've lived in Ulster County for 13 years and have come to recognize Freskeeto as a first-class…read moreindependent food supply service. Family operated and completely quality conscious, Freskeeto ensures that the restaurants to whom they provide food (including produce) will serve the finest meals. Freskeeto also has a walk-in cash-and-carry service so that civilians can stock up on great products. I, for instance, get the large Hatfield breakfast link sausages which are not available in supermarkets. My hat goes off to the staff and service at Freskeeto and I look forward to patronizing restaurants who get their food from Freskeeto.

I was a driver for Freskitos frozen foods business in the ninties. I'm surprised they are permitted…read moreto even stay open. Once a week I was instructed to make a delivery to a diner in Fairoaks which was not to far from Middletown. I was told to drop off bags of potatoes which were about 40 to 50 percent rotten. The restaurant was charged a minimal amount for these rotten potatoes. I don't know if you have ever caught the smell of rotten potatoes but it is down right nasty and disgusting .Obviously not healthy! The restaurant would be charged a minimal amount for these rotten potatoes. Obviously lower then the original price. The restaurant would get one of the lowest paid workers to separate and skin the better ones and using them for unknowing customers. Not sure if this practice is still in effect but Freskitos should be ashamed they are selling produce like this to save 5 to 10 bucks. We are talking about potential food poisoning!
