I had been using another tree service over the…read morepast 10 years or so, and although they were always top-notch as far as their service, they were much more expensive - ridiculously so, I've since discovered. I won't name them because they are also very good at what they do. But I wouldn't recommend them unless price is of no importance to you. Edgar gave me an incredibly fair price to take down two large Silver Maples (approx. 40' and 50' tall) and haul away all of the debris. They were careful to not disturb our yard (which just had new sod put down this past Spring), and carefully replaced everything that they needed to move. Due to certain logistics regarding where the trees had been located, I couldn't have the stumps ground. But Edgar was able to saw the stumps down practically to ground level. I really can't say enough good things about Edgar and his crew or recommend them highly enough. They were on-time, considerate and thoughtful, attentive to detail, and highly efficient. I will be using King Tree Services from now on for all my future tree care.

In fact, they had multiple team members reach out to myself and my neighbor, whom we did a project together (tree removal). The project walk-through was excellent and the quote came the same day. I liked when the customer representative walked through with me, asked if I was a veteran (and I am), and provided me a veteran discount. The quote was obviously the best, as we went with them, but even if another vendor came in at the same price, I would probably go with JL Tree bc of their responsiveness. I had one vendor who didn't call me back for over 30 days! The day of the project was excellent. The foreman and I walked through the project (three tree removals). Tonya kept in touch with scheduling after accepting the quote and shared their business license and insurance. On the day of work, it was great to have David lead the project work. He knew exactly what needed to be done and was respectful to conflicts on my personal calendar during the day. The crew showed up around 12pm and were done around 3:30pm. Not only was the work completed efficiently but for a really good price compared to other providers. The crew also left the site clean as a whistle. They were professional, cleaned up after themselves, took care not to hurt our house or anything on our patio, and they only walked on hostas that were already dead for the season and they did NOT walk anything that would be hurt from the foot traffic. Great service! Originally we were going to have 2 large limbs removed that hung over our house…read more Then we had an Ailanthus tree fall from our yard onto our neighbors fence. So THAT needed to go, as well as the remaining 2 ailanthus trees. Then as we looked at the tree with the large limbs, of course then we see it was rotten at the top. So that huge tree also needed to go. Bottom line was we spent way more that we had initially hoped, but once the crew was working it was easy to see why it cost what it did. They had an amazing piece of equipment that fit into the backyard and was able to reach way up to the tree top. The crew did a fantastic job of removing the trees without hitting our roof, the fence, the neighbors house and fence, etc. They also did a wonderful job of cleaning up after the removal, and it at our request left us some oak firewood, nicely stacked. I would not hesitate to hire them again. I had gotten several other quotes before going with Mills. It was hard to compare quotes because we ended up doing more work that initially planned, but we are glad we did the additional work.
