This is our must stop when traveling through Chicago. This place satisfies your deepest craving for honest Italian comfort food. I appreciate the vegetarian options at a "meatball" place. We just found out that they will ship their pizzas- we are in so much trouble. I have enjoyed the eggplant parma and scalloped potatoes. The calzones are a must try and of course get the meatball app because OBVIOUSLY. Hubby thought he died and went to heaven when he had the beer nuggets. On Friday July 28 I had my mind set on ordering a deep dish pizza from Bartolini's for lunch. I had a special offer I received from the restaurant. It was sent to my email. I bragged about it before lunch and a coworker was also interested. I decided to pop for his pizza. The offer was good for up to 5. So I got on the phone and ordered 2 small deep dish pizzas with sausage. I was unable to go pick it up so I sent somebody to get the pizzas with 25$. The deal was 9.99$ per pizza. Before I sat down to eat the pizza I was handed my change and receipt. I got back 1.82$ in change. The total was 23.18$ Right away I knew something was wrong. I looked over the receipt and seemingly I was overcharged. I contacted the restaurant and the gentlemen told me that midlothian charges high sales tax. I said back to him 3.20$ seems like more than the usual 9-10%. He was polite at first but I told him that he overcharged me. Then he said that's how his cash register is set up. I told him By right the pizzas should have cost 9.99 x 2 plus midlothian sales tax 10.25%. = 22.03$. Basically I paid 1.15$ more than I should have. I told him Beggars doesn't do business like this. I also said I hope others weren't overcharged. Then the gentleman told me I was a pain in the a** and I don't ever have to come back. He then got very upset and rude. I have patronized this establishment before in the evening and things were ok. The food tastes good and the girls are very pleasant. I had a similar incident two years prior to this over 10$ off any large pizza and I went round and round. He said after the first incident the glitch with his register would be fixed. I have been a loyal customer of Bartolini's for over 12 years. It has fantastic food and there is something on the menu for everyone. The sandwiches are gigantic and the meatball sub and chicken parm are stand outs! Dom and Chris are professionally trained chefs so their specials are always fun and different! The pastas and salads are delicious as compared to much fancier places downtown and the portions are very large and will accomodate the heartiest appetites with leftovers to snack on later. The restaurant is very clean and simple. The atmosphere is warm and friendly with a very welcoming and dependable staff. Dom, Chris and Dawn Bartolini are always on hand to make their customers feel welcome and appreciated. I have catered several family events with Bartolini's and would not use anyone else. Their pizza is delicious! The pricing is similar to other pizza joints in the area 20ish for a large/family sized 1 topping. Unfortunately we were not thrilled with their bruschetta appetizer. This place is amazing. My mom, sister, and I came today to try this place out and it was DELICIOUS. The restaurant is really cozy and welcoming. When we sat down, we were immediately greeted by our waitress, who's name was Natalie. She was stupendous! She was super nice and came to check on us many times. We ordered the beer nuggets for an appetizer, and they were SO good. I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with Grilled Chicken, which was once again, delicious! We had encountered a creep who kept coming to our table to try to talk to us, which was very frightening. But, Natalie had immediately noticed how uncomfortable we looked and went to talk to her manager about the Drunk guy. We felt safer and thanked her. Overall, this restaurant is a MUST. I was dying for a great pizza and saw this restaurant on Goldbelly as having highly rated pizza and meatballs. Ordered to surprise my husband and we received it today and it did not disappoint. The pizzas/meatballs were wrapped and stored in a cooler box appropriately and were fresh upon arrival. The pizzas are all loaded with cheese and meatballs/meats. Also loved the magnet that came in the box as we collect these types of humorous things on our garage tool chests. A bit pricey but definitely worth it in our current mask mandatory environment. I have been here about 3 times. Each time has been pleasant. I came for a baby shower in the private dining area. I have to say that I defintly recommend this place for a small event such as a bridal shower, baby shower etc. The food was great and the area was spacious. In order to write a review you have to give it a star. Not Happy with the Sevice. Waiting on to get drinks, then order and then 40 miutes to get a appetizer (bruschetta) Crazy right. Wait not even 5 minutes later get your pizza. Here jam it down your throat. It took a few minutes to get another drink. Was looking forward to my first visit to Bartolini's , and everything was great . The food was delicious, service was great , but something awkward really happened to me and my girls. Some random guy who was obviously drunk approached us in a weird way. The server which was great and her name was Natalie noticed it , so she said she would inform the manager and take care of it.. that was nice from her..that guy,though,came back a couple more times to the restroom just by where we were seated and gave us the look a couple of times my daughters were scared , but I assured them everything was gonna be ok, and it was , but as soon as we walked out of there we ran for our car. I think the bartender there should know when a customer has had enough, especially the way the guy was acting and anyone who saw him would know he was drunk , way drunk. I took my wife here on a Sunday. They have a Sunday special which is 1/2 off any pizza. We ordered a family size pizza and a meatball sandwich. One of the partial owners came to our table and told us that since there was only two of us, we could only get the 1/2 price deal on a medium. Let me start by saying I Ordered from this place for over 15 years. I would get the same thing everytime chicken parmigiana. The last 10 or so times I would get it it was burned every time. This time I told them over the phone don't burn it they put don't burn it on the receipt so i get my order and guess what BURNED BLACK like they did it out of spite! Finally I decided I'm just giving my money to them for nothing so now I'm writing this the chicken was burned BLACK! When I called they told me I could drive all the way back and get another one. After I sent a email with picture proof of the black chicken they told me I could have another one. Thought to myself yea you guys can't cook it correctly in the first place little own wonder what you will do too it now. I have lived in the Southwest suburbs for about 10 years now and for the past 6-7 years i have heard about this hidden gem in Midlo next to a DMV and though I have driven by many times, I had never stopped in. I saw the restaurant featured in a TV show and how they raved about their meatballs. Though I have never been a meatball-kind-of-guy, I was told about their calzones, and pizza overall. Even better when I found out about their half-priced calzones on Thursdays. So I brought in my wife and son on a Thursday night, because when I called to order out 2 calzones I was told only dine-in. We stopped in around 8:30 p.m on a Thursday but was told the pizza oven was already turned off, even though their website says they shut it 15 minutes before closing. Anyways, we decided to try it again the following Thursday for lunch this time. My wife ordered a steak sandwich, my son had the pizza slice, my nephew had the cheeseburger--all of them had a soft drink with their order but I wanted water with lots of ice. So I ordered my calzone but was told that in order to get the half-price I must order a soft drink--for $2.29. So the regular price is 10.99 half price is 5.99 plus the 2.29 for the soft drink. I tried to say that my wife wanted the calzone since she had already ordered her soft drink, and that I would have the sandwich but the waitress did not buy it. When we got our food--30 minutes later--the food was ok. The calzone wasok, greasy, small, and nothing especial. My son's pizza was just as greasy, the steak sandwich was ok and the cheeseburger was nothing out of this world. The refills on the soft drinks were so slow, even though there were only 3 more tables with customers and no one at the bar. I really wanted a refill on my water but the waitress never offered, in fact she never offered any refills, we had to ask. I was happy I did not stopped in for the 10 years I lived on the South Side, and I am glad I will not be stopping by again. read more

Decent beef sandwich. The flavor is a little lacking, which you can fix by asking them to put garlic butter on your sandwich. The hot giard has plenty of olives in it, but it was way too mild for my tastes. My wife likes that you can get squeeze cheese on it, but that disgusts me personally. I was debating between 3 and 4 stars, but since they require an ID to use a debit card they get 3. Merchant agreements state that they cannot require an ID to make a purchase, and I've reported the violation. Of course I have an ID, I just don't like being treated like a suspected criminal when getting my lunch. read more

Visited Bartolini's after reading an article about them in the local suburban paper. I decided to try their breakfast menu, which the paper raved about. I couldn't decide between the Portabella Mushroom Eggs Benedict & the French Toast, so I got both! It was delicious! I had never had a portabella mushroom with my Eggs Benedict, and it was fantastic. I definitely want to stop by there again if I'm on the South side in the morning again. I went to Bartolini's soon after I saw the program on the Travel Chanel. I had a Meatball Sandwich with Sweet Peppers, and a Chicken Stromboli with sweet peppers. The food was very good. I enjoyed the meatballs. Their flavor & texture complimented each one perfectly! The chicken Stromboli was good. I enjoyed it but not as much. The chicken was in "squares"?? That didn't seem to be "natural". I've never had any "square"/ cubed chicken. Slices or strips of chicken would have been more enjoyable. to me. Their service was TOP NOTCH and a BIG plus. They welcomed me as I walked in. I observed that they did that to ALL their customers that came thru the door. I WLL be back to get more of those meatballs. They were that good. You don't get better Italian food or service than Bartolini's. The staff here are the nicest bunch of people. Even on busy days, my food always gets brought to my table a lot faster than you might expect, and it's always a delicious meal. The servers are so polite, and the owners even make their way around the dining room to check on the customers and make sure everything is ok. Great comfort food and the portions are generous. Hesitant about ordering their pizza for am usually disappointed . Must say gave it a try and the thin crust was delicious and crust very crispy and thin. Feel the sauce could use a little more spicing up but the pizza was good and the vegetables on it all fresh.
