Came here because not many places make basque cheesecake. That said, I guess i didn't do enough of my homework because not only could you not sit inside and eat your cheesecake, but there was no plastic forks offered to eat it in the car. It's a very small operation where you order, pay and go. The cheesecake was not baked to a dark dark brown as I would have liked it but it was very good. Very creamy!

Oh my gosh! This little walk up bakery counter in Tacoma is amazing. I would have driven by had it not not been for the fact that I had previously looked up Tacoma bakeries. So I recognize the name when I saw it. There was line out front, which is what got my attention in the first place. So I turned around and managed to find a place to park. I ordered the Pork and Asparagus Empanada and the Cream Bun with Pistachio Nuts. As I went home, I figured the empanada was probably more dough than filling because they usually are and I've never seen one that big. Wow! Was I wrong! I wish I had taken a picture of what I bought, but after the first bite, I couldn't stop eating it was that good. It was packed with meat, so moist, tender and delicious. And the crust was so flaky and buttery. Then the cream bun which was amazing just like the first one I had in Sicily. So sweet and delicious the soft bun with the perfect amount of sweetener in the cream filling. YUMMY! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BAKERY. It's only problem is the color matches the brewery next-door. It blends in which is why you don't see it as you speed by. They might want to change their colors to more red less black and add a pop of yellow so they stand up from the place next-door.

I am so thrilled that this incredible bakery is now in Tacoma! My boyfriend and I stopped by when we were in the area after puppy preschool. It's a little window that takes orders. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We ordered a hojicoco, cookie bar, pan de sal, cheese/olive/ham wheel, and of course, their signature basque cheesecake. All of their baked goods were delicious! The cheese/olive/ham wheel was my personal favorite. I liked the contrast of crunchy/soft textures and enjoyed the flavors. The pan de sal had a nice crust and was perfectly salted. The cookie bar had a shortbread texture and I liked that it was not too sweet. The basque cheesecake was exceptional, as one would expect! It had a nice caramelized flavor and was not too sweet. The texture was very smooth and custard-like. The hojicoco tasted like a regular hot chocolate because unfortunately the hojicha flavor didn't come through. I would definitely order any of these baked goods again, but their Instagram page has me drooling and I can't wait to try their other creations. I highly recommend trying this bakery and I'm already looking forward to our next visit.

10/10 no notes. I cannot even begin to put words to this delicacy. The BEST carbs in town, the texture, the flavor, the not too sweetness of the sweet toast, warmed upon order. The owners are friendly. Will be back again and again. Go now.

Great food, good people. Everything is made with sourdough. Get the cream filled concha if they have it!

You can see from the top crust that the loaf is tight. There are tiny air pockets indicating very little life in this sourdough bread.

While the basque style cheese cake was delicious their country loaf was horrible. I have eaten many styles of breads from many bakeries and feel I can make this statement!

I know they do not have regular open hours for just walk in purchase, but rather, they're custom order type business, but I have yet to place any custom orders so I cannot speak to that experience. What made me write this review is how accurate the owner (Brianne) described cake and desserts in the description and the baked goods taste matched 200% of the description. The pistachio cake was out of the world, so was the whoopie pie!!! I got to meet Brianne in person and she was very friendly, and was kind to explain everything about each of her baked goods she had out that day. I've tried their baked goods from pop tarts to cookies to housemade Twinkie and the creation and taste are unmatched. Single serve baked goods were more on pricier side, but well worth every bite. I would definitely order custom baked goods from here, knowing the quality and taste of products from this shop!!! Currently, you can find Spilled Butter baked goods at Cosmonaut coffee, Outer Dark Coffee, and at Tacoma Farmers Market (also known as Tacoma Broadway Farmers Market) from time to time. Enjoy!!!

The cutting cake was so beautiful - literally the cake of my dreams and prettier than any Pinterest photo. We ordered the V GF orange cake with Bavarian cream. I ate 3 pieces the night of our wedding!!! Seriously the best cake we've ever had. We also ordered 3 sheet cakes of the regular (non vegan/gf) chocolate, white, and lemon. The cake was almost gone by the end of the night and we had multiple guests ask where it was from because of how good it was. The tasting experience was fun and the staff were very nice/helpful with recommendations and questions. Thank you Corina for my dream wedding cake

The floral arrangements and product displays were clearly designed with great care. All the items are wrapped in plastic wrap to keep them fresh. The shop is quite spacious, and the interesting paintings on the walls really leave an impression. All of this plays a huge role in building up their customer base. Service: The signage inside is clear, and everyone lines up in an orderly way. The staff is warm and welcoming, and they even asked if I wanted my bread warmed up. The order came out very fast--overall, a great service experience. Taste: I ordered two pastries: an almond croissant and a chocolate croissant. The almond croissant was packed with ingredients, with a thick, rich layer of processed almond filling in the middle. The texture was great--highly recommended! However, the chocolate croissant was a total disaster!!! My first bite was actually satisfying; the chocolate flavor and texture were rich. But on my second bite, I realized... it was underbaked. So disappointing.

So as my go to guide I yelped it! And up popped Kusher Bakery. You know I had to go and today we went there. It's an Eastern European bakery, and grocery store with products from multiple Eastern Europe countries. The selections are very good and then there is the bread baked daily except on Sunday. A bonus is the fact all the fresh baked bread can be sliced for you or you can take it home and slice it yourself. Having this service is great. Dark rye, 12-grain, and others that are....... well too many and all looked delicious. There is fresh baked Lavash, soft and delicious and many of the breads were still warm and fresh. The fresh piroshki! Awesome to say the least, Chicken, Cheese, Cabbage, and Apricot were available and hot. Look you can go to the other market on 70th and get very good stuff and pay quite a lot more, or go to Kusher and get a better selection and pay reasonable prices. Yes it is smaller but bigger is not always better and having this small place is a positive. For me Kusher wins hands down. So go, look around and get some awesome stuff.

Nothing says "great workout" quite like immediately replacing every calorie you just burned with one of Bakery Nouveau's twice-baked chocolate croissants. I prefer to think of it as strategic carbohydrate replenishment. Everything here is exceptional. The pastries are buttery, flaky, and somehow manage to ruin every grocery store croissant for the rest of your life. The coffee is excellent, the staff is consistently friendly, and it's one of those places where it's impossible to leave with only the one thing you came in for. The neighborhood feels safe, parking is plentiful, and the only real hazard is convincing yourself you deserve "just one more pastry." Five stars. My spin instructor may disagree. Bakery Nouveau is worth every extra minute on the bike.
