Finally had the chance to stop by here this morning and by far one of the best Banh Mi sandwiches I've ever had bread on the outside is crispy but the inside is soft I got the combination sandwich and it was filled with meats nice veggie toppings the jalapeños had the perfect spice and the ladies behind the counters were nice will definitely come back and get more. I was severely disappointed by my sandwich. I saw an influencer rave about this place so I was excited to try. This place only takes cash or Venmo. Small and decently clean looking as can be expected for a small Vietnamese deli and drink shop. I ordered the combo and at first sight it looked like a very well made sandwich. Upon my first bite, my excitement was washed away by the overwhelming pork taste. I am a fan of an original Vietnamese sandwich where you can taste the pate and crunchiness of the pork head cartilage. However this sandwich had a boiled pork taste I was not expecting that overwhelmed the sandwich. I love boiled pork when it's cleaned and prepared well but this did not. I could barely taste the pickled veggies or pate. Did they even put pate like we confirmed? The bread was hard and chewy instead of a fresh crunchy French bread that is expected when you get a Vietnamese sandwich. Definitely not a return for the price I paid. The shop was small and has a mom and pop feel with only one table and a few counter seatings. The owner who took my order was friendly. I decided to order the combination banh mi and tried their dragonfruit sugarcane drinks. FYI this place only takes cash but there's Venmo/Zelle option, which is nice if you don't have cash on hand. Overall, the sandwich was good but I wish the bread could be more crunchy. They load the sandwich up with lots of meat, which is worth the price. I came to this local mom and pop shop while visiting Washington and tried their chicken banh mi sandwich. It was sooo delicious and fresh. I would have preferred the bread to be slightly crispier though. However, what stole the show was their sugarcane drink and sticky rice with taro and coconut milk desert. Oh my god... their kumquat sugarcane drink was ABSOLUTELY REFRESHING on a hot summer day. Their sticky rice desert was the perfect desert to compliment their sandwich; it wasn't overly sweet but still satisfies my sweet tooth. The owners were incredibly personable and welcoming. They did only take cash or Venmo though. I will be visiting this charming hidden gem the next time I am up here and in the area. read more

This deli and bakery is a formidable one on finding some of the best Banh Mi sandwiches in town. There are several great places in town to get these sandwiches but this place is a favorite of mine. Love the pork sandwich here and hard to tear myself away from getting something else. And the Boba Tea here is great! I love this beverage and love the fact that it's much more common now wherever you go. I will tolerate the places that make these drinks from a powder but it's so much better when they use the actual fruit the flavor is for. And it looks like they make it fresh because I got avocado flavored Boba and a avocado is what I saw for the preparation of it Highly recommend this little place. The banh mi here is straight up addicting. I used to live in the LA area & delicious, fresh, cheap banh mi was so easy to find everywhere in LA & OC. But this place is an absolute gem! The bread/French roll here has a crunchy, crackly crust with an airy middle and the #17 combination sammich is loaded up with classic cold cut meats, pickled carrots, cilantro, jalapeno, and mayo I literally got here lunch here two days in a row bc it was so damn good. First day, went with my friend & she got the grilled pork banh mi. Next day, my husband also ordered the grilled pork. All super yummy & freshly made to order. $6 for this banh mi, other ones with grilled meats are $5. All banh mi are about 12" sammiches that definitely fill you up. Way better value than anything you can get at chain sub sandwich stores. ***NOTE: They reopened as "M & K Bakery" instead of Huong Que Deli. Very minimal seating inside (small space). Mainly a pick up/takeout space. I don't often leave reviews. I jumped on Yelp after eating the báhn mì I ordered on Door Dash. I've tried the báhn mì from the other places in Tacoma and they don't even compare. The bread...THE BREAD! Is so fresh and makes all the difference in a sandwich like this. The pork was so perfectly tender and seasoned. The veggies were so crisp and fresh. This place is delicious! I really enjoy the variety of Che's that they offer. I didn't really care for the pandan jelly though because the smell and taste of it was too strong. The banh mi da biet is really good! I've had friends and family rave about it after trying their banh mi special combination. The meatball one was a bit lacking somehow. Can't quite put my finger on it. They also have fresh sugar cane drinks and you can add stuff like kumquat and durian to it if you'd like. Anyway it's ran by a sweet old couple and their daughter. So delicious! We had tofu and pork meatball bahn mi sandwiches with pineapple & strawberry fruit juices.

I curiously went into M&K as I saw the menu and large sugar cane drinks. My weakness! Not only do they have sugar cane drinks, but you can add flavors such as durian, kumquat, salted lemon, pineapple, and strawberry. Additional flavors are 50 cents more. Do note that if you require less ice, it's $1 more. NO ICE is additional $2. Makes sense because you will get more sugar cane in the cup. Their menu also consists of Vietnamese sandwiches (banh mi) for $5, spring rolls with pork, rice noodle bowls or with rice. They also offer Vietnamese iced or hot coffee and some smoothie flavors. I suppose their cakes are made to order as I did not see any in the case. One down fall is that they are accepting cash only. Hopefully one day they will be able to accept plastic. For now, make sure to carry cash. The staff was friendly with smiles behind their masks! I'll have to ask about their cakes next time. read more

Not too long ago while at the market with my wife, we parked on the street and I could not help but notice a sign in one of the windows of a neighboring business they had sugar cane juice. My wife saw me looking and naturally she looked and her face just lit up. Being from Cambodia and Thailand, she grew up drinking real cane juice and it was one of our favorite beverages. Turns out M & K Bakery is not just a place to get freshly made fruit juice, but sandwiches and they home make cakes! Well then, Banh mi sandwich it was in addition to our cane drink. The whole canes were pulled from a cooler below the new machine and the lady ran them through several times extracting all the fresh juice she could. While she was doing this, the other lady was in the back making our sandwiches. Once the juice was extracted fully, she poured it into a plastic cup and I asked for light ice then placed it under a sealing machine (same one used for bubble tea) to keep the drink fresh. M & K is a CASH ONLY place so make sure you have those bills ready to go. Their prices are very good and they are generous with their portions. Products are fresh and very good.
