From the moment you go up the steps of this boutique spa, to the end of the massage when the masseuse hits the lovely cymbal, you are enveloped in the calm and relaxing atmosphere. The small details, such as a heated neck wrap while you sit, a hot towel for your back, neck, and feet while you slip into a lovely happy mood, hot stones, and even the eye pillows elevate the service to a new level so well. They also have great tea options, and even some chocolates to sip and munch on while you wait in the cozy waiting area. I was treated with such kindness and respect and even got to meet the owners, one of whom gave me a quick tour - definitely recommend doing that for any spa you go to!. I walked in without an appointment ready to come back later or another day, because these days I just get too bogged down with the online booking systems. I was immediately welcomed and to my luck, they had an opening for a massage just minutes later. I really needed to relax and Harmonie delivered! Do yourself a favor and add the CBD oil to your massage - nothing like lengthening the relaxation a few hours! Each room has an air purifier device, something I don't think all spas have, and my room also had a lovely sound machine that I now want to purchase for myself at home. You can see my prior reviews for other spas, but Basalt takes the cake for my vote on the best spa in Salt Lake. Well done Basalt!

I absolutely love Basalt Day Spa! I've been coming here for a year now. I used to do my facials with Jessica but she left and now I do my facials with Rachel! She's freaking amazing. This spa is clean, professional, friendly, and reasonably price for what's included. The rooms are dim and the essential oil diffuser, the calming wave music, and the bamboo decor adds to the overall spa experience! I highly recommend the Rejuvenate and the Glow facials. They both include massages which is my favorite to pair with facials! You will absolutely love your skin after your appointment. Can't guarantee you won't fall asleep. It's that relaxing! I've added a facial and a massage from Basalt Day Spa as my monthly self-care routine! Fyi, for parking, there is a parking lot next to Basalt Day Spa building. You don't need to park in front of the building. (Those spots are usually taken or can be dangerous when pulling out based on where they are and the constant construction in that area).

Really great day spa with quality organic and vegan skin care options, and excellent aromatherapy massages. I've had both Steven and Samantha work on me and they both did a wonderful job. Will be back for a spa day soon!

I was in Salt Lake City for a few days so decided to take care of myself and get a massage. The Day Spa is on the second floor of the building. You'll walk up a flight of stairs which opens up into a nice bright clean waiting area. I was quickly checked in and proceed to get my massage. I requests for the remedy massage which was deep tissue to kick some knots out of my upper and mid back. It was a relaxing and much needed massage. I will return the next time I'm in Salt Lake City.

Do they have salt rooms, relaxation rooms or a sauna?

Hi Antonia, we are a very small, boutique spa. It’s almost like having your own private spa! We do not have any additional amenities like a steam room, sauna, etc.

I am interested in a mani/pedi and a massage. Do you do this?

Hello Nancy, we do not offer nail services. We do have massages, facials, and body treatments, however! Please visit our website at www.basaltdayspa.com for our full menu of services. Thanks!

I made a couples massage reservation weeks ago. Hot tip: they do 15% off sales a few times a year so get on their email list and buy a package since they don't expire. We got their Kura massage and they were able to get us in the same room. It was so relaxing and every time we go, I always regret not getting the 90 min massage. My massage therapist Kierstie was incredible! I mentioned my neck and upper back pain and she perfectly focused on them and the surrounding muscles to loosen all the tightness. My husband had Heather and he said she was great too! The massage beds at Kura Door got a big upgrade years ago to medical beds so you can get maneuvered into positions that are more optimal to get certain muscles. Ugh! I can't love this place enough. It's peaceful from the minute you walk in. You're escorted to take your shoes off and shown the dressing room to change into your robe. The waiting area has warm water, dried fruit, cold water and teas that are DIVINE! We didn't get a facial but in past times, I generally always get one.

This cute facility is tucked in the Avenues neighborhood and while there isn't a ton of parking in the lot, it's not too difficult to find a spot on the street within a reasonable walking distance. The staff was really nice and the facility was clean and sanitized - both big wins in my book. There are also lot of different offerings to be customized to your liking and you can spend time at the steam room or quiet rooms with light snacks, water, and tea options. I loved every minute here and can't wait to go back!

You can tell that she enjoys her work. She has a positive attitude, and it is a pleasure to talk with her. Her deep tissue massage was very helpful. My body felt great the next day. The idea of a non-invasive protocol that might help reduce pain levels and increase my mobility was too tantalizing. Could it help me? Indeed it did. Kiera took a comprehensive history, asking questions such as, did this happen or did that happen, and my startled response, "Well, yes." The injuries had been years ago. Yes, my balance was terrible. The exercises are tiny movements and right on the first session, we began working on my knees. I couldn't even remotely squat; the best I could do was a tiny dip and feeling like my knees were full of cold, stiff marshmallows. My knees had once been injected with cortisone and had only a couple of days relief. I wore them taped a lot. I stomped down the stairs one stair at a time because I couldn't bend my knees enough to go down "normally". Just turned 60 and this was as good as it was good as it was going to be? This first session yielded an improvement in my knees, and it's only been onward and upward. My pain levels have dropped, along with my mobility increasing. The pre and post test showed inches of deeper bend with less pain. I step lightly down the stairs without grabbing the railing and doing my "Frankenstein stomp". I can stand on one leg. Some people have knowledge and skills and are technicians. I give them credit for their learning and skill. Others are healers with the knowledge and skills. Kiera is one of the latter. Mind boggling how much she knows for not being very old. Stagger, limp, totter, but get yourself to Smart Move Wellness and Kiera. You can thank me later.

As for the scheduling I went through the online booking again and actually got a response back within 10 minutes confirming my appointment. I spoke with julieta before my left and she listened intently and with care as I explained my frustration and validated me through the short conversation. I can say that I will continue to come here and getting great care from their massage therapist. Previous post: I have been coming to this spa for massages one and off for a few years now. I have always had a pretty good experience however today was not that case. I had set an online appointment before they opened which showed in their website and schedule to be available. I recieved confirmation that I would be texted to confirm, well 45 minutes after they opened I had still not gotten a confirmation so I went in at the time I scheduled which was 1015, I was told by the masseuse at the computer desk that my appointment was not confirmed, I then said you guys open at 9 it is now 10 a.m. why was I not updated with confirmation if my appointment was accepted or not. I was told we must have been busy. And basically that since it was not cinfirmed then I should have known. They offered to schedule me for 4 p.m tonight which does not work. I left and as I was walking out the door I then recieved the text saying my appointment request was not accepted. Each time I come I spend well over 120 dollars plus tip for one massage and I do it gladly, this lack of care from the staff or even acknowledgeing the frustration makes it to where I have to consider coming back again.
