Upon my arrival I was warmly greeted by two very nice ladies who seem to be preparing for the day. I was a bit indecisive about what I wanted but the both ladies were patient with me. One lady took my order and also prepared my breakfast sandwich, While the other lady nicely helped other customers that came in. I ordered the #2 (turkey egg and cheese on a croissant) small coffee and French chocolate doughnut. My total was $12.50. The sandwich was good and different, it's usually yellow cheese but this one had I think white American which was good. Also when I looked in my bag the lady added extra doughnut holes the ambiance was very clean, the windows were clean and also the glass where the treats were. Yummy hole-in-the-wall donut shop! I always love these mom/pop type of donuts than Dunkins or Krispy Kreme. Visited Bascom Donuts after getting some coffee at Philz and it hit the spot. The lady that helped us was very nice and gave us three donuts instead of just the two we ordered. :) The donuts were not greasy and were fluffy. 6:15 am early morning dropping off a patient at Bascom Surgery Center. I needed a hot cup of coffee and perhaps a donut. I saw this shop across the streets as I pulled out of the Surgery Center. So convenient, and I was delighted to know that they were open and already had so many freshly baked donuts and hot coffee selections brewed and ready to go. The two elder ladies behind the counter were warm and hospitable. I bought a coffee and two donuts. I was happy to see a couple of extra donut holes in my bag as I checked out, just because--what a pleasant and sweet gesture. I was gracious. They have a great location with ample lighting, excellent service, a good donut selection, and good coffees. We need one of these models on every neighborhood corner. So I've been here a few times and the place always seems clean and the staff is friendly. However, the donuts are just average. Not a bad thing, but not a reason to go out of your way either. Just a regular, neighborhood donut shop. Using my standard donuts as a rating...the maple bar had a nice thick coating but could have more maple flavor. The jelly and cinnamon roll were very average. The jelly filling was slightly better than most but the dough part not so much. Probably wouldn't go here again unless I was craving donuts and I was in the nearby area. read more

My son and I went to try this place out. We ordered about 6 donuts and an apple fritter to try out the variety of donuts. We arrived home and cut a few of them up to share. Our family favorite was the ube donut. The ube donut is rich purple color and sweet but not to sweet. A few of the donuts were just way to sweet like the smores donut, but i can understand the appeal. Why four stars, the donuts had good texture and variety. They were good even the following day, they didn't feel like day old donuts. I would go again. Recommendation, go early. We went about 9am and there was a line and not a ton of variety. Rough outside and semi tight parking lot but the service was fast and friendly, and the donuts were fresh, sweet and delicious. They do take credit cards. I got a sugar twist donut and glazed and my friend got a glazed and raspberry jelly filled. She didn't like the raspberry jelly filled - said it was a little too much and slightly sour but we loved the other donuts. Very tasty, soft, and light. They even threw in some donut holes for free. I get like a dozen of them and have brought them to different job sites i have worked over the years. It never fails in the fact the guys on the crew hound me to bring more in for the next week. The very kind woman always puts in either donut holes or bonus donuts (like I need them, but I eat them, you betcha). It has ample parking (except when busy, lol - but people are quick in and out). I stopped going to donut shops long ago, but this is next to my dentist (how ironic is that ;). I tried this place for the first time on a Friday. I got there at 10am and I was helped immediately. They have a huge variety of donuts so of course I had to try a variety sunce it was my first time. I got a bearclaw, regular glaze, lemon filled, and a cinnamon roll. They weren't the freshest but they all tasted good and they didnt taste like oil. I will have to come in earlier next time. Also, they could have been fried just for a little less time. The lady was very nice and she gave me free donut holes and a chocolate donut. I certainly didn't need those extra calories but it was very nice. It took me two days to eat them all. read more

I'm just doing the review on the service. my family has been coming at least 3 times a week. we love the donuts but the lady that makes the sandwiches gave us attitude when we asked her if she was going to make new coffee she raised her voice at me and said there's some on the funnel. we don't know how long that coffee has been there. we seen her and the older lady picking her favorite people and make them fresh coffee when they demand it. hopefully it's not racism but they do be picking their favorite people the two older ladies. there's a young cashier and she's always nice to us. because of her and the food we still come back but the two older ladies either find a new job or stay at home. be equal to everyone. read more

Conveniently located on Bascom, I bought some donuts on my way to work (cause everyone knows morning traffic blows). The selection of donuts was fantastic and service was speedy. Quality was top notch and not too oily or sugary. They def did not skimp out on the icing and flavorings, which I always appreciate. I owed my roommate donuts, and this place has been on my to try list for about 3 years. So I finally made my way over here. We got 4 donuts to split: 1) Glazed old fashion - nice taste. as expected. 2) Crumb - this had a great cake texture. lots of cinnamon in the crumb mix. This was probably my favorite. 3) Maple Bar - good raised doughnut texture. The maple layer was thinner than other places, but I liked it. Not too sweet. 4) Frosted Cake doughnut - cute, colorful and sweet. Texture was in between raised and cake. I liked the texture. My roommate really liked this one. I think this was her favorite. Staff was nice. Threw in some doughnut holes with my purchase. 4 donuts was $4.80. This also had egg croissants that smelled amazing. I was looking for a vegetarian one on the menu, but didn't see any. No veggie option. Not even just simple egg and cheese. They all had meat... So I skipped out and just got donuts. A neighborhood gem- We bought 2 dozen assorted doughnuts and 1 dozen doughnut holes for my son's summer camp team this morning. Great experience purchasing -kind and patient as my son sorted through the abundance of variety (chocolate, sprinkles, jam filled, etc). We also didn't have to wait long. It was like doughnut heaven. Breakfast sandwich - custom made after ordering. Large croissant filled with plentiful scrambled egg, a nice blend of melted cheese and a thin slice of deli meat. It's definitely a great value and a better option than nearby Subway or any fast food breakfast menu. Apple Fritter - I'm still in search of an apple fritter with a plethora of apple but I've resigned myself to the fact that an apple fritter is more a donut than it is an apple pastry. The apple fritter here was large and nicely glazed but only had a few tiny pieces of apple. It's a great donut, just not the apple filled pastry I've heard Bob's Donuts serves in SF.
