I loved the shop. It is a very pleasant place, the service was excellent, and everything looks delicious. I would just like to point out one aspect that I did not like. Through the window, you can see the employees preparing and handling the pastries, and I noticed that they do not wear gloves. As a customer, that seemed unhygienic to me and gave a bad impression. I've been a Paris Baguette customer for over 10 years, so this experience at the new Camden location was surprisingly disappointing. The employee at the register communicated in a very dismissive and condescending way throughout the interaction and kept changing the reasons why my prepaid cake order was not prepared as requested. First it was the timing, then a policy issue, then staffing. In the end, she wasn't able to resolve a very simple issue professionally. What was most shocking was that instead of trying to help, I was told to leave the store and threatened with police involvement over a prepaid cake order issue. That is not an acceptable way to treat loyal customers. This location's customer service and staff training clearly need improvement. read more

No pictures because I never got my food. I ordered on the app on 5/5, received a call within 15 minutes from a store employee who said they didn't have either of my items. Not having the app align with actual inventory is unfortunate - both items being unavailable doesn't seem likely if reasonable attempts are made to sync - it must be quite delayed or only rarely synced. They asked me to cancel the order from the app. But there's no cancel function once an order is placed, so I let them know I couldn't cancel from my side. After a bit, they said they figured out how to cancel it at the store and the pending charge would go away. But 2-3 days later, the charge appeared, so I had to call the store. Coincidentally, I reached the area manager Emma and explained the situation and the incorrect charge given I never received any product. It took her a bit of time, but she saw that it wasn't properly cancelled on their side. However, she couldn't authorize a refund and would have to contact the owner Nicki to authorize the refund. She promised to get back to me within 1-2 days to confirm the refund. 3-4 days go by and the charge is still there and no callback. I call the store again, am told when she'll be there. Each and every time for 4-5 days in a row, she was never there when they said, they'd tell me when she would be there the next day, but she wasn't. So just trying to contact her to get status on the situation dragged on for close to a week. I finally get a hold of her last week on 5/14, and she said she thought it was approved, but apparently it wasn't, and she'd contact the owner again. At this point, I'm really tired of chasing people on the phone to get the status of something that they say THEY would get back to me on, so I suggest, "How about I just come in and get my original order?". I'm told, no, she can't do that because we've already started the other process (which has gone nowhere up to this point after 9 days). From a customer service, flexibility, and adaptability standpoint, that response was very poor. I'm told yet again that she'll call me back after she confirms the authorization of the refund. I really really don't understand why a $4.99 charge can't be authorized by a general manager. That seems very strange, but given I have no other choice at this point, I say fine, I'll wait to hear from you. It's now 5/21, another week gone, with zero response and no indication of a reversed charge on my credit card. This is really extremely poor customer service, any way you look at it. It shouldn't be my responsibility to chase her down again, so I'm initiating a chargeback on my credit card. Creates more work for more people now, but when a business is unable to address a simple situation like this, you're not left with very many choices. read more

I don't like to write negative reviews, however the customer service was so poor that I felt the need to comment. I went in on a Tuesday afternoon around 3pm. There were two other customers in the shop. There were three employees behind the counter. One on her phone and two others leaning on the counter next to her. They glanced up as I approached the counter and seemed bothered that I had intruded on their time. I asked about the three samples available. Two of the employees departed and the one who responded did so begrudgingly. She shrugged and said- "people like that one" pointing to one of the sample trays. I took a sample of the chocolate ganache cake and moved aside to try it. I felt that the cake was a bit dry. I then returned to the counter to ask the difference between two of the cakes. I wanted to see if all the cakes had the same cake base. I asked the employee who used his fingers to explain to me that the thickness of the cakes was different. I nodded and asked "so are the chocolate cakes the same or is one different?" He again seemed stumped by my inquiry. I believe he was trying to explain that to him the only difference was in the thickness. I decided I wasn't going to get an actual answer out of him, but I chose to get the chocoholic chiffon cake, hoping that it would be a different cake. Upon taking the cake home, I tried it and discovered that in fact yes, it was a different cake. The chiffon cake was more moist and had a better crumb. Would I recommend the chocoholic chiffon cake? Yes. Would I recommend this location? No. And that's based on the rude, uninformed customer service. If you're going to work in the customer service industry, you need to be more personable and you need to be knowledgeable about the product you're selling. read more

So happy this location is finally opened! Not sure why they would only show very few available items when trying to order from the app for this particular location. Good that we still decided to come over and check it out on Sunday. They did have all the usual drinks/pastries/cakes/sandwiches and other treats! It's bright and clean, with lots of tables inside. Parking was easy. Ordered one of their new drinks, salted caramel pretzel matcha latte with almond milk using the $3 offer via the app. There was a short wait but the drink was delicious. So glad we finally have a Paris Baguette closer to home. Hope they fix the app soon. Every time I went to a Paris Baguette, it looked like they had hiked the price again, though. read more

I visited this place with my kids around 7:30 PM to get pastries, and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. Just as my children were about to eat, we noticed that one of the strawberries on the pastry had clearly gone bad. I went to the counter to inform the cashier, and her response was that the strawberries had been cut and sitting out the whole day, so they might have gone bad. That explanation was concerning, especially when serving food to customers -- and kids. It also made me question the overall freshness of the products being sold. At 7:30 PM, there were still a large number of pastries left on display, which made me wonder how long some of the items had been sitting out. Freshness and food safety should always be a priority. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves quality control moving forward. read more

Paris Baguette has a super aesthetic vibe, and it's very clean. When I checked out there was a staff member that was a little bit rude (as in sassy tone), but she packed the pastries very neatly. I can't believe I'm having to post this, but you don't make iced green tea by sticking a tea bag in a cup of ice water. You brew the tea in bulk, keep it in a storage vessel, then dispense the tea over ice when ordered. What I was given will never make tea, as you need HOT WATER to brew it. Thanks for serving me pale green ice water and charging me for it. Every other Paris baguette knows how to make tea. Why doesn't this one? I'll get around to reviewing the food as soon as I stop being angry for paying for ice water and not having enough time in my day to teach your employees how to brew tea. read more

I have visited this location several times since it opened. My favorites have been the two cakes that I ordered for special events. One was the red velvet for a birthday and very cute. The other was the cappuccino cake --super-cute! Both cakes tasted fresh and flavorful. The various bakery items I have tried are quite attractive, but on several occasions have seemed a bit stale. I know they are not baked there, but I am not certain how often they are removed and replenished. Overall, they have been good. read more

This bakery is very close to my home, and I've been coming here quite often. I really like their cakes, and in the past, most of the staff have been friendly and helpful. However, my experience last Friday (April 3rd around 12:30 PM) was very disappointing. I tried to ask a few questions about the cakes near the display, but the staff member was unfriendly and insisted that I could only speak at the register. Since there is a noticeable distance between the display and the register, this made communication inconvenient. I simply asked if he could step a bit closer, but he refused and showed no willingness to help. Because I was in a hurry, I still purchased a cake. After paying, I asked if they had candles and disposable plates, and he just said "no" in a very dismissive way. What made this more frustrating is that the very next day, my friend went to the same store and was given candles and disposable plates without any issue. This makes me question whether they were actually unavailable, or if the service was inconsistent. I like the products, but this level of service is not acceptable. NOT HAPPY! I ordered a red velvet cake on June 25 by phone and paid for it in full ($50.99). The next day, I got a call from PB saying they didn't have all of the ingredients for the red velvet cake, so they wouldn't be able to have my cake for the 27th!! I was assured my credit card would be refunded ($50.99) in 3-5 days. Waited and waited, never got my credit. I called PB and asked to talk to the manager, no there!, and they never returned my call. Went to PB two times (manager not there) and reminded them that I hadn't received a refund or a call. I called on July 12 and left another message for the manager. They said the manager would call that day. Never got a call! Again, went to PB for lunch on July 13 and told the manager not there. I had it!! I called my credit card company and explained what happened and they reversed the charges. Hopefully, they were able to retrieve the $50.99 that I paid for a cake that I never got!!! read more
