I've been here a handful of times and sadly I apparently forgot to write a review!! Everything they have here is simply delicious!! Funniest thing is, I actually don't like eggs!! Hahaha although I loved their classic with added on avocado, and the egg was so light and fluffy, but the sauce is in the avocado, gave it such great flavor I didn't even care!! My three-year-old niece loved her classic sandwich without the sauce since she's three and she can't have too many flavors. Lol but she really liked the dirty Tots!! Hee My aunt truly loved the coconut water Matcha drink so I actually came back and got her a second one! Funniest thing is, my aunt doesn't like Matcha, but she loved how there was fresh coconut inside and how they're Matcha didn't taste grainy or like grass. Lol. I have been to their location in Santa Cruz some years ago, so I was excited to see this pop up in my neighborhood. This is in a busy complex where the parking lot is always a bit of a disaster. I did go early on a Saturday so it wasn't too bad. There are both outside and inside tables, and plenty of people hanging out and enjoying their breakfast. I didn't love the avo & tomato sandwich, I think because it has a fried egg and not the fluffy scrambled eggs, so the egg kind of disappears and most of what you taste is the bun. The tater tots were fantastic though, as was the special coffee with vanilla. I think I'd go back to make sure I order something with the fluffier eggs. The staff was very nice and also hard working. Definitely on the "hole in the wall" side of things, but it's a cute shop with mild surfer vibes. They make egg sandwiches, and they are tasty. I felt fueled for the day and it went well with a coffee. I don't know that there was anything extra special about this place, but I think they have a solid product with good ingredients. Price is a little higher than your average bagel sandwich breakfast but not unreasonable for the area. Also they were not overly attentive as staff (no one at the counter sometimes) but if you asked for something they were super nice and helpful. read more

Tried Mad Yolks in San Jose and got the fresh-squeezed orange juice, dirty tots, breakfast burrito, and breakfast burger. Overall, everything was good! The dirty tots were really good, crispy and flavorful, and I liked that the curry flavor wasn't too strong. The breakfast burrito was packed with eggs and bacon and had a lot of filling. We thought they had forgotten the potatoes, though, because we couldn't find any in the burrito. I looked through it pretty thoroughly, and even one of the workers checked with us, but we couldn't find them. They gave us potatoes on the side, but after eating half of the burrito, we found that there were actually two small pieces of potato hiding at the bottom so I do think they should add more potatoes! The breakfast burger was good, although the patty was a little dry for my taste. The restaurant itself is pretty small but there was a decent amount of seating. It was pretty crowded when we came, but our food came out pretty quickly, about 15 minutes. The only downside is that I thought the prices were a little steep but everything is kind of expensive nowadays. Parking also kind of sucks in this small lot. I debated on getting some tots. It is a pretty filling burger. It's hard to mess up tots so sure it would have tasted fine. Also tried the b.a.e. burger too. It was good too. The coffee is also good. SHROOMS: soft scrambled egg, fontina cheese, sauteed mushroom medley, camelized onions & Mad Yolks garlic aioli on a brioche bun. oh, and beware.... these sandwiches are very messy .. in a delicious way :) The staff were working like crazy but were still very nice and pleasant! It is a small place, I think they can only seat ~15'ish, but they do have some tables outside. Take out is also a great option, you can order ahead and pick up. Mad Yolks is still amazing! It's so funny seeing their customers go from Willow Glen locals casually grabbing a bite during the weekdays to Gen Z forming lines out the door by the weekend. The workers are super nice too. LYCHEE LEMONADE (5/5) - I never thought I'd need a lychee lemonade in my life but now i can't live without it. Subtle taste of lychee but the lemonade's on the sweeter side. Pairs well with the sando~ B.A.E (5/5) - I literally tried this during their grand opening and never looked back. It was so good and continues to be good! I think if they're busy they don't give you as many avocado slices. CURRY MOCO (4.5/5) - I've always been intrigued by this and finally gave it a try. Firstly we were hit with the aromatic scent of curry which excited us. The katsu was tender and crispy and absorbed a good portion of that thick curry. Yummy!! The egg was a nice touch as well. PARKING - It sucks, but there are a lot of new successful businesses in this plaza which makes me happy to see, they were definitely struggling to find tenants for a while. We came here on Saturday morning, around 10AM. There was no line waiting but they were definitely busy with a lot of order ahead, I could see there were tons of bags lined up on the pick up counter. The store is small with limited seats, there were tables outside but no shades. We initially ordered for dining in but after sitting in the burning sun for 5 minutes, we decided to bring the food home. We didn't wait too long for our order, 2 sandwiches, only 10-15 minutes. Staff were friendly and attentive to customers, despite being busy they constantly checked out for new customers and asked if they had any questions. I had a Shrooms sandwich while my boyfriend got the B.A.E. Their scramble egg was really good, buttery, fluffy and eggy, lol. There was a good amount of seasoning too. The only downside is we paid the price for "dine-in experience", $15 for just one sandwich, no fries or other sides, a bit pricey for a to-go sandwich, and my boyfriend was left not feeling full after the meal. Was really looking forward to Mad Yolks opening around here, there was so much hype and it is so close by. First time we went I got the madchick- the eggs were soft and fluffy and the chicken was moist and flavorful. The brioche bun is also soft and fluffy, but a little on the sweet side. Second time I tried their version of a breakfast burrito. It's over $14, so I had high expectations. I can't say it wasn't good. Good ratio of egg, bacon, and avocado. Wished there had been more crispy potatoes, but overall it was tasty and the salsa added some flavor (though not heat). My only issue was the tortilla. It was way too soft and literally falling apart where it hadn't been grilled. I had half and I was full! Service is fine, food is a little slow to come out, but nothing that a little patience can't fix. We have only been twice for a couple of reasons. This place gets so cramped and crowded during the weekends, and it's on the higher end for casual take out food. If you are going during peak hours prepare to wait and be a little too close to everyone else waiting to get their hands on the delicious brunch options. read more

We also got the b.a.e, which was just okay, but the mad chick being as good as it was totally made up for that. Came here on a weekday morning around 9am and it wasn't busy so I was able to order immediately. I got the classic and shroom sandwiches along with the dirty tots and a matcha latte. My total was $47 in the end. I would say both sandwiches were solid in terms of portion, but lacked flavor. The eggs were plentiful and fluffy and for the shroom one specifically, the mushrooms were tender and abundant as well. However, flavor wise I think both were quite bland and given the price point, $11+ per sandwich, I would've expected it to be a bit more flavorful. It genuinely didn't taste like they seasoned the eggs or anything. The dirty tots were worth the $7.50 though. The curry sauce was savory and went well with the soft and slightly crispy tots. The BAE was great in size! It was enough for me and my husband to not feel overly full. It was a bit messy, so id be cautious of this if you aren't looking to get your hands super dirty Their tots were super crispy and enjoyable as well! The BAE is a little less messy as it has scrambled eggs but served with the same tasty aioli. Wow was I pleasantly surprised! First time here and it won't be my last. The menu has a great verity and when I saw they had a curry fried chicken dish over rice I had to have. They did not disappoint. Fresh, hot and fast. You can really tell the chicken I made to order and the curry came out hot! My partner had the Bae sandwich! She loved it. To wash it all down the lemonade and orange juice were worth every penny. Service is helpful and fast. The chairs are not comfortable and you feel kind cramped when the store is busy. I recently found this place for a quick lunch bite when I was in the area so I decided to stop by. We got the Mad Chick, Shrooms, and Dirty Tots. The mad chick was good, with a big piece of chicken but I was personally hoping for a bit more flavor so it fell slightly short. The Shrooms was also solid especially as a vegetarian option, but it was also pretty messy and difficult to eat as a lot of the insides fell out every time you took a bite. The dirty tots were very good though, they're loaded up with tons of toppings so I definitely enjoyed that. The service was also good and we got our food very quickly. Honestly a little let down with this one. There were some things I liked but some I didn't. For starters the shop was a little dirty and it was barely 9am, trash left on tables and some flies buzzing around. They weren't too busy either. The strawberry matcha was a little gritty and the strawberry puree was very jelly like and hard to mix so you essentially had to drink matcha with random chunks of strawberry. I had the B.A.E sandwich to eat. I did really like the bun which held up okay. The soft scramble was really nicely done also. The caramelized onions were a nice touch. It was a super creamy and soft scrambled egg on a big brioche bun. Very decadent and dripping out of the bun (get a spoon). I'm not much for creamy... Still yummy but felt like a soggy burger. The soft egg could have had more salt or more flavor? Next time, I'll order something more meaty inside to offset the super soft egg. Tater tots were part of their Valentines special but tasted cold and day old. You can see the inconsistency- some looked and tasted extra dried out. Wouldn't recommend. Matcha latte was decent and tasted high quality. Note: there's no sugar in it so if you like it on the sweeter side, ask for sweetener. There's seating inside but it was pretty crowded. 3.5 stars for my first visit to Mad Yolks. My friend recommended we meet for brunch at Mad Yolks on Meridian at Willow. It's located in a strip with a Starbucks. I don't know if it's a super minimalistic vibe on purpose or if they're just new and haven't gotten around to decorating yet, but the space has plain white walls, white tables, and hard chairs. I saw 8 2-tops and 1 4-top in the cramped space. We arrived at 11:00, and the place was packed shortly after. You order, pay, and pick up your food at the counter. They may want to adjust the seating and placement of the menu, as just having one large menu on the wall above the condiment counter by the register makes it very awkward, as people are trying to gain access to the counter, maneuver around the line, and get napkins and such all in one cramped space. The items on the menu were described well, and there was an Asian-adjacent vibe (Spam, Taiwanese Chicken, and Loco Moco influences). I don't know if they were related, but the menu, including serving sandwiches on brioche, were very similar to Egghead Sando. I ordered the Mad Chick and some tater tots. My friend got the BAE. We both appreciated the flat-bottom bags the sandwiches were served in. The food was good, but the logistics and lack of soda (and no ranch for my tots) were disappointing. A nice carbonated Diet Coke would've been great with my lunch. Mad Yolks offers fruity drinks but no fountain or canned beverages I'd give Mad Yolks another try, but I might wait a while to see if they figure out their flow better for a more enjoyable experience. read more

In fact it was so busy we couldn't even find a table and had to wait around awkwardly with our food in hand...seating is definitely limited during peak times. We ordered the B.A.E. and plain tots: B.A.E. (4/5): Those scrambled eggs are so fluffy and pillowy soft! I like how they're not watery either like at some other egg sandwhich places. This nutritious chicken product is also nicely seasoned, and the creamy avacado, melt cheddar, spicy aioli, and crispy salty bacon provide the perfect complement. However, the brioche bun tasted stale and dry! It was cut really thick too. Plain tots (3/5): These were pretty standard tots, they were served hot, crispy, and well-seasoned. However, they tasted like chicken...something tells me they use the same frying oil for the fried chicken and it needs to be changed. Overall, the food was decent but has room for improvement. The propane/metal pipe smell of the restaurant as you walked in was weird, so we sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine. We ordered: Classic with bacon *** Breakfast burrito ** Plain tots ** The yummy classic sandwich with bacon is a good starter if you haven't been to Mad Yolks. It was heavy on the ailoli sauce and started falling apart. The small Breakfast burrito with potatoes, cheddar and bacon (one skinny strip), came with house made salsa which was tasty.
