Vegetable Biryani with tofu - so good!

I stopped here for dinner before a show in Dexter and was not disappointed! They have so many vegan options. I let my server know I was in a hurry and he helped me pick out something that could be made quickly, which I appreciated. The food was fresh and delicious and the place had an overall friendly vibe. I'm looking forward to going back and trying their curry.

Nice space, quick and friendly service! This place started filling up at 6:30 on a Thursday. First I enjoyed a cup of warming chai tea. Their samosas are some of the best in town -- light, crispy shell and SALTED on the outside which takes them to another level. The Momo Soup is super generous with 10 dumplings in there! The broth/soup is nice, a mild but interesting sweet potato puree, perhaps? I'm not an expert in this cuisine but it was comforting and not too rich or anything. Looking forward to stopping in again to try more of their menu!

Very cozy and inviting dining space! The restaurant is in a strip mall area, so there is a lot of open parking nearby. I've mostly gotten the steamed momo, makhani and chow mein, and both have been delicious! I request the spicy and it's properly spicy and still edible. Also, I love the mango lassi Great service - they are very friendly and deliver food to the tables quickly.

On a chance we found ourselves here. I've had Himalayan food at many other restaurants this time was different. First of all beautiful place simple nothing super fancy very family style atmosphere. Secondly service was quick and pleasant came in on a Sunday evening. Most tables were full, which was surprising for the day of the week and the time which was around 6:30 PM. My husband and I couldn't decide between two starters so we got the samosas and the veg. I can't remember what they're called but they were amazing. Then I got the stew with lamb, a huge portion everything was cooked to perfection seasoned very well. I would definitely get medium next time because mild was full of flavor, but it was mild and I like a little spice. My got the lamb in a tomato and yogurt sauce absolutely amazing tasting the lamb was so soft so succulent and they did not skimp mango. Lassie tasted like they had blended it fresh before they brought it out cool smooth and delicious. My only knock on it was the Naha it was one piece cut in half and I thought it could've been rolled out a little thinner and cooked a little longer however, I will definitely be back again and again and again do not miss this place.

The food is incredible! I love that dietary restrictions like vegan/vegetarian/gluten free/dairy free are all labeled on the menu. We had the Chicken Masala and Chana Masala and they were delicious.

Yum! Great option for a mix of Nepalese/Himalayan/Indian food and flavors. Assuming it's the same ownership as Everest Sherpa (same menu pretty menu), which I also love! MUSTS: - Steamed Chicken Momos. Both the momos themselves and the dipping sauces are fantastic and unique compared to other dumpling styles! So much flavor. - Bhuteko. Also more unique! We love both the lamb or chicken. Round it out with whatever you like! In addition to the above, we got (for delivery) Chicken Tikka Masala, Saag Paneer, Lamb Biryani, Vegetable Pakora, Garlic Naan, Mango Lassi. A little overboard for 2? Sure... but we couldn't decide on anything to take out so extra it was! Delicious all together and made for some fun leftovers. Would note that spice levels are not particularly high here. We ordered mostly Medium spice to be on the safer end, and it didn't have all that much of a kick at all. We'll do Hot next time!

Very speedy service. Had the shrimp curry, chicken bhuteko and veggie momos. All excellent.

Non-veg lunch special! So delicious! Comes with a drink of choice too.

Wonderful restaurant that shares the culinary traditions of Nepal, India, Tibet, and B! We got the non-veg lunch special (chicken makhani, naan, veg side, soup, dessert, and a drink of choice) and the lamb shyakpa (Sherpa stew) with a cornmeal dough. Highly recommend the hot tea. Both were delicious and flavorful. The stew had so many different types of vegetables. Both were delicious and filling! The service was really attentive and friendly. This is a Sherpa family owned and operated and one of the members has summited Everest 7 times! There is an entire wall photo of Everest. Very clean, lots of seating available.

Base Camp was sooo delicious! the staff were kind and very speedy. We had our food within 15 minutes of being sat:) We ordered the chicken makhani(), lamb bhuteko, garlic naan, chicken momo, and of course, mango lassi. Everything was delicious and came out HOT! The space was clean and cute as well:) Definitely worth a stop if you're a fan of Himalayan cuisine!

So so so delicious!! I'm not new to Himalayan/Nepalese food. We tried a bit of everything! Veggie pakora which was so crispy with delicious sauces. The veggie steamed momos were the BEST. Also tried the vegetable curry and it was perfectly spiced and full of vegetables. Their mango lassi was so creamy and comforting. Service was friendly and the space was airy and bright! Can't wait to go back.

A new ethnic restaurant opening up on the west side of town is always a welcome event. We've been driving by this spot for several months anticipating the opening of the Base Camp restaurant and were not disappointed. We usually wait awhile before visiting a new place to give them a chance to settle in but since we are real fans of this type of food we couldn't wait and went on a Thursday after it had opened two days prior. We arrived right at the 5 PM opening time and the place was about one-third full. By the time we left shortly after 6 it was full which is hopefully a sign of this place's future success. On this visit we enjoyed a half order of Chicken Momos, an order of Samosas, and order of Saag Paneer, an order of Lamb Bhuteko and some Nans. The food was uniformly excellent. Service was a bit slow as they are a bit short staffed and the kitchen was cranking out "to go" orders as fast as it could. Even though the service was a bit slow the staff were extremely friendly and apologetic. This is to be expected on the third day of opening a new restaurant. I am confident that in due course the speed of service will improve and won't be an issue. In fact, we are going to do a take out order tonight!

I'm a big fan of Asian food such as noodles and sushi. In fact, a long time ago, I visited a Chinese restaurant in Chicago, Illinois where I was introduced to chicken feet for the first time. Needless to say, I was hooked. Now, my folks and I have stumbled upon a Tibetan restaurant where the food is delicious and the customer service is absolutely spot on. Base Camp doesn't feel like a restaurant. It feels like a place where you feel at peace and you've been teleported to another world entirely. It had that kind of ambiance, it's that great. I recommend the Poleko and Soup Momo; lamb, rice, and chicken dumplings are certainly their specialty. I've gone to Base Camp about three times and not once did I have a bad experience. If you're looking for a good meal with great service, please visit Base Camp in Jackson, Michigan. It's worth your time.

Food was plentiful and tasty, but lacking some of the richness and spices I expected. Appreciated they were open Christmas Eve and fast.

Cleanliness, freshness, variety…read more Every once in a while place will surprise you. I walked into this place while traveling as a soccer parent. The freshness of the produce was the first thing I recognized in the buffet. Normally the texture feels off in a buffet but this reminded me of the freshness of my auntie's garden in India. The chickpeas were not over or undercooked (steam cooked?) and the raita was the rich consistency of home, not the quick and watered down version typical in casual fare. I am vegetarian and cannot speak to the meat dishes, but felt like some real heart was behind the cooking. Perhaps the Naan was the only drawback, losing its texture made in bulk perhaps. But the taste relied less on salt and oil and more on the ingredients and a sense of freshness on many items I might serve in my own home. I cook these dishes at home and on a few I felt like asking for some cooking tips.

Came here to try their lunch buffet with a friend! It's $16.99 on week days. We also added a 3pc…read moreveg samosa ($5.99) because why not.
