Local spot near my house, have driven by countess times, finally got hungry for a burger and tried it out. Drive through service - was bringing it home. Ordered the double burger w/cheese, dry with the veggies and a small fry. Food arrived quickly, order was correct. Not cheap, but find a burger that is and let me know - I'll go tomorrow. The good news? Damned good burger! Juicy, cheesy, veggys were crisp, meat was tasty, bun was grilled. Fries were good - sort of mickey d type fries, which is good for me. So I was starving and diving around doing some errands and drove past Bases. I always forget about this place off Alexander in Baytown. Not the hip strip like Garth rd. Word on the street the one in Texas City is pretty tasty. So I decide to give it a go. The place is really small inside. Service was good. I'm the only customer by the way. Ordered the Double Play with everything. The Burger was a solid 7. Really good. The fries were horrible. Tasted like they were from the day before left out overnight and the Dr Pepper was gross. The hamburgers were really good, but the lettuce was way bigger than the meat or the bun. The veggies were fresh enough, however. No complaints on the hamburgers or the service, everything was really good. But the young man who took our order spoke really, really fast, and we had to repeat our questions for him every time. It was a little embarrassing, but the super fast talk really made it difficult for us to converse with him. Thank you for a satisfying trip down memory lane. Eating my single play bacon cheeseburger hot off the line with fresh fries was worth it. Tender, juicy, fresh and made just like back in the 90's. Ordered 5 home run burger meals, 2-w/mayo & 3-w/mustard all the way with cheese and got 2-w/chs & all of them with mayo. Repeated the order 5x & they still messed it up. The only thing good was the toasted bun. I might give it another try in the near future, but I will not be going back any time soon read more

Every time I go the food is always good, the food is always fresh and the staff is always so kind to me. These burgers are by far some of the best burgers I have had in Baytown and it is very cost efficient. Why hasn't the health department shut down this place? Lettuce was black which can make people sick. Burger thin and cold. It's like they pulled the patty out of the freezer and tossed it into the microwave for a minute. Cheese not melted. I asked for mayo but they put mustard. I have no idea why someone would rate this place with 5 stars unless they owned it or worked there. Please listen to all the 1 star reviews. They refused to give me a refund. I ended up throwing away the burger rather than risk getting food poisoning. Or maybe I should have risked it and sued them which would force them to shut down. Visited Alexander Dr location Dec 20, 2023. Ordered two homerun combos, first strike was no Dr Pepper, strike two was the burgers, buns were small, lettuce was a week past garbage date,the meat patty appeared to have been heated in a toaster to a grey sheen. My wife took one bite and it went to the garbage, two bites and I followed suit. I will say fries were tolerable. Next time I will drive the extra mile for Whataburger read more
