Limited seating, but if you go early (they open at 8am) there's barely anyone there, especially in the winter down season. Decor is cute and no frills, very much a mom and pop place. Breakfast menu with all the basics - omelettes, eggs, french toast, pancakes, etc, along with coffee and tea. They have a lunch menu as well. Go for the eggs benedict! Only on weekends, and I believe they change it up. When I went, the options were with bacon or with apples and brie. It comes with potatoes as well. The potatoes were meh- not very browned and sort of mushy, but the eggs benedict with brie and apples was divine! Lovely hollandaise that was rich with a hint of acidity, which was amazing with the melted cheese and the slightly softened sweet apple slices. Seasoning was perfect. My dining partner also commented that the French toast was very good also. Prices are very reasonable, most things are less than 10 or 15 dollars. There was only 1 waitress working and she was very kind and efficient. When we first arrived there was no one present, though she appeared some minutes after (lol). She refilled our coffees promptly and checked up on us as well, and getting the bill was very quick and straightforward. Overall I really enjoyed it, even though the place was a bit cramped and the temperature slightly cold.

I do NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE! The owner or manager was rude and yelled at us, US THE CUSTOMERS. I was there with 8 friends. Their breakfast special this morning was eggs Benedict. The plate consisted of one very small English muffin seperated in two with very little bacon on one side only of the two half's. I do need to congratulate the cook on the sauce thought, it was yummy, very small amount but good but the plate looked empty. Visualize the 2 eggs on English muffin half's, very little sauce, less than 10 pieces of potatoes on one side and a very thin slice of a very small orange on the other side in an "S" shape. I had one person show up 10 minutes later than the rest and they refused to take her order saying that the kitchen could not furnish when no one was eating yet at our table. We felt bad for her when we finally got our order, so we shared our breakfast with her and Stoolies literally charged us $5.00 for making a change to menu. We protested since we did not make a CHANGE TO THEIR MENU as the owner came out and said it was clearly noted on the menu!! I took a picture of the menu and contrary to what the owner said we did NOT MAKE CHANGES TO THEIR MENU, we shared ours, which in my book is not at all the same thing. The worse was when we paid and were leaving he comes out and starts yelling and banging and almost broke the dishes on the table and almost the table, like he was trying to hurt us. I truly believe he needs lessons in communication skills and Customer Service Skills. I also think he need to go for management skills because they way he treated us I would be surprised if Stoolies stays open for more than a year.

There's parking in the parking lot but also street parking. We got there and were seated right away. They had lots of choices for food! We went with a taco and cauliflower appetizer. We had the poutine mexicaine which was amazing! The fries were curly fries that gave the dish a nice touch. For the main meal we had the Lyon hamburger which was absolutely delicious. They had plenty of drinks non alcoholic and alcoholic. Overall a great place for a girls night, date night or even lunch out with the kids!

Let's talk about the Mexican Poutine which is the one I picked - it's like a fiesta in your mouth! There's crispy curly fries and they loaded them up with nacho cheese and the freshest local curd cheese you ever did taste. And then, hold the phone, they've topped it all off with nacho cheese, tomatoes, bacon, and spicy peppers. A dollop of sour cream with a hint of cilantro brings it all together! Now, the Portuguese Poutine is on the new menu and its spicy chicken, peppers, and onions, and let me tell you,it's not super spicy so you'll be okay but the flavors were all there. The vibe of this place? Imagine snagging one of those big circle patio chairs by the water, sipping your Stewart's, and eating your poutine with the wind in your hair haha - talk about the ultimate summer vibes While other folks were at regular tables or picnic spots, I was living my best life tucked away under a tree beside the water. And hey, even on a Wednesday, this place was super busy!

The atmosphere is always very cozy and the menu is simply amazing. They offer a wide range of sandwiches, soups, drinks and desserts. Drinks include lattes, teas, coffees and smoothies. The menu is full of healthy options and choices offered for vegetarians. While they have their specialty sandwiches, you are also able to make your own! This is what I always do while I am there. My usual order is a panini with chicken, avocado, brie cheese, mustard, hummus, tomato and spinach. While the prices may seem just a bit high for some items, it is VERY worth it. For my sandwich, the amount of brie cheese they use alone would cost the amount of the sandwich. It is delicious and I am craving one as I type. There are quite a few restaurants in Ste Anne's I would recommend however this one is perfect for a snowy day inside or a refreshing summer day. I would go to TWIGS every day if I could.

The other place which was recommended to me to try was the cafeteria inside John Abbott College (but I decided not to go there for no particular reason). Cafe Twigs is located at McGill University's Macdonald Campus (on the West Island in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue) in the Macdonald Stewart building. It is a small cafe which serves lunch/breakfast food along with the usual snacks. Lunch starts at 11:00am (breakfast offerings finish at that time). For lunch, I decided to get one of their sandwiches as opposed to one of their hot meal plates. Their sandwiches are named after people (I'm assuming named after the people who work at this place). The sandwiches are pre-made and when I ordered it, I was asked if I wanted it toasted to which I answered yes. The person placed it into one of these grill machines while I waited and looked at their board hanging on the wall. I saw that they had chili so I decided to order a large chili as well. The sandwich was made ready in a few minutes and I grabbed my chili and sandwich which were placed on the counter and headed to the cash to pay (and get my spoon and napkins). They accepted credit cards and their machine was one of the touch machines so went very smoothly. They didn't ask me if I wanted my bill and immediately threw it in the waste basket. I found the prices to be fair or slightly expensive for what I got. It wasn't what I would consider to be inexpensive nor was it what I would consider to be overly expensive. For my meal, it was a little less than $13.00 which didn't include a drink. As a basis of comparison, the large vegetable chili here was ~$5.00 and it is smaller than a Wendy's large chili and the Wendy's chili includes meat. There were a few seats which were empty so I had my lunch there. This place is like a university cafeteria so most of the customers are university students and the seats get taken up pretty fast at lunch time. The sandwich that I had was pretty good. It was called the "T.J" and the chili was also very good for a vegetable only chili (I normally prefer a meat chili).
