It is often said that a picture alone can speak volumes. Here is my story of this quaint little Baskin Robbins that speaks of my long love affair with my wife and best friend. This review is called "50 Miles for an Ice Cream Cone" Even the normally prescient winds of change could not have predicted such a pivotal day in this young man's life. The local weatherman surmised that what started as a normal springtime shower in Phoenix, could actually be classified as a 100 year storm. It was on this day that I purposed to summon enough courage to ask this whimsical blonde in my school to a date. I structured my day in order to finish my engineering class final, attend my music lesson, just in time to pick her up after class. A lot was about to happen, only further complicated by this storm. I finished my exam with a perfect score, and then I quickly raced to my car, as the downpour progressed. The deluge on the streets impeded everyone's progress but mine. At home, I began to practice singing a sweet melody among the hundreds of memorized love songs over the past 4 decades. I memorized multi-generational love songs as they are such a diverse expression of heartfelt words. After practicing, I quickly left my apartment but had an unfortunate mishap. In my haste departing, I didn't see the two lovely twins that always seem to park themselves in front of my door whenever I practiced. I apologized profusely as I had tripped over one of them. Daughters of a divorced mom living next door, they seemed fascinated with my singing. Lovely and adorable as they may have been, my heart had already been smitten by the lovely lady that I was about to pursue towards an end that may be a lifetime. I quickly got into my car, and raced towards my music teacher's home. A Julliard trained former Met performer; she filled her empty days by imparting her gift to young students. Our conversations often reminded her of her deceased husband who had such a passion for music. During class, she noted that there was more tremolo in my voice; rather than the typical vibrato. I explained to her that I was uptight because I was about to ask what may be the only girl I will ever be with for the rest of my life. She smiled and reminded me of the time her husband felt when they first met. She cheerfully and promptly ended our session. When I arrived at the corner where she would board her bus towards her apartment, I saw a figure crossing the street that even in this torrential rain, would seemingly take my breath away. She wore a drenched pink floral dress, and a grey fedora cap - her hair completely soaked. I can't ever forget how she looked, and what she did to me that even in her saturated state, she was lovely and perfect. I made a U-turn, and pulled into the gas station next to the bus stop. I grabbed my umbrella and walked towards her. At this time, she was stomping on the wet sidewalk, for she was quite upset that she missed her bus. Although anger and frustration evoked a negative response from most people, it just seemed to endear her even more to me. I politely asked if I could lend some assistance. She didn't hesitate to accept my invitation for a ride home. This was my one chance to ask her on a date. As we drove towards our destination, I was quite direct in my questioning. I have never been one to hesitate. I often speak to complete strangers and engender from them life stories. My first question was if she cried much? I often noticed in our previous encounters that she always seemed so sad. She didn't know how to respond, but she did declare that she often did. My next question would be what would her ideal man do for her? She often dreamed as a little girl that the ideal man would go through the trouble of driving 50 miles to get her an ice cream cone. She also sadly exclaimed that no one had ever even asked nor cared about this childhood dream of hers. The rest is history. On our third date, on the way to the Grand Canyon, we drove through Flagstaff. We stopped by this Baskin Robbins and I offered to get her an ice cream cone in any flavor she wanted. I eventually married her and we have been long time friends and lovers ever since. We have always endeavored to relive that fateful day by partaking of the simple pleasure of having a Baskin Robbins ice cream cone in Flagstaff. After having gained, lost and regained fortunes, our tradition persists of driving there whether it was in one of several expensive German convertibles, or a 30 year old clunker that caught on fire in the parking lot. We recently revisited this place. The memories were as new as our first visit. The staff is extremely courteous and quite helpful. And the ice cream is still as sweet as my love for her. A recent visit on a rainy day brought me to tears as the emotions from memories of years past reminded me of how I have always loved her, and before she came into my life; there was to be the promise of her! read more

Sometimes you just wanna create a childhood memory - for me, that's chocolate ice cream, in a bowl, with plain chocolate syrup. No whipped cream, no nuts, no cherry. Just ice cream and syrup. Last night, even though the place was very busy at 8 pm, my tall young male server paid 100% attention to my desire for simple. He did just as I asked, even placing the ice cream in a bigger cup so that the syrup wouldn't blurb out over the top as I tried to spoon a bite of ice cream. I ordered quote, "in A cup, I want one scoop of x and one of y." She got two cups and put each scoop in a separate cup. When I told her I said "a cup" not two separate ones she told me I ordered wrong and should have asked for a "double". I've been coming here for years . My only complaint is that they left one girl to work the entire store by herself on a Saturday night. I get that we are in a staffing shortage, but, that's garbage management. We went to the BR store on November 14 around 7 pm. No one else was in the store except the 2 workers. They NEVER acknowledged us, never stopped gossiping between themselves and it's not like they were doing anything else like cleaning. We left. The service there was so bad, non existent really that I contacted the company. We'll see if they get back to me. If this is the best help they can get, they should close this store. read more

Decided to treat my kids with some ice cream and the closest available was this Baskin-Robbins. Selection was what I was expecting but the facility itself was much larger than I expected. There was plenty of seating for us (6 people) however the service took awhile to serve the long line of customers (feels like there was only 1 person working). We ended up getting the Blackberry, Cherry Jubilee, Icing, and Chocolate. I was pleasantly surprised that the overall sweetness to the ice cream wasn't as bad as other Baskin Robbins, but the taste/flavor just wasn't really there. My Cherry Jubilee literally had zero cherry pieces in it whatsoever as well. Hopefully it was just an off day, but I can't really recommend this place to visit but since there aren't many other places to get ice cream around here feel free to try it for yourself. read more

After a disappointing dinner elsewhere, my mother-in-law decided we needed a sweet treat to perk everyone up. We arrived after 7pm on a Saturday and found perfect parking out front. The inside was a little crowded, but not chaotic. I knew exactly what I wanted and searched the display case for chocolate ice cream with peanut butter swirls. This has been my go to ice cream from Baskin-Robbins since I was first introduced many years ago. I was so excited, I got two scoops. My sister-in-law and father-in-law decided on chocolate chip and my husband went with daiquiri ice. Everyone was happy with their choices and felt a little nostalgic. To be honest, I haven't been inside a Baskin-Robbins in many years and while the ice cream is the same, they have a lot of other new items. Joining the coffee craze, they have ice cream mocha drinks and other random milkshakes and smoothies. There was a display case filled with ice cream cakes and other confections. I think they even had a frozen yogurt machine behind the counter. Overall, it was a fun and delicious experience. The employees were very helpful and friendly. The ice cream was delicious and definitely a great treat. If you are looking for classic ice cream, Baskin-Robbins is the way to go. Definitely check it out! read more

I walked into this place last night and there was an upside-down ice cream cone in the middle of the floor with cone pieces and other detritus scattered about. There were tubs of ice cream stacked on other tubs in the freezers, which were also covered in ice cream splatters. The workbench behind the ordering counter was literally filthy, with dirty dishes and food bits everywhere. There were a handful of customers inside, but not enough to excuse the disastrous state. Unfortunately this is not my first negative Baskin Robbins experience. I have been to Baskin Robbins twice in the last six months within the last 15 minutes before closing, both times they have been absolutely disrespectful to my family and blatantly rude. I understand that workers in the food industry do not like customers who come in right before closing, but it was a last resort. I work in the restaurant industry and I serve people who come in five minutes before closing and they stay at my restaurant, eating for up to 2 hours after our closing time. I would never think to treat my guests with anything but the same high level of hospitality as those who come in during the middle of my shift. It is no way to run a business allowing your employees to treat paying customers so rudely. To be completely honest she practically refused to serve us. We came in 8 minutes before closing, she did not come out from the back for two more minutes, she didn't look at us and then I asked her a question she responded short and dismissive to us so we had our answer. Anyway. We ordered a medium pralines and cream malt and this is what the girl gave us. It has not been tried yet. We said what is wrong with it? she said we put extra malt in it and it's really hot outside. My son also got his chocolate shake in the same condition. We are really tired and it's really crowded in there so we said forget it I just took them. That's why we left and didn't go back in even though we contemplated it. We understand that it's hot outside and they get really busy however customer service should be outstanding especially when this place when we researched it has almost 5 stars on yelp. On a recent visit to Baskin Robbins I was left with the little bit of disappointment. I am hoping that they were having a bad night and this is not the usual service. To start the first thing that I notice is that the place was very dirty. The viewing glass that looks into the ice cream was filled with fingerprints and you can tell it hadn't been cleaned in a while. The weirdest part of it all is that all of the ice cream was gone there was only a few selections left I don't know if they were turning over the ice cream to get new stuff in or what but it only left us with about 12 different options far from the 31 flavors I was expecting. I've been coming to this location for years but now I am kind of hard pressed to find myself coming back any time soon. The service was okay but we certainly felt rushed half my family got to order before the young lady left to go attend to other customers then came back to finisher order I feel like we should've been able to place our whole order in one setting. With so many ice cream spots to choose in town I think I'll be visiting them instead of this location. I'll give them a try back later once they can get back to their old routine. read more

Growing up in Flagstaff I have ordered countless cakes from Baskin-Robbins. It's become a tradition on birthdays, graduation and special occasions to order an ice cream cake from this Baskin-Robbins. Today I picked up a birthday cake for my sister and was very surprised that the cake was not up to my usually expectations. I ordered the cake to have lavender colored frosting, white border, with purple and white flowers. I got a call on sat asking me if I wanted different colored flowers than purple as it clash with the lavender frosting. I said sure, let's make them pink and white. Thinking I would have lavender frosting. What I got was a PINK cake with multicolored specs on the white border. I called the store to ask for the owner to call me because I was upset with the cake I had purchased. I later received a call from the manager saying the owner had made those decisions on the changes on my cake AND I WOULD NOT BE RECEIVING A CALL FROM HIM BECAUSE HE DOESN'T CALL HIS CUSTOMERS BACK, he views that the manager should be handling the calls. All in all my hope for this review is for him to listen to his customers and if his customers are asking for him to call them he should call them! read more

I dont remember who the cashier/ server was but the incident happened on April 19th 2019. It was my birthday and my wife took me to Sedona for a mountain biking trip for the weekend. We just finished our dinner at Oregano's and they offer a free birthday pizza cookie which I turned down because my wife has celiac's disease and can't share it with me so for dessert we decided to come here for ice cream. We stood in the front waiting for someone behind the counter to help us but no one came. The front door opened and a family of four came in. The girl came out from the back and started helping the family before us, (which we didn't mind.) The problem came when another big group of people (somewhere between 6 and 8) came in and the girl behind the counter gave my wife and I a dirty look like we had cut in line. Then one man in the group behind us had the audacity to tell my wife and I where the back of the line starts. The girl behind the counter gave a rude snarky remark to my wife as I told the man behind us that we were there far before them. My wife had had enough and marched out of the store due to embarrassment and the way we were treated. Horrible horrible way to talk to customers. I doubt anything would be done about this but it should be known that the employee there was out of place in the way she handled this situation and the way she allowed for other customers to disrespectfully treat us. read more
