    Wrongfully labeled as chocolate chip

I hate to do this because this store has such a special place in my heart, but we had a really disappointing experience last night and think it is important to share with others in case anyone else wants to purchase a cake here for a special occasion. We purchased a birthday cake the other night and asked for chocolate chip but were given mint chip. I called the store and they were very nice at first - let us know we could get a new cake if we brought in the original and a copy of our receipt. When we went in to ask for a different cake, the shift lead Aaron let us know that we could only get partial credit because we cut into the cake already. Keep in mind we had cut a small sliver on the side and were returning the entire cake. We were cutting the cake to celebrate and when we noticed it was the wrong flavor we immediately contacted the store. Apparently they had wrongfully labeled this cake as chocolate chip - how would we have known it was the wrong cake if we had not cut into it? He was extremely disrespectful and yelled at us, saying they would not be able to resell the cake anymore because I had cut into it. It is extremely unsanitary to resell cakes that people have taken home. I let him know of this, then he confessed that the employees could have eaten the cake or taken it home but would not be able to because we cut the cake. Again, we cut it because we planned to eat it. How would we have known it was the wrong flavor if we had not cut it? When I asked to speak to the store manager they told us we would need to wait for forty minutes. It wasn't until 20 minutes of waiting outside that another employee finally offered us a full refund, but not before Aaron tried to give us only a partial refund again instead. Instead of apologizing for their mistake - they made this already strenuous experience more difficult. This was obviously a mistake on behalf of their cake maker and we were absolutely not trying to be difficult with the employees - I apologized profusely to them for the inconvenience but was not issued an apology on their behalf for their mistake. The other employees were very nice but obviously their hands are tied as they needed to follow the lead of their Shift Leader. Aaron was extremely unprofessional and unreasonable - he was begrudging, unsupportive, and unapologetic in the matter. The most logical resolution to something as simple as a mislabeling mistake would be to offer the correct item but we were instead made to feel at fault for their team's mistake. Our entire family and friends were waiting for us on this replacement cake and this entire ordeal took so much longer than we anticipated and honestly longer than it needed to take. We instead went to Cold Stone on Main St and got a new cake - the employees there were extremely hospitable and recommended different cake flavors for our occasion. If you are thinking of purchasing a cake here, make sure they give you the correct flavor immediately before you leave so this doesn't happen again. Double check on the labeling because our cake was incorrectly label. We will not be returning.

Like visiting this place though it's small space but they've got yummy treats and pricing are reasonable especially when using deals. Customer service can be 50/50 depends on whose serving and during peak hours it can be busy but still worth it. Hubby and I came to use our #tmobiletuesdays coupon

I was SO happy when Baskin-Robbins finally got vegan ice cream. They got three flavors at the location near me. They are all good, but the best one, in my opinion, is the chocolate chip cookie dough. They have been out for a while. I hope they are going to restock it. The service is good and the prices are decent.

I only come here when it's the 31st of the month since they have $1.31 scoops. The set up of the store is bad because there are three entrances/exits. I usually get gold medal ribbon on a sugar cone. The service is good too.

Embarrassed by this cake that BR thought was acceptable.

We noticed they closed at 9:00 PM so we figured we still had enough time. When we walked in two employees were cleaning and did not acknowledge us at all. The silence was so awkward that I even told my wife maybe they were upset we came in so close to closing. We tried to grab our yogurt as fast as possible but the whole time we felt judged and rushed. There was no greeting no kindness just silence and uncomfortable stares. When it was time to pay it was the same thing just a very awkward and rude attitude. I'm sure management can look back at the cameras if needed. This was a very uncomfortable experience and because of it I will not be coming back. I would not recommend this place especially if you are coming in anywhere close to closing time.

On multiple…read moreoccasions, I've stopped by this location, and every single time it's been spotless and well-kept. The service is always amazing and I know what you're thinking, "How can service be amazing when you serve yourself?" Well, let me tell you. From the moment you walk in, there's always someone ready to greet you with a smile. Whenever I've come in with my kids, the staff have been patient, helpful, and quick to answer any questions or recommend new toppings. One time, I was really craving warm caramel for my yogurt and couldn't find it. The young man at the register noticed, and instead of just checking us out like business as usual, he stopped and kindly told me exactly where to find it. That kind of attention to detail might seem small to some, but to me it says everything about how much they care. There's also a young lady who works there who's equally kind and attentive. It's refreshing to see young people taking pride in their work, giving great customer service, and creating experiences that make customers want to come back. Too often, people treat these jobs like "just a job," but not here. One more quick story when my daughter graduated from junior high, I called right before closing to see if we could still come by. It was about 8:58 PM, and the young man on the phone told me they closed at 9 but said he'd wait a few extra minutes if needed. We made it before closing, but he didn't rush us or make us feel like an inconvenience. He treated us with the same warmth and respect as if we had come hours earlier. That right there is top-tier customer service. So to the whole team at this Yogurtland thank you for your kindness, your patience, and your consistency. You've definitely earned a lifelong customer. -- Darrius G.

The Chocolate Dipper is honestly a hidden gem here in Merced…read more First off, Brittney, the owner, is just an incredible person. She's kind, compassionate, and has this energy about her that makes you feel welcomed the second you walk in. Now let's talk about the treats. Everything is delicious, but the apples are on another level. I've lived on different coasts and traveled quite a bit, and I've never had apples with this kind of variety, flavor, and quality. They're hands down the best I've had anywhere. What really impressed me too was traveling to different coastal towns in California and seeing The Chocolate Dipper apples being sold in other chocolate shops. That says a lot about the quality and the reputation she's built. On top of being an amazing chocolate maker, Brittney is deeply connected to the community. She's donated baskets, treats, and even her time through hands-on chocolate classes for people in the community, which really speaks to who she is. If you haven't been yet, I highly recommend stopping in and checking it out. You won't be disappointed. My personal favorites are the Rocky Road and coconut apples. -Matt Escobar
