I love the food and the ice cream I've been coming since a kid, I show and bring lots of people here but it's sad the workers now around closing time are very rude. The man that's at the register gives me so much attitude for no reason, its disrespectful and disgusting everytime I come in there he give me a nasty attitude right away. Hey Guadalajara! I've really only come to see you for one thing and one thing only, those monsterous breakfast burritos. They are lip smacking good. They are big, overflowing and admittedly always falls apart because I specifically ask for to replace the meat with pastor or carnitas... but still delicious. The only feedback I would have is that it would be nice if the price of these things were clearly displayed. I never know what I am going to pay since I still don't know all the extra costs I am being charged when you say do you want X, or Y, or Z in your burrito. I realized some are standard, some are charged but you don't mention which is which. I feel bad asking how much each item is... so it's like slot machine where I have no idea what the final price is going to come out. I get it, breakfast burrito isn't your primary item, but even a little sign would help! I haven't had the occasion to grab your baked goods but you've got an incredible selection. I've been a regular customer at this establishment for years, but I've sadly watched both the service and food quality decline significantly over time. Recently, I visited wearing my EMS uniform after ordering over $50 worth of food. I sat inside to eat and study for a bit, then got a soda. When I finished eating and approached the cashier to pay for the soda, he loudly accused me--in front of other customers--of trying to leave without paying for it. I had zero intention of doing so and had gladly paid for my large meal. The experience was embarrassing and completely uncalled for. The food itself was also disappointing. The bread was extremely bland and poor quality, and I was shocked to see flies buzzing inside the bakery bread. The owner was present but said nothing about the incident or the issues. Unfortunately, this once-reliable spot has gone downhill in both service and food standards. I won't be returning and cannot recommend it. read more

All of their pan dulce-Mexican sweet bread is tasty. You can also order burritos, tacos, tortas, menudo on sundays, breakfast burritos, etc., to sit in the restaurant or to go. You will wait at least 10 minutes. Excellent service. It's a market, ice cream shop, food to go, if you wish or sit. The ambiance is quiet and quaint. I mainly get their asada burritos and it's always been a hit or miss. Definitely was a lot different in comparison to the covid era up until now. Bigger burrito doesn't always mean better, but the portion can be appreciated. read more

Went in for a pan dulce, since my son loves his pan, and I decided to buy a breakfast burrito. OMG! so good, I was not expecting such a big burrito. I was craving for conchas and didn't want to drive all the way to Turlock. I looked at yelp and found this little gem. It's a Mexican market and they have their baked goods at the back. I like how they have a little printout sign that has each and every bread they have so you know what you're getting more or less. The breads are fresh. The prices are pretty reasonable. I will definitely go back here again. read more

I visit my 90 year old mother once a month in Merced and Panaderia Guadalajara is my go too place for pan dulce. Huge selection, freshly baked and plentiful. I have my favorites, but hope to try a lot more of the wonderful treats. read more

This is a smaller size store with drinks, all the hispanic needs you could think of. They have bread, foods, herbs, flan, tres leches, jello, etc. i usually go for the bread, it's my favorite. but i haven't eaten there, it's pretty good for the price. i recommend this place to shop and they have everything you could need and they're very friendly and helpful there! read more

I placed order on DoorDash and food arrived timely, hot, and smelled delicious! (Score one right there) :) We ordered chili verde combo comes with rice, beans, and 4 corn tortillas. The combo was really good! Everything was very flavorful and generous portions. We also ordered tamales red and green.... The green ones didn't make it to the pics! Both were good but the green was fire. Masa perfect texture and meat was so flavorful! My pics aren't the best. All that delicious chili verde sauce was spilling out but keep up the good work Panaderia Guadalajara!! Will definitely be ordering again in near future! read more

I love coming here because they have Mexican remedies which is amazing it's hard to find things in merced like this. I can say they sell their Mexican products for ridiculous price almost $25.00 for eye cream that you can get in Mexican for $3.00 it's crazy of how much money they make off people to profit. I love this place for their burritos but I recently bought 5 burritos and all 5 of them had burnt meat and black tar in them like they had reheated old meat to put in there and must of burnt it. Secondly, I asked for salas on the side which I did not receive. The cashier told the manager which was a young lady, and this manager said that the cook said that I was given the sala and she just straight walked to my bakery dessert bag and burrito bag and started feeling the bag to see if it was in there as if I was lying. I am never going back. They just lost a loyal customer. I didn't know my burritos were burnt til I had went home. Don't go to this place unless you want poor customer service and burnt meat. I've been going here for my bread and usually grab a bite to eat as well for as long as I can remember. However , the bread here is so expensive now just for two cakes and two puercitos breads it was $5.48 it use to be less. This is flour and sugar may I add, it's too expensive now. The food prices look like they have been tampered with and the prices for each meal changes every-time I come in the store. I usually go there for my chile verde plate which was usually about $8 before now it's $12 plus tax. The Torta my husband ordered had no beans, no salsa, nothing at all but pastor, lettuce and hella onion for $11 as well. This is the last time i'll be coming here. let alone when I ask for fresh bread the workers mug me. I know it's the "spot" but it's too expensive now and they have become more greedy and less quality like they use to be. Thanks. read more

I recently went in and bought a rosca de reyes for my family and I on January 6 2024 , super excited to share the tradition with my family as it would be my husband's first time . To our surprise we cut the entire thing and no baby's where to be found what's so ever after going thorough every bread slice and finding nothing but disappointment we called the bakery to notify them of what had happened. The staff did not seem to care and said " well the owners are gone we can't make any calls , we'll give them your name and number and they'll reach out next week or come pick up the dolls and place them in there yourself " I politely pointed out that today was the specific day this tradition was done and to be enjoyed with family how was this going to wait until a week to see if they'd give us a replacement on a 30$ bread? She didn't seem to care and just said I can't do anything wait for a call . I followed up the following week and I was told " we gave the owners your information you just have to wait for the call" it's now January 18th and crickets . Not that the call would even make a difference but it's disappointing when not only did there production have a default in it but the lack of communication and care for the customer from management to the staff really shows on basic human interaction you are in the business of customer service clearly you are not servicing your customers correctly and neither is your staff . It's just baffling we spent 30$ on B R E A D for nothing . I love to shop local but honestly I was better off going to Cardenas or any other big chain store I'm sure the staff and manager would have done more . read more

Great service and delicious food from the kitchen. I've both picked up orders at the store and also ordered through Doordash, and they ALWAYS get the orders right, there is never a problem when you deal with Panadería Guadalajara. I recommend the rolled tacos; they are SOOOO YUMMY! and the tacos al pastor are some of the best from Merced to the Bay Area. Selection of Latin brands in the store is really good and you are always treated with respect and kindness. I'm an absolute fan and totally recommend this place of business. Holy Moly, dinner tonight was incredible. We ordered the rolled potato taquitos and rolled chicken taquitos and an order of nachos with mozzarella cheese rather that the orange cheese stuff. Staff was super friendly and quick to take my order, told me it would be a five-ten minute wait. I walked around the store and checked out all the yummy snacks and drink condiments. Lots of ice cream selections and fresh juices. Bread too, if you're into that! Got the food promptly, got home and tore through it. Potato and chicken taquitos were just like grandma used to make. Topped with salsa, cheese, sour cream and lettuce. Nachos were incredible. Half an avocado, sour cream, guac, plenty of mozzarella and Carne asada. Soooo good. The price was unbeatable and the quality was better than expected. Quality customer service for everyone I saw come through. I will be back and I will rave about this place! Small little shop that's hidden and you could possibly pass it without knowing. Typical Mexican Store with bakery and Mexican brand items/candies. They do have a small ice cream parlor and and they sell food. Mangonadas: 4/5 per my brother he liked it. They use iced base basically it's not milk ice cream base. Rolled Chicken Tacos: 4/5 I like these! 3 for 2.75 what a deal!!! They pile a generous amount of shredded lettuce, tomatoes, and sauce. The texture of the chicken I really like! Carne Asada Tacos: 4/5 basic cilantro/diced onion Tacos--flavors are there and tortilla are soft. Overall, small shop with quick snacks to grab. They do have a sitting area to eat as well. read more

I visited this place a few days ago to try out their rolled tacos. I was thinking of trying out their tamales but it seemed like they simply reheat it so I chose to skip them. Nevertheless, the rolled tacos of chicken were okay they definitely did not live up to my expectations or perhaps I had over the top expectations because it's a Mexican Bakery. The tacos seemed slightly too bland in flavor and required some salt or seasoning. The price is alright but I wish it was much better as I am from LA and visiting Merced makes it difficult to find a good place to have good Mexican or Chinese food. However, if you are really in the need of having something Mexican like tamales, tacos or rolled tacos then it is worth the try. Just do not expect anything outstanding. read more
