DONT WASTE YOUR TIME! This Baskin Robbins keeps getting worst every time. That the blenders are down (too hot). They're out of ice scream flavors ALL the time. My family and I wanted shakes and they were down to 5 flavors! How is this possible 31 Flavors?!!! They are out of cinnamon/whoop cream. Always out of something. Employees always have a look as if they hate their job and it shows. Few times I actually am able to get my Cappuccino it sucks! Mostly ice instead of ice scream. I hate to do this because this store has such a special place in my heart, but we had a really disappointing experience last night and think it is important to share with others in case anyone else wants to purchase a cake here for a special occasion. We purchased a birthday cake the other night and asked for chocolate chip but were given mint chip. I called the store and they were very nice at first - let us know we could get a new cake if we brought in the original and a copy of our receipt. When we went in to ask for a different cake, the shift lead Aaron let us know that we could only get partial credit because we cut into the cake already. Keep in mind we had cut a small sliver on the side and were returning the entire cake. We were cutting the cake to celebrate and when we noticed it was the wrong flavor we immediately contacted the store. Apparently they had wrongfully labeled this cake as chocolate chip - how would we have known it was the wrong cake if we had not cut into it? He was extremely disrespectful and yelled at us, saying they would not be able to resell the cake anymore because I had cut into it. It is extremely unsanitary to resell cakes that people have taken home. I let him know of this, then he confessed that the employees could have eaten the cake or taken it home but would not be able to because we cut the cake. Again, we cut it because we planned to eat it. How would we have known it was the wrong flavor if we had not cut it? When I asked to speak to the store manager they told us we would need to wait for forty minutes. It wasn't until 20 minutes of waiting outside that another employee finally offered us a full refund, but not before Aaron tried to give us only a partial refund again instead. Instead of apologizing for their mistake - they made this already strenuous experience more difficult. This was obviously a mistake on behalf of their cake maker and we were absolutely not trying to be difficult with the employees - I apologized profusely to them for the inconvenience but was not issued an apology on their behalf for their mistake. The other employees were very nice but obviously their hands are tied as they needed to follow the lead of their Shift Leader. Aaron was extremely unprofessional and unreasonable - he was begrudging, unsupportive, and unapologetic in the matter. The most logical resolution to something as simple as a mislabeling mistake would be to offer the correct item but we were instead made to feel at fault for their team's mistake. Our entire family and friends were waiting for us on this replacement cake and this entire ordeal took so much longer than we anticipated and honestly longer than it needed to take. We instead went to Cold Stone on Main St and got a new cake - the employees there were extremely hospitable and recommended different cake flavors for our occasion. If you are thinking of purchasing a cake here, make sure they give you the correct flavor immediately before you leave so this doesn't happen again. Double check on the labeling because our cake was incorrectly label. We will not be returning. read more

Ice cream is good but service and the scoops here are just off. Depending on who you get that serves you, the scoop is either worth it or it's disappointing. A single scoop can look like a kids scoop. The servers there seem to be very distracted with one another and there seems to be more interest in one another rather than serving the customer. The only good thing about this place is the location. It's always hot, humid and super loud with the music blasting. The music is so loud that you can't even hear the employees talking to you. Do not buy gift cards for this place. I have gone several times in the last two months to use gift cards my kids got as gifts and have not been able to use a single one. We were visiting Merced as my sister attends college here . This is a new city to us and so we just searched up the closest baskin Robbins and maps sent us to this specific location . Of course Merced is really hot . Which I didn't have a problem w/ but when the guests tasted it, most did not like it, which is very surprising when Baskin Robbin cakes never fails to please anyone. I was very disappointed that they didn't have any waffle cones. I told the girl behind the counter, and she said they stopped making them towards the end of the night because they would have to throw them away. I pointed out that there was a sign for a free waffle cone when you purchase two or more scoops. I just think they should rip down that damn sign when they decide not to make anymore cones. Incompetent people! My mom ordered a polar pizza online 2 days ago to be picked up by 3 pm today. I went to pick it up and they could not find my order for 5 minutes then they told me that they didn't have it (there was no explanation for this). The guy asked what toppings I wanted on the polar pizza and I said I ordered the chocolate peanut butter one and I said whatever comes on that one (he didn't even know) he also asked how many slices I wanted, I said 10 and he was like "uh well they usually come in 8" so why did he even ask?! then they said they would make it in 10 minutes so I came by 15 minutes later and it took another a few minutes of me waiting for them to bring it out with some half ass apology. This whole process took me 25 minutes when my mom ordered the polar pizza 2 days ago for 3 pm and I came at 3:15. These employees need to be seriously trained in customer service! When I finically decided to raise my hand , Evan (the employee) told me "no they (referring to a different couple) were next". im going to keep this one simple.....i hope.. the location is inside the merced "small" which is the merced version of a mall...(visit it and you'll see wut i mean :) there isnt alot of room in the store but if you just want to run in and out ..it is perfect.you can even grab a scoop or two and stroll the "small"..lol but for the most, the service is good and the ice cream is always great!this location even went to the extreme and custom cut a tub in half for us when it was my daughters 3rd birthday and charged us their cost when the location in atwater was extremely rude about it....which i will yelp next;) read more
