I specifically and politely asked for a x-ray free exam per my neurologist. I was asked immediately if I was pregnant. Okay, fair. Then, I could hear loud voices in the hallway saying "oh! no x-ray!? is she knocked up?"... look, I was a college sorority girl but seriously, at my age (40s) that is beyond socially awkward. SCAM! I am reporing this dentist to NJ State Board of Dentistry. You should too! Please go to other places! Agreed with all of you, this is a horrible place to be. I was billed for $3,000 for treatment over 10 min, and the dentist claimed it is a success. She brushed some filling on to the surface of my teeth. I am asking my money back! Other dentist saw the treatment and it was a SCAM! They charge $99 to see my broken temporary crown! Did not put back! I am going to a reputable dentist to do the crowns. I am filing complaints against this malprace to Board of Dentistry. The dentist just want to make money, with no heart nor interest in helping patients. She mis-diagnosed my pain, and scam me into so called treatment plan none of which works until I had a root canal, which should have been diagnosed in the first place and get treated first. Horrible service. I wish I had read the reviews here before I chose it. My teeth had no problem before I went to this dentist, all I need was cleaning every 6 month. After I changed to here, they kept asking me cleaning my teeth more frequently, from every 6 month to every 3 month,twice deep clean in one year. At my last visit, they told me I need to come every month, unbelievable! The result I chose this dentist is that my teeth are very sensitive now, feel hurt every time I eat cold or hard things. Updating to indicate they are still horrible. Watch how many 'visits' you get billed for. They never complete a single treatment in one visit, hence they get to keep billing insurance for those visits. Who stops mid-drilling in a root canal because 'their hand hurts' ?? OMG, if that's the case, you should be a florist or something. Who keeps taking personal calls from daughter... other family... while someone is in the chair? They do, that's WHO! Never would provide dental records to myself OR my new Dentist, even if I were willing to pay. They got themselves in hot water over this one with my provider, Cigna. Rude as HELL. Especially that Mary Rostami. Misdiagnosed everything. My next dentist suggested I go back to them to fix all their screw-ups. No thanks. Would rather eat glass. If I had to see them again... I paid $1400.00 for a crown and it fell off less than 2 weeks later. The dentist actually charged me $99.00 to put it back in, I was shocked. I have several crowns and no reputable dentist would charge you to put back in a crown. This place is all about the money, not patient care. I would advise going elsewhere. read more

Basking Ridge Dental Group is easily the best dental office I have ever been to! Dr. Rostami, Dr. Emami & the rest of their staff actually made me COMFORTABLE throughout my appointment. After the fifth filling fell out I felt as though I should write this review. I came into this dentist for the first time and she said I needed 10 fillings which thankfully were covered by my insurance. After the first filling fell out only a couple days later I called back and asked if she could refill it. She refused to refill it and said she wanted to charge me 500 something dollars for a crown. I didn't think that sounded right so I got a second opinion from another dentist. The second dentist said I absolutely did not need a crown confirming my suspicion that this dentist seemed to want to make money off of me. After months of back and forth with the insurance company trying to have them cover my fillings that fell out I'm now in a situation that they cannot be covered because this dentist technically worked on them already. She was also a bit rough which led to me believe she was messing up my teeth which she did. Be careful of this one. read more

I am quite surprised to read the review below regarding the doctors pushing treatments in order to extort more money. Recently, I visited my old practice and couldn't wait to return to Dr.Rostami. The dentists at my old practice told me that I needed every root canaled tooth crowned, overhangs repaired... even a laser for a fever blister I was having suggested. I never felt this kind of pressure at Dr.Rostami's office. As a matter of fact, I've even had pleasant appointments when I was sent home without "needing" treatment at all. I would absolutely trust these two doctors to provide care for teeth NEEDING treatment and not just suggestions to extort more payment. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. I've been going to basking ridge dental for my whole life, and today I finally went to a new dentist, thank God. 6 months ago I went in to basking ridge dental for a routine checkup and was told after they looked in my mouth with just their eyes that I had "a couple areas of concern" that they would "keep an eye on." Well now thanks to their negligence, my "perfect cavity free teeth" are now loaded with cavities, 7 in total, that are now emergencies. I highly recommend that you stay far away from this place. Luckily I went to another dentist before all of my teeth rotted out of my head. read more

Do not go here! The 2 doctors here , Emami and Rostami, are greedy people. They do not care about your dental health, but "when" and "how much" you can pay. My family and I used to go here and will never again. The first time my wife and I came (and we came on different times) Emami bombarded me with what is wrong with my mouth. Prior to this my old dentist (who retired) had never told me I need "deep cleaning" or I needed crowns on almost all my teeth. She kept pushing Carecredit on me which I adamantly refused. My family and I changed dentist since and was I told I had a cavity, but definitely not severe to warrant a crown. I never write reviews on anything, but I felt the need to do it this one time. read more

I decided to try a new dental practice closer to home since my previous dentist was a bit far from home. Combined with having a young child, this kept me from going to the dentist regularly in the past 3 years. Although I wasn't experiencing any problems when I came for a basic visit, the dentist (I believe it was Dr. Emami) advised me that I would need to see a specialist for a deep cleaning and that I would need 2 crowns and 2 replacement fillings. I was a particularly surprised to hear they would not even give me a basic cleaning, citing that my gums were in such poor shape. I went back to my old practice to seek a second option; they thought her recommendations were aggressive and only agreed with the 2 replacement fillings. In fact, when I switched practices to return my old dentist and got a regular cleaning, the dental hygienist said my mouth looked like I just came out of a cleaning PRIOR to her starting. To be honest, I didn't have a good feeling when I stepped into the place and I should have trusted my gut and walked out. I think they are taking advantage of people. In short, I would not recommend this place to others. read more
