The shop has served the Redding area since 1974! The power of the used bookstore, my friends. Incredible. There need to be more spaces like this--open, welcoming, somewhere to expand your mind. I remember as a kid I was an avid reader,but for some reason I thought comic books were really lame…read morebecause they weren't real books.They were just pictures with a few words and wasn't even close to what I was doing knocking out multiple books in a week. Sometime in my 30s though that all changed.As I got older,I came to appreciate the high quality of the medium,in regards to being able to have such complex stories work with such high quality artwork. So I started collecting comics and became a frequent customer to A-1 Comics in Roseville located on Sunrise Avenue. The top two things I love about this location are as follows. -Their employees really give excellent customer service.They are very helpful in assisting the customers in finding whatever they are looking for. A-1 has two other locations in the Sacramento area and multiple times I've been in Roseville and they were sold out of what I was looking for and they took it upon themselves to call their other locations to check if they had what I wanted-that's excellent customer service. -Second thing that truly stands out for me about A-1 is they aren't cheap on inventory-every week when new releases come out,they always have plenty of copies so that as many customers as possible have a good opportunity to get the issues they want-not all comic shops do this-others keep such limited inventory that they sell out too fast-A-1 rarely lets that happen. This Roseville location pretty much has its own parking lot,so there's always has plenty of parking available for its customers. In closing, I really do recommend this shop for all your comic needs-it's a pretty awesome place filled with pretty awesome employees and I always look forward to heading back out there.
