Don't come in if you are in a big hurry, though, because there is definitely a "mom and pop" kind of vibe that fits in with Batavia's neighborliness. I love the ease of shipping from here. They pack with care and get you in and out fast. They also make sure you are getting the best rate since they use so many shipping services. This Shawn is a real class act. Rented a U-Haul from him with a 1/4 tank of gas, he told me it should be returned with the same amount, but he wouldn't hold me to it. Returned it with 2 gallons under 1/4. Was charged $62 for the gas and a fuel surcharge. I called him and recounted our conversation. I went there to get a passport photo and was told there was a 10 minute wait because the guy who takes the pictures was "cleaning up in the back". After 13 minutes the clerk said "one more minute" when the guy yelled from the back "somewhere between 10 and 100 minutes, I'm doing something that I can't stop". During the 10 minute wait he did have time to come up to the front and complain about a customer. Based on my experience that other customer was probably justified in being disgruntled. read more

We used Batavia Parcel to rent a U-Haul truck for a short local move. When we returned the truck we filled it with gas and the gas gauge was over the full line. When the owner checked the truck in and emailed us a receipt he charged us for 2 additional gallons of gas totaling $11.50! I returned to his business to show him the photo we took upon return of the truck which he would not look at! He rudely told me to call U-Haul if I had a concern. My concern is he is not an honest businessman. I would never do business with Batavia Parcel again and highly recommend when returning the truck you stand there during the checkin process. read more

I think this is only the third one-star review out of over 100, I guarantee it's deserved. Long story short, after dropping in twice to mail things and not having come into contact with Shawn I decided to send a sewing machine through them because it needed extra packing and special attention. Not sure how this possibly could have happened but after waiting 5 days after it was due (mid-December so...) I called and bottom line they sent it to a completely different address in St Louis when it was supposed to go to Texas. Things like this happen, I know. But what should happen is an apology and not blaming FedEx who did what they were supposed to do. Again, I'm not mad that this happened, I get it. We all make mistakes. But OWN your mistake Shawn and apologize for your mistake. Don't make a customer come in 4 days in a row to find out what the status is. You had my phone number, you could have made this right by communicating to me. Shame, shame.... I strongly recommend that you find another shipper for your precious packages! read more

BEWARE! I wanted to share my horrible experience with the owner (Shawn Viland) of the Batavia Parcel Service on Randall Road in Batavia, in regard to their U-Haul services. I rented a 10-foot truck yesterday to move my daughter and returned it with a full tank of gas by the time I was supposed to. This morning I got an extra charge for 2 gallons of gas (at a ridiculous price) because the owner said it was not full. I went there this morning to ask about it and when I arrived he said he already sent in the reading to their corporate office (where they do the billing) on the gas tank and it wasn't full. I told him I drove to the Walmart in Batavia to get gas last night - filled it up and drove a few blocks to his parking lot and dropped off the truck - with a full tank! Since he started arguing with me, I asked if I could see the truck to check it for myself. He reluctantly gave me the keys before he said it was taken out again this morning. Well, I went to the truck and took a picture of the mileage and the gas tank was full! No one had taken it out, the mileage was the same as when I dropped it off. So, when I went in to tell him that he was wrong and that he made a mistake, he would not look at the picture and started to rant about him having 3-4 customers a month that claim they had a similar gas issue, and that he has high blood pressure. Well, he refused to make it right - was yelling and told me to take it up with UHaul - which I did and they refunded my money once I sent them a picture of the full tank with the exact same mileage. This guy is very deceitful and if I had a problem I'm sure others have too. If he had apologized or done something to help, this would be different, but he just yelled, raised his hand at me and walked away yelling. PLEASE BEWARE and do not use them! It's a bummer because they are in my town where I've lived for over 40 years. read more

Shawn was great! He helped us with our Uhaul rental when the Uhaul app was being fussy on my wife's phone. Got the truck immediately, even offered to let us turn it in up to 90 minutes after closing since he'd be around tidying up the business anyway. We arrived 15 minutes after close and he closed out our rental and chatted us up for a few minutes to make sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely use Batavia Parcel again and recommend them to local friends and neighbors anytime we can! read more

They have been extremely helpful whenever I have utilized their services; including as a UPS drop-off/pick-up location, which is extremely convenient. If I could have given this place zero stars I would have. It smelled terribly of cigarette smoke and almost to the level of vomiting. We came in with one simple task which could have easily been accomplished. Yet, somehow we lost over $30 along with hours of effort. For a non-profit organization may I add. One of the employees told us that it was there fault and that they were focusing on the other costumer. There were three employees!!! It only takes one to do a simple task!!! I always try to support the local businesses in our area, But this is one business I will not use again nor will I recommend them to anyone else. I utilized their service to send a Christmas package out of state. I filled out the requested information so the Owner ( I do not have his name ) could enter the information into the Fed Ex portal. He gave me a receipt with a tracking number but it showed no conformation of the information he had entered. . during the whole transaction I was made to feel like I was interrupting something more important to him. I waited the amount estimated of days to ship and then checked on the package. It showed it had delivered several days prior but to the wrong address. Not much Fed Ex will do as they show delivering it to the address in the system. I stopped in at his store it to discuss the issue and see what options I possibly had, I asked if he could produce the form that I filled out so I could make sure who had caused the issue ?? It may have been me writing down the wrong address causing him to enter in the wrong address or his mistake by entering in the wrong address. I just wanted to know so I could figure out what path to take to help resolve the issue. In a very disconcerting manner He told be that they don't keep that information and they don't have the time to look into it and walked away. (they were still open for another two hours ) The girls behind the counter were very apologetic for his gruff and rude approach to me and even offered to look for it after he had gone home I left my number but I never heard anything back that evening or anything up to writing this letter. I guess I have to move on and explain the the person that was suppose to have received the gift that I will purchase new items and have them sent after Christmas . I am very disappointed in the lack of concern and the willingness to assist a customer . Stopped by to support a local business instead of heading straight to FedEx or USPS WHAT A MISTAKE!! I went to Batavia Parcel to purchase a envelope and send back a return. After waiting 10 + mins while the only employee chatted with a women who wasn't actually shipping anything I was greeted by ole man river. I said I would like to purchase this envelope/ bag for my return and If he could print my label? He replied is was $2 charge to print single page WOW! I said it's $2 to print and he responded YES I'm not making money off you just buying and shipping a envelope. I chose to NOT purchase at this time. I wish I could give negative Stars for this location!!!!!! Well where do I begin! I live in Fl, and flew up to move some stuff to a storage unit. The day before I flew up the owner Shawn called me to confirm my reservation for a 17 foot truck. I confirmed it with him and I asked what time they opened up on Sunday and he told me 12 noon. I thought I was all set, well I guess I was WRONG. Before I arrived at the location we got an email stating that Uhaul (not Batavia Parcel) rented my truck that I needed and that all they had was a 15 ft truck. We told him that was not going to work, and that he also had a 26 ft truck coming back by 1 pm. I got to the location, and waited till noon for him to open. I noticed that there was no one at the location. So we emailed him, and he said he was not going to open his store today and there was nothing that he could do to help me. Mind you we flew in from Florida and confirmed this reservation. Through several emails Shawn the owner told us to respect his privacy and that there are plenty other haul dealers to rent from. While I was waiting for him to open the 26ft truck was returned. I tried calling shawn via his cellphone, which he would not answer to help me get this truck. He would not answer the phone and when the other guy returning the 26ft truck tried to call him he got the same no answer. So when he would not help with this I was going to take the 15 foot truck, but another lady showed up and was having issues as well getting in touch with the owner. Come to find out he was giving me her rental and was going to leave her out to dry with nothing. Well, I was not going to do that to her, so I called uhaul and they found me a truck in Aurora on South Lake St. Highly recommend that you do not rent from this guy at Batavia Parcel. He has no care in the world about helping you, and does not open his store when he says he will. Horrible experience, and I hope no one ever goes through this experience like we did.
