Unfortunately, I'm unable to give a positive rating for this company due to a lack of professionalism and communication. I spoke with a young lady about traveling from Portland to Salem to view a vehicle yesterday 1/9/26. She told me visits were by appointment only and scheduled me for Monday, 1/12/26. However, while checking their Facebook page today (1/10/26), I saw that the vehicle had already been sold. I was never contacted or notified of this change. When I called to confirm, I spoke with a gentleman who had no record of my appointment and seemed unaware of the situation. I was extremely disappointed, especially knowing I could have driven all the way from Portland and wasted time and gas for a vehicle that was no longer available. I'm thankful I happened to see the post before making the trip, but this experience shows a serious lack of coordination and customer communication. Back to the drawing board. read more

Bought a mini van from them for my roommate who is disabled. They were amazing. They were honest and kind and went far and above what most people would do. They made it easy and are even helping get the hand controls he needs to drive installed. They will be the first car company I will go to when I need to get wheels. read more

Tom Bates seems to me to be a conscientious car dealer!. I trust him to buy a car from him. He knows his stuff. I asked him a million questions and he was patient and answered all of them. He did forget that the title had not yet arrived so we both wasted a trip to Brooks, but it was an honest mistake. That's why I put 4 stars instead of 5. e just purchased a car at Bates Car Company for my son with very little to spend after our insurance company declared his car totaled from a hit and run. All that to say, the initial car we purchased we had inspected the next morning and there were some issues with it. I immediately got ahold of Tom to talk through it and he allowed us to bring the car back and purchase one we felt safe with. He absolutely didn't have to do this, he went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable with the vehicle and was incredibly kind about the whole situation.
