Several months ago I brought my car in and told them what I needed done to it. The service writer told me I needed to take it to another shop, when I took it to another shop I got told the dealership could've done something to it. When I brought it back I was hopeful because I was told the service writer that helped me before is no longer employed there. However the replacement didn't do much of a better job. They did a horrible job listening to what I needed done to my car and acted like it was my fault. read more

I've just purchased a used vehicle from Armstrong. Am I happy with my purchase - sure. Do I have reservations about the process? Maybe a few but they're more ingrained in the length of time it took to complete the process and my vehement dislike of bureaucratic paperwork. Oh - and salespeople, although my experience with Ed and his genial paperpushing boss was not negative - just...sales-y. Their aim is to sell me a car. Mine is to buy one. All we have to do is to come to agreement on numbers which, I have to admit, they were quite willing to do with my trade-in and the cost of my purchase. Hopefully time will tell whether I'll have any issues with my purchase but, for the moment, I ain't complaining. read more

My husband and I had been looking for a GMC Denali and had zero luck in the Seattle area for what we wanted. We started looking all over the state of Washington, still no luck. We called on one in California..... they wouldn't even consider selling to us since we lived in Washington. As literally a last resort I decided to look in the Portland area and I am so glad we did. We came across the perfect 2023 Denali in our budget with decently low miles and I called the dealership to see if it was still available......and Hannah answered! We cannot say enough about our experience purchasing our new (to us) vehicle at Armstrong Subaru/Chevrolet. First, we were flying down so we could drive back together and Hannah asked if we needed a ride from the airport? Yes, that would be amazing! Their driver Josh, picked us up and drove us an hour to the dealership. What a great young man. Then we met Hannah, and we were so impressed with her kindness, knowledge and professionalism. She made the entire transaction pretty painless! She must have spent 20-30 minutes going over all the features with us and what ever button does. Nick the finance guy was great as well. Very personable and really nice to work with. There motto of treating everyone like family WORKS! I'm sure all their sales people are amazing but, Hannah is an absolute angel. I would give ZERO STARS if I could!!! This dealership completely SCAMMED me! They sold me a car that is not even close to what was advertised. I bought this car with my entire savings account and it's not even usable for a full day. They advertised an electric car on their website and said it got 92-106 mpg. My sister and I went there to test drive this car... and was told multiple times that it gets 100 miles fully charged. We were waiting for the car to charge while signing paperwork. My sister asked why they didn't charge it on the fast charger and we were told that there was already a van parked in that spot so it was being charged on the slower charger. I went ahead with the purchase... because who would assume a Subaru Dealership would scam you. When it was charged enough and paperwork was signed I took the car home. I charged it completely over night and woke up to find that at 100% charged it only was estimating 47 miles. We immediately contacted the dealership to let them know this car isn't getting 100 miles fully charged and that it's not what they said and that I want my money back and cancel the transaction or at very least give me some of my money back since this battery is not what they said and I would need to replace it. After a few hours, I got a call from the sales guy that they would not take this car back and that MY ONLY OPTION IS TO TRADE IN AT TRADE IN VALUE AFTER ONE DAY!!! I drove it for ONE day and it BARELY DROVE 30 MILES and was out!! After that, I contacted a company that specializes in these EV cars and they told me I got completely scammed. The battery in this car would have never lasted 100 at the age of the car. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE. THEY ARE NOT TRUST WORTHY! read more

I changed my 1-star to a 4-star review. See edit below. Took the car in because radio started acting up. This is a known issue with Subaru, and my radio was replaced only 10 months ago because it was faulty. It started by not letting me change stations, then started staying on a station no matter what other station I tried to get. When I went in (in person) to make my appointment, I told the service person EXACTLY what was wrong with the radio and that the problem was intermittent, knowing that an intermittent issue if not resolved can become a permanent issue. I've gone rounds and rounds with the Subaru radio issues. Today was appointment day. Austen the service guy told me the charge would be $130 to reprogram and update the radio software. He did NOT mention a charge of $110 to diagnose the radio -- which I had already done. When I told him he had not mentioned anything about the $110 diagnostic fee, he told me he had (NO, AUSTEN, YOU DID NOT!!) -- essentially calling me a liar. Then he told me the techs need to get paid. Of course I don't believe that people shouldn't get paid.... but your problem paying your tech is NOT my issue. Thanks for that, Austen. Nothing makes a person smile more than being called (silently) a liar by a person happily taking their money. Your failure to inform me is exactly what happened. And you were less than honest about it. Good job. Well done. I admit I raised my voice and expressed my displeasure. Sorry about that. I don't want to be rude, but making me pay almost TWICE WHAT WAS QUOTED ripped my Christmas budget to shreds, and I'm mad as hell that because of this, there will be no Christmas at my house. Bah Humbug. ------------- Edit: After I posted this review I was contacted by Armstrong Subaru and am glad to say that they did refund to me the $110 diagnostic charge. I did make it clear that at no time had I received a written estimate. And from now on I will absolutely insist on a written estimate before I allow anyone to work on my car. read more

Really disappointed in the service I received here. I can't find it in writing anywhere (of course) but feel certain I was told that the car had new tires when I bought it. Have only had the car about a year and was just told the tires are completely shot. I haven't put a bunch of miles on them or anything either. Was also told break pads are shot and rotors need replacing also. And right after buying the car I had low tire pressure and had to take the car in and a bunch of lug nuts were missing and the tire guys told me it was likely because a guy at Armstrong had neglected to tighten them. I called Armstrong and they tried to tell me someone had tried to steal the (worthless) tires and they were dismissive and said it couldn't possibly be one of their guys because their guys don't make mistakes. Giant eye roll. I let that issue go and dealt with it myself at a closer Subaru dealership to where I live but now I'm being told I need tires, break pads and rotors and as a new widow, this is an overwhelming financial burden I was not expecting thanks to dishonesty and carelessness from Armstrong Subaru. The car also came with a broken windshield wiper fluid pump. Seems minor but when all these things begin to add up and you realize it was just laziness and cheapness on the dealership's part, you feel really disrespected and taken advantage of as a consumer. Their person only would respond with . After asking them to not contact me further they again respond with . I'm guessing they aren't the best place for price or quality to buy a vehicle from. 2010 Subaru Forester 2.5 XT Premium: I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome of this repair. I am so thankful to Austin and Will for their patience and commitment. My car had been a recurring problem for two years. Many different professional ASE certified master mechanics at other dealerships had attempted to evaluate and repair this car but it continued to breakdown within a few weeks or months. What my car truly needed to be reliable was someone with one more quality - perseverance. This car had been declared the ghost car and yes I was told to give up even though it has relatively low miles. Finally after exhaustive attempts, tests, and research Will found a loose engine wire. It was located in a hard to see and reach place. Obviously it had been overlooked in the past. Will just couldn't let my car get the best of him. He wouldn't settle until the car was completely safe and sound. Today, I happily drive a resurrected and problem free car.
