Salesman epitomizes the sleaze that customers suspect dealerships promote. Sadly, I bought a used truck from these scum and I do bare the responsibility for falling for their blatant lies and misinformation. The list of issues with this truck is long. Purchased a 2025 Ranger in May 2025 and was promised 3 free oil changes. Bates Ford scheduled my first oil change for the end of August. Since I don't drive the truck much, I canceled the service and was told I can reschedule for a later date. I recently went in for my first oil change and was told I don't have the 3 free oil changes. Buyer beware of sales promises. Their word means nothing, and unfortunately, I thought it was documented, but it wasn't. Won't recommend purchasing a vehicle from them. Worst service experience ever. Made an appt online explaining the problem and that I would be waiting on the vehicle. Get there and the first service worker pretty much says, "We can't just diagnose in a time frame for you to wait." I explain that I don't have a way anywhere, and I'll wait. Get inside and the second service worker also acts like I can't just wait. Even stops another service worker who appears to be on some authority by the way he is dressed. He also appears annoyed at my needing a diagnosis and I'll wait. Finally get to the information sharing and I am told $175 admin fee for working with "outside" warranty companies. Out of 3 different service workers, not a single one was nice. They honestly acted like I was putting them out and wasting their time. This is not a way to do business! I left. read more

We had the best service advisor, Tyler Bates. We had been told by another local Ford dealership that we needed new brakes. We felt like we didn't and took it into Bates Ford. We didn't tell them we had been told our brakes needed replaced, we just asked them to do it. We received a call a few hours later that we didn't need new brakes and asked what we had noticed that made us think we did. They wanted to triple check incase we had experienced something they did not. We explained why and they told us they would never sell us anything we didn't need. They also didn't charge us anything to check out the brakes. Excellent service. TIMELY. Didn't have to leave it there 7-10 days to get it looked at. My wife visited twice during the week about a specific vehicle. She let the salesman know we were coming to purchase and when. We show up to be told that someone "had an appointment" and the car was sold. Then we go through the process of the BS from the sales manager to walk away with a crying 6 year old and upset wife over a few bucks. We were even told basically Mr. Bates bottom line of more important than the customer. Not even a sorry we couldn't make it work from the manager when we left after they blew it. My husband bought a truck from this dealership last year. It has been nothing but headache after headache with this dealership. We have had transmission problems from day one that this dealership refuses to fix. My husband has tried several times to get an oil change at this dealership since they don't make appointments my husband can never get in. The customer service representative at the desk let my husband sit there for over 20 minutes while having a personal conversation without helping my husband. After my husband finally interrupted our conversation this representative told him sorry we're full you'll have to come back or you can leave your truck here over the weekend and will get to it maybe by Monday. Their customer service is lacking, they are disrespectful, and they have no sense of keeping customers. I know it really doesn't matter if we go there or not as this is a local business and people will keep going there. The buying experience was great. Unfortunately, I realized my truck had a brake vibration over the next few days. (This vibration is identified on the NHTSA website)Shame on me for not completing research. Yet, I am pleased with the truck. So, I took it back and ran into the salesman. His reply, as well as the sales manager, after being told of the issue was "didn't you test drive it?" Of course I did. However, I didn't drive it like I own it, or stole it. I was raised better than that. This comment came across negative to say the least. I perceived this as being told it is your problem now. Poor word choice. In the end the sales manager looked at me and said what I wanted to hear, we will take care of you. That is all I wanted to hear a few days after I had purchased the truck. The customer service advisors, upon first exposure, were/are less than stellar and have little understanding of customer service. The younger man became the go to guy. The other threw his hands up in mockery both times I attempted to communicate with him. Another one responded as a stand off quick defense. Which is very concerning as I want to build a lasting business relationship with a non corporate dealership. The quality of the repair seems be correct. And, in the end all was pleasantly worked out. To say least, this business relationship is off to a salvageable bumpy start. I think we are well on our way to continued business. read more

I take my Honda Accord here regularly to get my oil changed. The staff is very friendly and always polite and helpful. The waiting area is very nice, it has free/cheap snacks and drink and has very comfortable seating. I never wait here more than an hour and a half, the service is very quick. I spend around $35 dollars for an oil change which is much cheaper than doing it myself and buying all the parts. Bates is the place to go if you want friendly and speedy service. read more

We had car problems while traveling through the area and went to Bates Ford. At first, it seemed we would need repairs to the tune of $1,000. However, the next day, the service manager contacted us to inform us the repair was not as initially thought and would only cost about $300. They could've easily tacked the actual fix on top of the initial repair estimate for added cost, but were very honest and didn't take advantage of the situation. They also provided us transportation to and from the hotel for the unplanned overnight stay. Overall, excellent job by the service staff here at Bates! Thank you for your help! read more

At first we had no issues with a routine oil change- they were pleasant and completed the work quickly. After a second routine oil change and tire rotation, the engine fan continued turning on in cool weather- the coolant reservoir is completing empty, which should have been checked and refilled at the time of the service. Our other Ford went in for the same service and came back with a leak in the fuel line. Didn't discover the leak until Sunday and needed a rental car for Monday. None of the local rental companies had vehicles available so we had to rent from a company at the airport. When we told Bates, the service dept was not understanding- criticized us for the timing of discovering the leak and the expensive rental, which was not in our control. They did send a tow truck, but did not return the truck nor agree to reimburse for the rental (just $40). When speaking with the service mgr he did not listen to the circumstances and blew us off saying he'd email the general mgr who also was rude, critical, and dismissive. Not at all understanding, apologetic or willing to make things right to retain our business. We have lost confidence in their work/service and will never return. read more

Brought my 2015 F150 in for an oil change, unannounced, no appointment, rainy day. I was immediately greeted and signed in, and directed to the waiting room. Before I could even figure out how I was going to waste the next hour, I was done, and there were people there in front of me. They were courteous to everyone, helped them all with problems and I think each of them said something positive about siting in a service room on a rainy day. These folks really know their job, they are very good at it, but they really enjoy it and that makes a huge difference to everyone. Great job with this staff and facility. read more
