This place seemed like the largest of the businesses in Church 103--once a Lutheran church, now a variety of local businesses. The name is a nod to place--Haven for the sanctuary, and 1890 for the incorporation of Beverly Hills (Beverly's formal name). Their space is gorgeous, with the centerpiece being the glass window on the south wall. They have some lovely things here, and a great variety. I came in near St. Patrick's Day and since it's on the Southside you'd think a Leprechaun threw up in here! Lots of fun seasonal items, but also everyday art, Chicago-themed gear, stationery items, baby toys/clothes/things, household items, and a lot more. Service was friendly. I believe there's parking in the lot, but I also easily found parking on 103rd.

I purchased the items. Ogun's image and his tools. The image she had in the store was broken, a nudge I ignored. She ordered it and had it shipped to me. While waiting, I looked on Amazon to see if they sold his image. They did for half the price I paid. I have also started studying The Orisa. According to what I have learned, I am a child of Esu. I contacted her today and told her what I have learned and why I think she should give me my money back. All she got out of it was the way I was talking to her. She stated that she was learning like me. First of all, I'm texting you. We're not conveying over the phone. Texting is like writing a note to someone. Talking is verbal. Second of all, if you are learning like I am, you should not speak to people with assurance. She said she didn't mean me any harm. Yes, she did. Speaking with assurance and asking me over $200 of something Because she spoke with assurance, that did cause me harm. This is not the place to go for ANY TYPE OF SPIRITUAL ADVICE OR GUIDANCE. Do your research and know for yourself. Save yourself some money. I am REALLY considering take her to court for fraud.

The store also sells other cool home goods like candles and essential oils, all curated from local businesses. The staff there were friendly, knowledgeable, and had a great ability to balance my preferences with their expertise, without making me feel either overruled or unsure of my choices. Hours went by without the flowers being found. I had to call several departments speaking to different people just to locate the flowers myself and then beg a facility receptionist to help. They ended up calling maintenance to drive a cart to take it to the right department which was an entire block away. This flower shop also needs to keep Joann away from new clients. At first, she comes across friendly but that wears off very quickly. She gets extremely rude, sarcastic and impatient. When I called the day before my delivery to confirm the details, she picked up very annoyed and ran me off the phone saying "I have it all down correct now stop calling!" Aside from the terrible customer service, I wouldn't have felt the need to write a negative review if they had just dropped off the flowers where I asked and tried to confirm several times.
