We'll start with being extremely, horribly, terribly unhappy with the customer service of the web team. I ordered candles online and received them, last Saturday, all smashed. While I completely understand the fact that FedEx was culpable in the destruction of my order, THE COMPANY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR SILENCE WHEN I CONTACTED THEM ABOUT IT. Not. One. Word. To me, that shows that they couldn't care less about me and my order as a very, very long time customer (MY FATHER BLESSED THE GROUND AT SOUTH DEERFIELD, IF YOU MUST KNOW--and before anyone reading this states it, I am fully aware that fact really doesn't matter. It gives context as to the longevity of my patronage). I wound up taking my package to this store and was treated with kindness, dignity and lickety split service. Management took one look at my poor box and jumped into high gear for me. I had a replacement candles in a matter of minutes. And while I have my new candles, I have a very, very bad taste in my mouth for the web services team. This treatment...prior to going to the store...is unacceptable. The service I received in the store was absolutely spectacular. Obviously, this is not Mr. Kittredge's Yankee Candle anymore. And yes, I could have gone to the store to make my purchase...if I'd had time. I got the BOGO email on the last day of the promotion, and could not get into the store that day. So...I tried to use the convenience of online sales. Nope, not convenient. I'm saddened with your lack of response.

Phil and Chris were so accommodating and made the process so easy and fun! We were able to bring our own drinks and snacks and decorate the space for ourselves. We were all given instructions for the candle making by Chris and he was so helpful every step of the way during the 90 minute session. We enjoyed smelling all the different oils and were able to mix the scents for our candles all while mingling and having a good time. After making the candles we also had the option to stamp the lids with a mold and I loved it!! The class was so worth it and we all left happy!! This place was a perfect girls night out. I highly recommend this experience for anyone who is looking for something new and exciting to do.

This was our first visit to Newington's Ollie's, and we scored a fantastic deal. I am the Committee Chair for a convention next month, and one of the participation activities for the conventioneers will be assembling kits to donate to a Boston charity for children in need. We are set on the school supply side, but we are still a little short on the socks and underwear side for 50 boys and girls. So, when I saw a "15% off" email from Ollie's, it seemed like a divine sign to make a pilgrimage to the new Ollie's in Newington. And guess what we found? How about 5-packs of boy's underwear marked down to $2.99? BEFORE our 15% discount. Thank you, Lord Ollie. Ollie's was stocked to the gills and very neatly shelved. We bought this eclectic mix of goods: a big bag of Dot's pretzels, five boxes of K Cup coffees, a bottle of shampoo, a jar of pickled zucchini, a jar of salsa, and 20 of the aforementioned underwear 5-packs for just a shocking $88. Ollie's is a fun store to browse around in, and today we made out like bandits.
