Met Bathfitter at a home show in Dutchess County and arranged a consultation at our home. The visit was professional and going over the information we decided to proceed with the purchase. The installer Matt came on time 8am and started working right away. The job was done before 1:30pm and it looks beautiful. No mess afterwards only slight caulking smell which will dissipate soon. We were advised to wait 24 hours to use lucky we have a second bathroom. Overall very happy with the process. read more

Ugh. Where do I start? If I could give negative stars I would. Everything was great at first. The personnel couldn't be any nicer. The sales guy was great at his job. He got me. He even got me to apply to Synchrony Bank. He set up my monthly payments to be at a specific price. Made it affordable. Where do I sign? Day of appt, I got a call from a Bath Fitter associate - the contractor didn't make it to his flight from FL. Ugh. So send some one else. That wasn't an option. The 1st availability for install was the week after. Not acceptable. Miraculously, they got someone to come 2 days later. An inconvenience, but not a biggie. Guy was nice. Did a beautiful install. We were very pleased with the final product at first sight. Per instructions, there was a waiting period to shower - maybe 24hrs. So when it was time, my husband and daughter took a shower. Then me. It was cut shut from poundings on the bathroom door. It is at that point, my husband realized the contractor didn't clamp the rubber collar tightly (Not the correct verbiage.) And for 2.5 showers, water was flooding the basement. Not cool. Luckily my husband was able to correct the problem. There was a lot of water in our storage room. Living with the Bath Fitter shower for a few days, we realized a few things. Most importantly, it's plastic like material. The amount of money this shower is costing us, we expected more. "Seamless walls" aren't really seamless. In some time, the white caulking will lose it's luster and will be discolored. I will spare you from the nightmare I am now dealing with Synchrony Bank. The bank Bath Fitter set me up with. The monthly fee wasn't affordable after all. I was sold a nice bill of goods. read more

Zero Stars actually. The estimator ordered the wrong tub. The installer worked alone for more than 10 hours and the job is unfinished. He broke a gaping hole through the bathroom wall into the bedroom, destroying the wall and trim. There are scrapes from tools on the bathroom ceiling and a very visible gap between the tub and floor. We have called several personnel from the estimator to the service repair department continuously for 2 weeks, and never have they called back with a repair date or a resolution to these issues. The warranty is a fraud if you can't even get assistance for the original job that is a huge disaster. Justin DeChantal, you can't possibly be running your business with such incompetence. Not going to lie, after reading numerous reviews on Google, Yelp and BBB we were very skeptical about using Bath Fitter for our bath to shower conversion. To be honest, their price was considerably less that other well know bath contractors. But, sometimes price doesn't dictate quality and while you could spend much more, we definitely got our money's worth from Bath Fitter Albany. After reading reviews we noticed the good reviews mostly had one thing in common, that was Matt was their Installer. So we requested Matt. We decided to add acrylic walls to our bathroom because the tile walls were badly damaged and we didn't want to gut. Dom showed up at 8:30am and was extremely neat in ur smaller sized bathroom. The cuts were very difficult that he had to make in order to make this project a success. Matt and Dominick were great installers and the product is good. However, the office staff, salesman and whoever orders the product, leave A Lot to be desired. What started out to be an end of May install, was finished July 3rd. They ordered wrong size shower base and then the doors were back ordered. They would give us a date, say all was in stock and then the night before would cancel saying some part didn't come in. I even drove to the showroom one day because I could not get anyone to return a phone call. read more

Absolutely terrible. They broke our wall (drywall) upon installation, said there's nothing they can do about that... it happens. The shelf they installed fell down, it took many phone calls, emailing pictures, waiting weeks for them to decide it's under warranty then finally get an appointment to get it repaired. They didn't show up for the first appointment, after three calls, my wife was finally told the incompetent who was supposed to come messed up his schedule. We were rescheduled the next day. Here it is the next day, no one showed, no one called. We call in to customer service twice before some one finally calls us back. Now we're rescheduled again. No faith they will show. I like the quality of the material and the installation. I had the occasion to need post installation assistance. I was looking to have a shelf installed near the shower head IN FRONT of me while I'm showering. The workers who installed it put it in the corner BEHIND me without even asking where I wanted it. I am DISABLED and this is THE WORST possible spot for this shelf. Long story short, Bathfitter wants $250 to come and install this little shelf in the shower. I had the MISFORTUNE of speaking with their MANAGER whose name is KAREN. I found her to be EXTREMELY RUDE and not customer-service oriented AT ALL. Unfortunately I have more to share, at 6:30pm on 7/12/2024 my daughter visiting from out of town took a bath, then shortly after I was notified at work by my downstairs neighbor that water was coming through her kitchen ceiling and her spare bathroom ceiling. I immediately called bath fitters and the following morning BF sent someone out to assess the leaking. In addition to calling BF I had to call HOA , my insurance company and quick responders for the water damage. The ceilings in my neighbor's condo had to be cut out, my garage wall had to be cut out, and my 2nd BR vanity had to have back panel and wall cut out for the repair from the water damage from leak. So from 7/13 - 7/17 equipment to dry out the walls was used in both condos, each day quick responders were in contact and on site to do moisture readings to make sure the walls and ceilings were drying out . BF plumber on site 7/13 only and these were his last words to me: "I believe I found the source of the leak and there were 2. I believe I repaired them but I'm not feeling too comfortable , we probably will have to replace your whole tub unit. Let me write up the report and I will get back in touch with you, in the meantime do not take bath but you can gently use the shower" ??? Let the responders dry out the walls". 7/17 the service coordinator called me to state that she would like to set up appointment to have someone come out to restore patch up walls and paint ? I informed the service coordinator about the conversation I had with the plumber and his instructions to me about not using my BR tub and that a replacement may be needed. The service coordinator then states let me reach out to the plumber and see what's going on I will call you back by the end of the day. Now this person wants to send folks in to repair walls without knowing for sure if the leak was repaired. The end of the day came and went without any follow up communication from BF. Side note. This is where I'm confused, my bathroom where the leak was coming from where the tub was replaced by BF remains physically intact you wouldn't even know there is a problem with it, the plumber when he came out just took off the metal plate covering the valve and caulked something then replaced the plate ? Don't get me wrong the plumber was very professional and appeared to be very competent and vested into fixing the problem as he kept running up/down and back/ forth between the 2 condos trying to troubleshoot the issue. In my 2nd bathroom is where the plumber had to cut through the wall of the vanity so he could see what he needed to see. I'm outraged annoyed and frustrated that there has not been any further communication from anyone from BF since 7/17 ! I called the service coordinator 7/22/2024 no one answered the phone the voice mail didn't even come on so that I could leave a message ? This has been a major inconvenience and very troubling causing me increased anxiety and frustration I trusted and payed this company $7,000.00 to have my BR tub replaced and this is the outcome . You cannot treat people like this ! So right now my BR tub/shower is NOT in use until this problem is fixed properly. read more

We just had our bathtub upgraded by Andrew of Bath Fitter, and I am very pleased with the result. The tub area looks brand new, and with the replacement of the old dual faucet system, much more functional! Andrew did a great job, and though he was very busy for the 6-7 hours that the job took, always stopped to answer my questions or give me an update on how the project was going. The finished project looks great, and the work area was cleaned up nicely. Would definitely recommend Bath Fitter, and would ask for Andrew again once we decide to upgrade our master bath! read more

From the initial visit and estimate to job completion, it was a wonderful experience and improvement. They are extremely professional and make you feel very comfortable. They have lots of options to choose from and I cannot think of a process that is so easy, yet gives you the most bang fot the buck. We recently did some minor upgrading in our bathroom - so many hard choices and having to coordinate with the contractor, designer, etc. With Bathfitter, it was a process that takes some of the intimidation and confusion out of a home improvement project. They showed up (for both the estimate and the installation) exactly on time. The installation took a third less of the estimated time. Horrable, Just Horrible. Litterally everything that coukd have gone wrong Did. From not ordering the correct base and shower doors (the doors wrong twice) to leaving us without a showerdoor for four months. I gave very specific dimentions for the shower seats that I wanted built and the First of many installers completely disregarded them and built what HE wanted. When they were "Done"....the shower pipe that comes out of the wall was very loose and they "fixed" it by wrapping tape around it to take up the space.....it didn't work well at all. They calked the shower seats with the wrong color calk after they had to fix the seats again because they didn't have a pitch on it so after a shower there was an inch of water sitting on the seat. They absolutely NEVER answer the phone and rarely call you back without 6-7 messages on the subject that your calling about. Appointments were made that were not kept (no Show) and the people who I did finally get to talk to were as rude as a person can be without using curse words. Speaking to me using the word Sir....but a "hard" Sir, if you know what I mean .....a very disrespectful/angry Sir. From the date the Inept salesperson took my deposit to the day it was finally finnished was over 10 months. 10 months of aggravation, frustration and dissapointment. Each time there was a problem.... and there were many... I had to wait two or more months for them to come back to fix it. Everyones had a bad contractor experience but this one was seriously next level. Honestly, I'd sooner bath in the stream that runs through my property than hire them again for anything. If your thinking about using them, I urge you to reconsider using them unless you have a year to be spoken to very disrespectfully and be very very unhappy. P.S. Let see if anyone from the company responds to this Review. Also, I strongly suspect that a good portion of the Five Star reviews are bogus....friends and family of the business. It took 4 months and 4 different visits for our bathtub liner to be installed. No technician arrived at the time arranged. It was very difficult to reach the company by phone, as the voice mailboxes were usually full. I sent a letter requesting a discount due to poor service, which was ignored. I am reviewing my bathfitter experience in Prince Edward Island. I was sold at tub and wall liner and made my deposit. I was scheduled an install date and then rescheduled. When they arrived the tub didn't fit. Another date was arranged and rescheduled to try samples tubs. After that another installation dated was given and rescheduled 3 more times! It's been 15 weeks since I made my deposit and after talking to their manager Ryan I was assured he would personally look after my file until it was complete and he said he would call me back about adding a discount. He never did. When I called him to talk about it the day before the install he was too busy to talk me but had a staff member call to tell me he would give me $250 off at 6k installation. that's not even half a percent! I wrote him any email telling him that was unacceptable. He never responded. I absolutely without a doubt would never recommend bath fitters to anyone. Hands down, a terribly experience. They also put a hole in our wall during install and took zero responsibility. So now I have to fix that on top of everything. Hire anyone else, but not bath fitters. read more

Im a busy single mom that was stressing over being out of a shower and sink while my renovations were taking place so it was imperative that I have my old shower removed and the new one installed in the same day. Not only did I want my shower flawless but I also didn't want a mess left behind to clean up after installment or my new floors or sinks affected. I live on a slab and needed to have a Porcelain-Enameled Cast Iron tub removed due to a leak in the drainpipe that could only be repaired by removing the tub. After having two other companies come to do the project and then bail on it, Bath Fitter was a dream. They got us on the schedule and now I have a gorgeous new bath and a fixed drain! Matt C. did a great job and was professional and courteous. He definitely knows what he's doing! After the install, I had standing water in the tub anytime the water ran. Matt came back to check on the issue, which he suspected was further down the drainpipe. He was correct and after having another company come to snake the drain the standing water issue is gone. My only suggestion would be that when Bath Fitter is working with old homes on slabs maybe suggest snaking of drains be done prior to installation or even just having older pipes checked as part of the installation process. If the drain issue had not just been a basic clog I would have had a much larger problem that would have involved ripping the tub out again. read more

I am doing an update to my last review. Melissa from the corporate office called us back within the time period that she said she would. She addressed our main concern which was that our money should be refunded to us within 24-48 hours. She said she spoke to the franchise owner and Erin regarding what happened. She also said that BathFitters would be willing to do the tub install if we still wanted the work done. But after weeks of time wasted and horrible customer service I'd rather spend $1900.00 with another company. Lastly, as I mentioned to Melissa today after I did my Yelp review this company, which hasn't had reviews since 2016 on the same day within an hour of my review had 2 new positive reviews mentioning Erin. I find that more than coincidental. In my opinion (allegedly) asking people you know or former customers to give you positive reviews is against Yelp review guidelines and a deceptive business practice. She refuses to hear that her customer service rep misquoted me because saying that everyone makes mistakes and that I was getting a discount which should have been over to begin with. She is rude and did not want to hear me out, and insisted that her representative was 100 per cent correct and refused to do anything about the misquotes. I'm confused. Bath fitters of Albany renovated our bathroom shower last March. We were are generally pleased with the work but developed some issues with the caulking that were certainly fixable. The first appointment for repair no one showed up or called. The company called later that night and rescheduled. Another appointment had to be made about another caulking issue. No one showed up or called again. I had to reschedule again. When the repairman responded subsequently, the repair pulled apart within hours. Another appointment was scheduled for last Saturday between 3 and 5pm. I called Friday to make sure they would be there and was assured I was on the schedule. You guessed it...no one called or showed up. This is the fourth time (including the initial salesperson) who have stood us up without even a call, on appointments to our great inconvenience. I have treated everyone with great patience at this company, but my patience has run out. I'll try as best I can to fix the problem myself rather than risk wasting another day waiting in vain. read more

Bad bad customer service for sure. Erin is the worst. She is rude, nasty and unreasonable. My job has taken 2 months because of errors in ordering and when correct tub came in they sent an installer with little experience who cracked tile and didn't install correctly. It also had a defect. They came 4th time and redid tub but to repair the broken tile they went over the walls and I have a very thick edge outside tub area which is not what I want and I do not like it. Asking for a quote produces an onslaught of phone calls from multiple sales people, no way to approve and send contracts over email, and a field rep who doesn't work out of an office.....the installer showed up and demanded the FINAL payment BEFORE the work was done. I would have thrown him out, but unfortunately, I was out of town and my tenant was handling it. Fortunately, she was able to reach me via my cell phone and we were able to give the cretin installer a credit card so he could do the work we were CONTRACTED for. This company is horrible! Do not purchase from this company. I purchased a shower from bath fitter in 2003. It comes with a lifetime warranty. Within the first day of use it started to leak. We called bath fitter and they came out and "fixed" it. About a month ago the shower started leaking again from the same spot in my down stairs ceiling. This time we took the top of the drain off to see if we could see the leak . I couldn't believe my eyes! Bath Fitter had misalign the drain on purpose, off set the drain, cut the bottom of my shower and filled the holes that were made with caulk and there is NOTHING under the shower supporting the bottom. Now the leak has caused damage to my down stairs ceiling and my floors. I am no professional at plumbing, but we all know over time caulk washes away. Not only did it wash away, it has caused more damage because there is NO support under the tub! So, we called bath fitters and talked to Erin, one of the managers. At first Erin said it wasn't under warranty. Which we know it is because it has a LIFETIME warranty! Then Erin said she could send someone out and to LOOK at it, but it would cost $250.00 and $850.00 to replace the bottom. After talking it over Erin agreed to have someone come out and look at it for free and said she would get back to me in the next 2 days, because Bolton is a long drive for their contractors. Well, Erin didn't get back to me. I had to call her back. Guess what.... Erin was on vacation and I left a message. Glen Campbell then called me back and wasn't happy no one had gotten back to me. Then Erin called me after Glen did. Erin said that I should just re-caulk the shower and it will be fine and that any cracks or holes were caused by the cleaner I use. I told Erin I only use vinegar and water. I also told Erin that she had agreed to have someone come out for free to look at it, Erin's response, "I miss spoke" it will cost you $250.00 to have someone come out and caulk it and if that didn't work we had to replace it," even though she just insisted that if I caulked it, it would work. I asked to speak with the contractor and she said, "we don't speak with out contractors". I then asked to speak to the owner and Erin said, "the owner doesn't speak to customer's".
