In town for my daughter graduation from LSU. She is super amazing and I would travel to the end of the earth, planets,space even the moon to support her. We booked 2 rooms as Marriott members months in advance. We arrived to a clean cool nicely decorated room. I wish I took a picture of the view but it okay truly nothing remarkable about it. Highway view on the 14th floor. Yup over looking the murky pool and stores in the area. The front desk hospitality I appreciated as we were welcomed and allowed to check in early. The restaurant offers menu and buffet breakfast. Servers were pleasent and keep the coffee flowing. Mostly we opened to eat in town, because THIS IS LOUSIANA!! I would love to return with more time and stay closer to the downtown area as it offers so much more. Traffic is horrific using the GPS. yes Horrific traffic in the University area. The hotel is comfortable, staff at check im were attentive and friendly. The restaurant had hot breakfast buffett as well as menu to order from. Drinks at the bar were tasty amd professionally made. This is one of the nicer hotels in BR. I would rank it on the same level as the Renaissance. While I do not travel to BR overnight as much as I once did, I have stayed in many different hotels in the Capital City. The Marriott happened to be convenient when I was in town for my work Christmas Party. I have passe this hotel hundreds of times and the reviews always made me stay elsewhere. But damn the reviews were wrong. This is a nice hotel. I stayed on the club level. The rooms here appear larger and have a wall of windows. The view of the interstate from this high up was pretty great if you like that sort of thing. I do, and the road noise was minimal because the room was so high up. The bar is fully stocked but expect hotel bar prices. You will spend a fortune if you drink here for a while but it was a great meeting place for our group. There is no lounge access on weekends but you will get a free voucher for breakfast. At $31.99, that voucher is much appreciated. If you don't have the voucher, I would skip breakfast. It is good but Louie's isn't that far and is far superior. If you are staying in BR, consider this hotel. It is nice. read more

Even with a hotel reservation, you must pay a Parking fee of $11.60 per night (not valet, just self-parking). It's just a regular azz parking lot. So - you pay for your room and have to pay separately on your phone in the parking lot. You have to manually enter your tag number and all your credit card credentials. If I had know this, I would have chosen a different hotel. read more

Hotel is nice, service is very nice. Rooms are spacious but poorly lit. No light by the full length mirror. You can check your outfit but not use it for make up when the bathroom is steamed up or in use by someone else. Entrance area can light doesn't reach to that part of the room. There were 3 of us so this was really annoying. The rooms have dark paneling, dark art and dark paint/wall coverings. So no light from the lamps bounces around. There is space for luggage for 3 people when you use the floor. But there's no light to see what's in those bags. There's also some night light lighting under the artwork overtop of the beds. It cannot be turned off so if you need a dark room to sleep bring an eye mask. Seems counter to the rest of the darkness of the room and black out shades. read more

This was a very nice hotel! I stayed here when I took my son on a tour of LSU. It was close to campus. Our room was nice. I was a little irritated when I checked in. The front desk attendant was on the phone for at least ten minutes without even acknowledging us. I thought it kind of rude. Also, there was a fire drill in the wee hours of the morning. We stayed in the 16th floor and had to walk down and walk all the way back up!! Some workers painting the elevators set off the alarm. I was so irritated and tired on the 9am tour! read more

My wife stayed at this hotel from 4/9/25 - 4/11/25. We have Ambassadors Elite Status. She was there with her mother. Her mother is very sick and needed all the attention my wife could give her. Upon checking out, my wife was struggling with her mother and all eyes and attention was on her. We live in Flower Mound, Texas. My wife notice she did not have her wedding ring about halfway home on the freeway. She call the hotel immediately. She talk to a housekeeper supervisor name, Virginia and one of the hotel managers. They told her the ring was not there. My wife had this ring coming up on 26 years , June 2025. My son gave my wife a nice bracelet that he made for Christmas, that was stolen also. Cannot put a value on that. The Wedding Ring and Wedding Band cost over $34,000.00. Police Report has been made. Do I expect to got this ring back? No, I do not. When you leave property behind in a hotel, and house keeper take it and not return it to owner, that's called "Felony Theft" in Louisiana, not lost. Up to 20 years in jail. Great hotel! Well-maintained, clean, modern and spacious rooms, nice hotel bar/restaurant, and in a convenient area to get around Baton Rouge. My only complaint, which they can't really change is the road noise from I10. Some may find the sound of continuous cars driving by as relaxing, but it's fairly noisy. I don't really mind it, but if your TV is off and you're trying to go to sleep, you will 100% hear the cars.. quite a few loud 18-wheelers too up and down I10. read more

It's 5 minute drive from a whole foods and some good retail along with a Flemming's steakhouse and some good boutique BBQ. In house restaurant ain't half bad either and couple with fairly comfortable beds this is a great value, especially compared to many of the other places in close proximity that are in of an update. read more

Marriott mediocre. Their reputation is a business-grade, semi-luxury hotel that's reliable, efficient and looks nice. The problem is that they, including the Baton Rouge Marriott, are spartan in their rooms and services. The room looked nice, and was fairly large, following a complete renovation a couple of years ago, but was extremely poorly lit. The lights were mostly small LEDs either illuminating tiny places (bedside, part of the desktop) or cute but useless hidden accents under a counter and behind the headboard. The room itself was very dark after the sun went down. If one drops something on the floor or wants to read something at night (even the labels on the TV remote), the choice is either to bring it to one of the little LED lamps or use a flashlight (e.g., to find a dark button dropped onto the floor). Furnishings were very Spartan as well. One dated chair (not even a desk chair) and a mismatched table that stood alone in the middle of the floor. The other furnishings were built-ins (except for a couch), but with flimsy lamps and shades that could be cheaply replaced when they broke, not substantial fixtures. The "modern" look had plugs and USB outlets, but the switches for the inadequate lights were tiny and sometimes so hard to find that we had to call the front desk to turn off one of the useless accent lights that simply made the wall behind the headboard glow a little. Noise from the freeway was substantial. The pillows were standard small puffs. The AC was fine and quiet. Staff were very nice with one exception (below). The bath was sufficient, with a very nice shower (only one sink, for a hefty room price). Breakfast was both Spartan and expensive. We expected routine hotel breakfast for a 20+ floor, almost full facility, but as we approached on Sunday morning, a girl at the register brusquely told us it was buffet only, no menu service, no exceptions, $15 each plus tax. This was no fancy Sunday brunch buffet; it was very limited, with far less variety than a free Hampton Inn or similar smaller hotel. The food was self-serve, from food-warmers. We were there for three nights, August 4-7, 2022. We won't be back unless there no other place to stay near our grandkids. read more

Very nice hotel with lots of amenities. All of the staff are super friendly and accommodating. I had a king room on floor 18 (concierge level). Laminate floors, walk in showers a d excellent views. The food selection in the bar was not significant with only a small numbers of selections. The food was pretty good and the variety of drafts were good as well. The flatbreads and the boudin balls are worth a try. The only issue I had was that they were sold out for my last night so I had to change properties. Give this a try for sure. read more

Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite For Life. This hotel should be stripped of its Marriott brand flag and continue as a Days Inn. Not Marriott quality by any stretch of the imagination. Rude front desk personnel. Literally the worst Marriott experience in nearly 40 years of loyalty to the brand. Would not stay here on a bet. A pox upon its house. Biteth me general manager. Hotel is okay not too impressive. Don't expect much like if you need towels and call for it, it will never come. Only way you get new towels and toliet paper is if housekeeping cleans your room. When we come into Baton Rouge, this is our hotel of choice until recently. Now, because of the lack of response and unwillingness to help via the front office and reservations, we will be taking our business and our teams business elsewhere. We needed to cancel due to an injury and no longer playing, but they were unwilling to help and cancel our reservation. I must say I was hesitant about staying in a hotel especially with the covid pandemic but I was thoroughly impressed by the cleanliness of this hotel. I feel like every time I went into the lobby there was someone wiping down, mopping, vacuuming and cleaning. I must commend the EVS department for staying on top of all the cleaning. They have placed hand sanitizers in all elevators and at various places throughout the hotel. I loved that the rooms have no traces of carpet so the floors can be mopped and cleaned. Can all hotels get on board and do this? Carpet is so disgusting!!! While I am on this topic, if you need your room cleaned and beds made you have to call housekeeping. Due to covid they no longer just enter rooms unless you call to ask for this service. If you are an Elite Bonvoy member you receive coupons for breakfast for two, otherwise you have to pay for breakfast. The prices of breakfast doesn't break the bank though. The most expensive breakfast was $15 and that was for a continental breakfast which could easily be split between two people. The area that the hotel is in is directly off the interstate. You have views of the I-10, Mississippi River Bridge, LSU Tiger Stadium, the State Capitol Building and Exxon Mobil plant. I felt safe even when coming in at night. The parking lot is well lit, no bushes for anyone to hide behind, and key card access only to enter through the side doors. I enjoyed my stay and this will be my go to hotel when I am staying in Baton Rouge. read more

I've been here several times and this time was awful! When I arrived (female by herself- at night) my door was cracked open. When I told the front desk they brushed it off as housekeeping did it. Okay that's understandable, but offer a new room or to walk me up! When I got in the TV was on, now I know why because the remote was missing. Also the cleanliness was 4/10. When I went on a search for the remote I realized how dirty underneath (open concept) bed was and it gave me the creeps. It is creaky and old and rickety, yet it is a Marriott and it gets the job done! Given that I stay here for work, which means I only get to spend the few hours I sleep here, it isn't that bad really. Once in a while I will order room service, which I think has been decent. The food is fresh and the chef will customize to suits your needs. Once in a while I will also manage to spend time having breakfast at the lounge, which again is not super fancy, but is fresh and quick. Marlene at the Lounge in the evenings is really nice, and very helpful with late night silverware, bottled water or snack needs that my body seems to generate pretty often..lol! Oh, the people at the help desk smile a LOT, but are super duper ineffective all the time! Like this woman this time i checked in - kept smiling and laughing while telling me she couldn't put me on the conceirage level for my stay, since they did not have anything for 3 consecutive nights.. you are kidding me, right??! Then she goes on in this super confidential voice - next time, just call ahead and we will have the room blocked for you.. WHAT? What on earth does a reservation made a week in advance mean.. Swahilli?! Serious BS I say..! Did you notice I have status with you, as stated by my Marriott Rewards number ON my reservation?! UGH.. There goes another star! I heard the place underwent a recent management change, I do NOT see a lot of change in the place at all though. My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights for the 2nd time. I love this hotel. The rooms and common areas are always clean, the beds are comfortable, and I love the shower! The hardwood floors is much better than carpet. I was able to utilize the pool this time which is good size. There is not a microwave in the room but there is a microwave in hotel store area. It's in walking distance to Krabqueenz and a short drive to a main trip with plenty of restaurants. Will always be my first choice in Baton Rouge. read more

We stayed here on our way through Baton Rouge. The employees were rude and the front desk was unable to assist. Someone down the hall from us needed extra pillows, but the staff knocked on our door several times at 11:30PM and then -very loudly- cussed us when we didn't answer because we were consoling our infant that had been woken up by the very loud knocking. The door of the shower would not stay closed and left a LARGE puddle of water on the bathroom floor with every shower. We left a couple of items in the room and the person we finally got in contact with the next day basically said they had probably been thrown away. But it took 2 phone calls, 20 minutes waiting on hold and being told they couldn't transfer us to the person in charge of the lost and found. read more

Stayed here for a week in February, 2012 and I really enjoyed my time here. The staff were fabulous and friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. I didn't have any trouble at all with the quality of the bed or an over-abundance of noise from either outside traffic or other guests. Luckily, I had a room with access to the Concierge Lounge, and that was a huge help to me as this trip was all business. WiFi in the room was a decent connection, but sometimes you just don't want to be sitting in the room when you have to work. The Lounge gave me a chance to work without feeling pent up, and there were snacks! Yay! If there was one thing that bugged me during my stay, it would be that housekeeping would actually replace my open bathroom amenities every day. Seems like a waste. (I'm sure some folks like that, but I'm more of a 'let me use it all up' kinda gal) I would definitely stay here again if I had to be here for business for less than a week. If you haven't heard the news, the Baton Rouge Marriott just underwent a massive renovation and its s beauty! The property itself is a staple in Baton Rouge and it has changed ownership many times over the years. As an event planner I've held conferences and workshops here at this hotel many times in the past, both when it was a Hilton and when it changed to a Marriott. I used to think it was in such a prime location and that it was a shame it was so outdated and in need of general repair. Well Marriott must have listened because they threw lots of money and lots of talented interior designers on the project and they transformed the place. I just attended their grand opening event and was blown away! The sleeping rooms have a sleek and modern look. The meeting rooms and public spaces are bright and airy. I even noticed how all the seating outside the meeting rooms have plenty of outlets available for charging up all of our electronic devices! (As a meeting planner I know that something might people are always looking for). The outdoor pool area has also been completely renovated and looks like a perfect place to throw a summertime party. You can tell a lot of thought and care went into the renovations and that they have taken customer comments into account as well. I have already booked two events for 2018 and look forward to bringing my groups there with pride. Baton Rouge Doesn't have a lot of high-rise hotels so I'm glad this primely located property received its much needed upgrade! read more

I will start off by admitting that I am biased towards Marriott properties. Marriott as a whole has treated me very well and I have given them many nights of my life over the years. This property was recently renovated. The actual rooms have been modernized. There are pretty much USB ports on every wall so you have options for charging your devices. The rooms also have wood floors, which to me, is more sanitary. Things can lurk in rugs for years. The beds / pillows / chairs / sofas are all comfortable and the shower looks cool. The concierge lounge has some pretty decent hours. You're able to grab breakfast, evening snacks, and dessert. The lounge is located on the 20th floor and is accessible via key-card for the elevator and lounge itself. My main gripe with the place is the road noise. I know it's difficult to drown out, but you can easily be awoken by a siren. Other than that, love the place. read more

My time spent at the Marriott Baton Rouge was enjoyable. As it's not the most incredible Marriott I've ever stayed at, there's really nothing negative to say about it. This was my first time in Baton Rouge, and I was pleased to be warmly welcomed upon my arrival. I was welcomed Derrick and Ike and thanked for my status. I was upgraded to one of the higher floors and bigger rooms. The room itself was fine and I had a nice view of the city/highway. They had a concierge lounge that was open for breakfast and again for hors d'oeuvres in the evening. Make sure you have your voucher available in the morning for breakfast, because the lady up there can be kind of rude about it. The location of the hotel, itself is nearby a few things but not really central to the downtown area. I walked over to Mansurs on the Boulevard which is a fine dining restaurant within walking distance, there's also a few other restaurants and steak houses as well as fast food options within walking, but that is about it. There is a restaurant right next to the lobby, but there is nothing for grab and go coffee/no Starbucks. Just a small gift shop. There is a 24 hour Fitness Center that was clean and fairly large for a hotel. Overall, if ever in the area I would definitely consider this Marriott and stay here again. Shout out to Derrick, Kristen, & Ike who were going above and beyond to accommodate my needs as well as offer me food and shopping recommendations. I also set up an airport ride by calling the front desk ahead of time for the day that I left & also set up a wake up call that never actually went off, thank goodness I also used my phone. FYI to those guests who may be relying on that-I would recommend not relying on that in case it doesn't happen for you as well. read more

Check it was easy. The staff were friendly, wearing masks and had a plexiglass partition on the counter. The bar was open, but we didn't go over there. Room was very spacious, clean and accommodating. Most of the USB ports in the room didn't work, for charging devices. The shower was excellent. Very large, overhead water as well as a handheld option and even a built in wall seat. One thing I'd note is there is a significant amount of interstate noise. For the price of your hotel all it had going for it was excellent but overwhelmed staff. They cheaped out on every single service that makes the hotel "special". Also I didn't catch that or room rate hadn't been adjusted for the convention pricing until after I paid, wouldn't bother me near as much if the stay wasn't a total disaster. 1. When we checked in we noticed the whole hotel was hot and stuffy. Numerous guests were complaining ( it was not hot outside). We noticed it getting worse as we made it up to the 14th floor. My son and I already have triggered asthma and both of us were coughing by the time we got to our room and cranked on the fan. That should have been a clue RIGHT THERE to demand a refund and leave. We are triggered by mold mainly. 2. It was about 8 pm when my son and I checked in. We were starving and were told the restaurant was open. When we got there a few groups and I were basically ignored and ended up asking other seated guests how things work. I had to literally round up and employee to get a menu and when we got our food our check was simultaneously dropped off at another table. They passed it over to us by asking people around them whose it was, and when we left 20 minutes later to go out for food elsewhere( our food tasted like it has been microwaved in plastic containers) that table was still trying to find anyone to get their check. Next morning we found out the breakfast menus were hidden because the hotel was "too busy". Fine. Then offer a free or discounted meal option, not have the AUDACITY to charge what you do for breakfast that is of poorer quality then a McDonalds. Didn't make that mistake the next 2 days. 3. We were told on check-in there was no housecleaning available unless requested. Fine. We were given 2 towels in the room so we requested clean towels the next day and ....crickets. Requested it the next day....crickets. Finally saw a housecleaners cart in the hallway and just took a few towels and a roll of toilet paper since I feared the same thing happening with that. More on that later. 4. Something is seriously wrong with your air filters/ HVAC system. As I mentioned my son and I have triggered asthma. Through our first night we both ended up gasping for air. We had to take steroid pills to breathe the next morning. We went out and about from the hotel. Asthma started to clear up. Next night, same thing but worse. I almost had to pull my son from his karate nationals because both of us were struggling to breathe. The tournament opened all the doors ( because the conference rooms were in the high 80's and people were feeling sick competing) and we cleared up a bit. We ( and every other guest) noticed FINALLY they had turned on the air on the floors. We checked out as early as possible on our departure day. I was livid and trying to not explode on your front desk staff who are the saving grace of that hotel and I guarantee whatever you are paying them is not NEARLY ENOUGH to deal with the bullshit your cheap policies were causing guests to dump on them. 5. Back to housecleaning/ room service. I asked 2 times the first night for extra pillows for my son so he could sit up higher to sleep ( hard to sleep flat with asthma ). Never came. Asked 2 times the second day, even went downstairs. Never came. I ended up putting my son propped up on the couch with our pillows and I slept in the chair. It's also noisy in the rooms, on the 14th floor sounded like we were sitting on the side of the freeway. 6. One out of 3 elevators was broken when we came in Thursday and never repaired. A worker we talked to mentioned it "had been down for a while. We were told that the freight elevator was out of order too and the poor housecleaners literally had to wait forever to get an elevator to ride up in. Also worth mentioning, There was a dog in the room across from us that barked until two AM. As a dog owner I can roll with dogs but people were screaming at them through the wall and about 11 pm someone pounded on their door cursing and yelling at them. Pay to play internet? Seriously? In 2022 when you know EVERYONE has a device. That's just a cheap money grab. We could never get my Bonvoy membership to work with it so we paid for one night so my son could complete his school work. read more

Decided to stay here during my trip to Baton Rouge since it was nearby and convenient. Check in was a breeze and free parking is provided on the property. Despite it being a Marriott, there is a $15/per day for WiFi for guest who are not Marriott members. The rooms are nice but the walls are made out of paper, you can hear noise in the next room or out in the hallway. Also, room doors do not have anti-slam device so I was awoken at all hours at night with other guest in/out of their rooms. I spend four sleepless nights at this Marriott and wouldn't spend another night here if it were free. read more

This hotel is undergoing a major renovation (still) so amenities are reduced here. No swimming pool for instance. The lobby and first floor are very warm and humid- nearly intolerably so while you stand in line to check in. Check in staff were not friendly or apologetic when the room assigned us had a huge dehumidifier in the middle of the room to try to remove smoke from the room. Needless to say the room smelled heavily of cigarette smoke and we got another room after having to go back downstairs. The rooms are recently remodeled with contemporary services including wood floors and open concept wardrobes. The beds are comfortable. We ordered a large pot of coffee from room service- for which the price was reasonable- but for some reason they provided only one cup. The bed had a crack between the headboard and the walls where pillows would slide down but other than that it was great. The date I stayed November 30, 2020 ,when I arrived i was welcome by Ms.Betty the same person check me in every time I stay.I really enjoy talking with Ms Betty on my last visit when the hurricane was coming to New Orleans. I was up all night last night because a door that's in between my room and the next room had his TV on LOULD all night. I tried not to think about it and to tried to fall sleep. I called the front desk because I couldn't go to sleep. I was thinking the front desk would call his room ask him to turn it down or off but nope the lady over night (responded with I am so sorry) I could have slept in my car last night instead of this hotel. Stayed here for work in the downtown area. Drive time between the hotel and downtown was easy approx 20 min. The rooms have been renovated and are very nice looking. Bed was comfy. Hot water with good water pressure. My room was an adjoining room, which I find creepy unless you have requested an adjoining room and are traveling with the guests in the next room. The room are by no means sound proof, I could hear the toilet in the next room flush, people talking in the hallway, and the doors must be slammed to close them, so every door that closed on my floor, I heard. The hotel is right next to the highway so there the constant sound of cars, 18-wheelers and emergency vehicles zooming by all through the night. The lobby was loud and crowded with people at the bar and not once did I walk in the front doors without being engulfed in multiple people blowing cigarette smoke in my face. Staff was friendly and nice, rooms are pretty, but I would probably opt for somewhere quieter. read more

The room was really dirty, spots all over mirrors, floors not swept or mopped, 1/2 drank water bottle. Very disappointing. I've never written a ~future-minded~ review like this before, but that's what this rating is: In the near future, from the time of this writing, this Marriott will have earned its 5 stars. That said, if you are reading this close to the time of this writing, be warned: the lower floors are straight out of a mid-90s Days Inn motel. Everything is brown, the furniture is something your grandma would own, and the chairs are something like what you would find in your dad's garage. However... if you have the fortune of staying in the newly remodeled rooms (which you likely will - the only reason I was in an old room to begin with was because my company booked the whole place out), you'll be fine. Those are everything you expect from a Marriott, if you're a person with high expectations from the Marriott brand. So no fear there. The main reason I'm writing this review is to say that you will be taken care of. I filed a complaint about the chair - that God-awful, metal chair - around noon, and received an email and personal phone call that the chair had been taken care of (replaced with one of the brand new chairs from the la-tee-da remodeled rooms) within a few hours. I truly did not expect such a small request to get such attention, especially from such a massive Marriott. Great staff, soon to be all great rooms! read more

Update- I complained until I got put in a innovated room. Much better. Rooms had hardwood floors and huge showers. Very clean on the renovated floors. INSIST ON A RENOVATED ROOM!!!! read more

What an amazing hotel Baton Rouge has in the renovated Marriott. The staff and rooms are very nice. We were impressed with the concierge lounge which the Sunday morning we were here had bacon, eggs, yogurt, pastries, diced potatoes and juice all on real silverware. read more

We stayed here for two nights, I have to say that this is probably the cleanest and nicest hotel that I've been in a long time. The hospitality was amazing. The bar area and restaurant or very inviting, I would highly recommend that you give this hotel a try read more
